The Lighthouse is a nice bayside restaurant with a great deck bar! Service is very good and the place is kept tidy. The food and drink are fine as is the view. I have tried the nachos with chicken and it was ample and fresh. The steamed clams are delicious. Ya gotta soak the breadstick in the broth! The cream of crab is good but could really use some lump IMHO. The burger is pretty good but could be better if grilled on a open flame. Great location right in the bay with amazing views. We walked there so not sure about parking. It is behind/connected the Hilton hotel so would think they would have parking, but we all know how difficult it is to park in Dewey. Beautiful scenery and lots of seating options (bars, dining tables, high tops). The deck area is well insulated for the cold months and easily adapted for the warm. Ordered drinks at bar as waited for our table. Got an espresso martini, prickly pear margarita, and Makers Crush. All were fantastic. Service was great even though they were busy. Once seated ordered wings (6 per order), burger, mahi tacos, and roasted beet/goat cheese salad (one with grilled chicken one without). Everything was good. Fries were tasty and perfect fit for malt vinegar or ketchup. Tacos and burger great. Roasted beet salad was good with feta and walnuts, but beets weren't freshly roasted - they were canned. Nice balsamic glaze on top. Grilled chicken could have been seasoned more . Ordered a frozen espresso colada for dessert! We shared. Don't make the mistake of getting this as your stater drink (save it for dessert). Super tasty. Overall a great meal. They service was terrific and the views were killer. Great beach vibe here. Went to visit friends in Dewey and stopped by the Lighthouse for dinner and drinks. Had a few margaritas which were perfect and got the carnitas tacos with chips for my meal. Went safe with a Cuban sandwich and chips I will try to describe how offal it was. Cubans and which is easy to make and hard to screw up, that is unless you dump hot pepper oil all over it, I don't mean a dash a mean saturated.! Uneatable in the tiniest amount. There is never any hot sauce, pepper, or other condiments on a Cuban. EVER! Spouse had a so - so burger and fries. Service was acceptable but nothing stellar. Had a wonderful experience here! We were worried about being seated since we had a party of 9 on a Saturday night, but we got there and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They sat us immediately and pushed three tables together on the patio to seat us all comfortably. We had a prime spot overlooking the bay, and enjoyed the fantastic ambiance of live music and the view of the water. Our server, Kimberly, was superb and friendly as can be! Drinks were very good, I had the mango margarita, and we got the crab fries as an app (delish)! My rockfish was fantastic, and the rest of the bunch were very satisfied with their meals as well. Came back again while in town for the tacos and scenery. We tried out the crab dip as well which was delicious with pretzel rolls. My friends hardly touched their drinks, they said they tasted like they were made with cheap liquor and bitter. Otherwise had a good time and food was good this time around as well. I visited with my bf late afternoon Sunday and we were seated immediately. We asked for a table near the water and the hostess obliged. The server was a bit standoffish but the service was decent overall and the food did not take long to come out. Rockfish was fabulous 8/10 would have been a 9 if it came out hot. The crab cakes were also delicious but again they room temperature. The clams were ok the sauce was just a tad watery but the flavor was good not overwhelming or too oily. As far as the drinks go my boyfriend and I thought they were pretty weak. Would have given a 5/5 if the server was less awkward, the food was hot, and if the drinks were stronger. I'd like to return and try more menu item but I refuse to pay $8 for 2 hour parking in the lot. read more

This place sits right on the bayside behind the Residence Condos. Great indoor and outdoor seating. They have outdoor fire pits and nice string lights. Service was great. Friendly staff. The food was phenomenal. The crab cakes were so full of crab meat and very little filler. They were accompanied by delicious spicy street corn. We couldn't resist the scallops that were served the same way. So rich and flavorful. Washed it all down with one of their orange crush drinks. The prefect end to an evening. The Lighthouse has an excellent location for dining by the bay. The menu is diverse and can satisfy anyone's tastes. It is a bit pricey however, it's worth the added cost to sit and sip a cold beverage and enjoy the cool breezes. We ordered a dozen oysters that were very tasty but, pricey. The house burger was a typical grilled style with all the fixings. They offer a variety of "bowels" that are filled with all kinds of foods. Our server, Daniel, made