Very nice place to grab some food and drinks. Multi level with plenty of seating. Has both an upstairs bar and downstairs bar. Booths and high tops, as well as table seats available. Adorable decor and great atmosphere. There's a great sink area for easy washing after indulging in some crabs. All employees were friendly and attentive. We only came in for a late night drink. Ordered two delicious cocktails- espresso martini and a blueberry spritz. Both were tasty. Nice place to chill. I can imagine this place is packed during seasonal peak hours. The drinks were really good we did get an appetizer which was the blackened ahi tuna which was prepared differently than most restaurants there wasn't much flavor honestly. I got a crab cake which was better than average my wife got the steam pot that was just alright she said. Again I will say the drinks were most certainly the best part and were very good! read more

The restaurant gets a little busy during peak times and I don't think you can put in a reservation, so plan to wait for a bit. Amazing food and service! You can always expect properties under the Starboard brand to be solid, and a visit to at least one can't be missed if you find yourself in Dewey. I'm shocked that Claw only has a handful of Yelp reviews! The space is VERY large, so if you roll up without a reservation it's not hard to snag a table. The menu is huge and very seafood heavy. We absolutely loved the creamy seafood pasta - rigatoni in cream sauce topped with tons of shrimp, crab meat and scallops. I also tried the Thai chili shrimp and cesar salad, both delish. It's a bit tough with a picky kid - the kids menu is small and on the healthier side (grilled chicken, salmon, etc). Luckily the regular menu is big enough that you can piece things together. My 3 year old actually loved the sweet corn and my 1 year old was a big fan of the beef and potato soup on special. There are lots of bar and grill vibe places in Dewey that are greasy and not high quality. This is a spot to add to your list for a wonderful seafood dinner. read more

If I could rate this any higher than 5 stars I would. This was a great experience! Our server was Lauren and she was amazing and so sweet! For drinks I had the watermelon crush and the Clawtini (their version of an espresso martini). The clawtini is on draft and it was deff a stronger martini but very good. The watermelon crush was refreshing and so good. Now for the food.. we split birra tacos and the happy hour mozzarella log ($7) for apps and both were amazing! The cheese pull of that log was one for the books. Then for dinner we each had a pound of snow crab legs ($40) and the Delaware corn dodgers, which were like corn nuggets or hush puppies. I'll say that snow crab legs are my favorite food and I've had them in many places. Starboard Claw was hands down the best crab legs I have ever had. They were pre-cracked, the meat was so juicy and lots of big pieces. I will think about these crab legs for many months to come. I know Delaware is known for the blue crabs, but don't sleep on the snow crab legs! The ONLY thing that I didn't love was the amount of flies everywhere but I know that's something they can't control. read more

Went for the stellar happy hour that runs 12-6 on Saturday and Sunday. $5 food options with generous portions. We had wings and shrimp. All were served quickly and tasted great. Shrimp came sprinkled with Old Bay and included cocktail sauce. Wings were chili rubbed with brown sugar. Nice and crispy with a good balance of flavors. Service was spot on too. Excellent service and the food came out fast. Very well run business with plenty of TVs for sports and super casual atmosphere. We had burgers which were very good and a salad with salmon which was excellent. Beer selection was acceptable. I would definitely return. Went here Friday of Memorial Day Weekend for happy hour. On the door of the establishment it indicated happy hour 4pm-6pm, in addition to their website, facebook and instagram. There was no indication happy hour did not apply to this day. We received our bill and were told there was no happy hour this weekend. The bartender said "I don't know what to tell you." I have never been to a restaurant that false advertises as much as this place. It is so unfortunate as a local that wants to support local business, but I will not be back again nor will I suggest this place to friends for this exact reason. Be better Starboard. read more

Our first experience was exceptional- the service was above and beyond, the food was killer (steam pot, shrimp, mussels, wings and a couple of sandwiches. Cocktails were great. We like it all so much that we went back a second time. This experience was not great. They seated us outside on the lower level at a table that it seemed no one knew who was to wait on it. The food seemed rushed, service was inconsistent at best and we very much felt rushed. Anyone can have a bad night- the good outweighed the bad. read more

Went to The Claw for a late lunch and enjoyed items from the happy hour menu. We always enjoy Starboard family restaurants as the food and drinks are always consistent. We had the mozzarella logs, calamari and clams, crab fries and the birria nachos, everything excellent. The restaurant was spotless as they clearly take pride in cleanliness the only area of improvement could be service it was non existent especially for it being very quiet. The food here was amazing, as was the wait staff. I had a roasted zucchini and shrimp bisque that I have raved about for days. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food and they were very accommodating with some special request drinks. I was surprised it was not busier on a Saturday night. Stopped here on my way back from the beach, I was on foot with my dog. Since they don't have a dog-friendly patio, I sat outside and placed (and paid for) an order to go on my phone. After about 20 minutes and not having any kind of confirmation or check in from them, I approached staff who were sitting outside. They confirmed my order was rec'd and that it would take 20 minutes. I ordered a beer and waited outside. Got the beer and recievwd a text that they were NOT able to fulfill my order. Asked the nice waitress to check, and yes, my order was coming. They let me sit on the porch table to eat, even though I had my very nice boy, BILLY dog. The food was good, but there were no napkins or utensils. I was a freaking mess. Not cool. For food and drinks: The grapefruit crush was average at best, tap beer is hard to ruin.. do yourself a favor and don't order their wings - they could not have been any dryer / overcooked. we didn't even finish them. Calamari clam app is very spicy - be prepared. Crab dip was good (I would not say great). We'll definitely try again as we're local, but was really hoping for a better experience! As long time Starboard people, we wanted to give the new Starboard Claw a try for dinner. We started off with Grapefruit Crushes of course and they lived up to those from the mother ship. We then got the Shishito Pepper App which were excellent. My wife got the short rib tacos and I got the veggie wrap with salmon. Tacos were very good but the third one was a little soggy. My wrap was very Poblano Pepper forward which I loved but others may not. Atmosphere and open eating areas were nicely designed. However, our bartenders were not great and struggled making requested easy drinks such as an unsweetened iced tea with lemon vodka. Our waitress was less than attentive and service was super slow.