our dining a fabulous experience. I recently celebrated my 70th Birthday with my 6 Besties. One of them is highly allergic to seafood. Our server, Haley, was made aware of this immediately, and she and the chef carefully went over a menu for this friend. Their thoughtfulness and care were so very much appreciated! This is one place I am extremely happy I finally had a chance to visit and partake in. The Lighthouse is connected, in a way, to the Hyatt in Dewey Beach. Your outcome for your experience here will all depend on the day and time you visit. I am glad that is the case, because if it were based off my first visit, this would be a very different review. Since I mentioned my first visit, let me delve into that a bit. I showed up on a Saturday evening, even with the outdoor seating the place was packed. For myself it was going to be up to a 45 minute wait. If you accept that you will be added to a list where they will text you to come back when a table is available. The texting system is horrible and they message you over every little change. I ended up opting to go elsewhere that night. Sunday afternoon comes around and I'm no longer alone, I am with a group of people. It was lunchtime and I was able to dine on the deck this time, with no wait. Sundays, in the offseason I believe, serves as Happy Hour all day long. With that you get to choose from a few specials. I don't remember all the specials, but I did partake in two. One was for a Smokin' Nachos. For the special it was supposed to be a smaller portion that what you get regularly. We had asked several times on the size and were assured by our server that it was small. I ordered this and the Hot Dog Sliders. When the food started coming out we were all second guessing ourselves. When the nachos started to hit the table we were all flabbergasted as they came out a full plate, not as small as they were portrayed to us. That could have been a meal unto itself. These Smokin' Nachos come with queso, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapenos, and pickled onions. When your choice of meat is added in, it definitely is a full meal. I went with beef. I could not finish this all, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't take leftover nachos as they just don't reheat well. As for the Hot Dog Sliders, I don't even know why they call it that. They just took a hot dog, cut it into fours, and threw it on some buns. Honestly they could have just kept it as a regular hot dog and it would have been fine. This is basically their Sunset Dog cut up. All beef dog and topped how you like. I got chili and cheese on mine and they came served with the house made chips. This, as well, could have been a meal unto its own. I basically got two meals for the price of one. Great service, our server was funny and helpful. She was graceful as well, she just went with the flow. Hopefully the next time I come here it will be before offseason, that way I might be able to enjoy a decent meal. read more

We live in Dewey for about 1/3 of the year and we have been to the old lighthouse (pre fire) hundreds of times in the last 25 years. We tried several times this summer to hit up the new lighthouse and we never felt like waiting for a table so we always left. We finally made it here for dinner a few days ago. We ordered the garlic herb roasted oysters for an app - they were pretty good but we couldn't taste the oyster part of it at all. I ordered the tuna tacos. And let me preface my review by saying I have eaten literally hundreds of tacos at the old lighthouse. These, understandably, were waaaaayyyyy more expensive. However, they were also more delicious. They came on the plate w a bunch of soggy potato chips that I ate - but these chips were terrible. My boyfriend initially ordered the short rib, which is the most expensive thing on the menu at $32. Our waitress took the menus then told us they were out of short rib. He started to take the menu back to look again but then said - I'll just take the crabcakes. (This is usually his standard order at all places in Dewey and Rehoboth.) So our meals come out and his crab cake dinner consists of 2 crab cakes and some potato hash in between the crab cakes w some red sauce on the hash. I could see there was lump crab in the crab cake. As he was eating he commented that it really wasn't much food and he considered ordering a 2nd dinner because he said he wasn't going to be full on such a small amount of food. I told him we would just pick up a pizza or something else on our walk home. When we were done, our waitress brought the bill. The crabcake meal was $50!!!!! Insane. First of all, he orders crab cakes all over Dewey and Rehoboth at least once a week and has never paid even close to $50 for a crabcake meal. (I do understand that it was marked MP so we should have asked - but when the most expensive thing on the menu is $32 the waitress should have mentioned the exorbitant overpricing of this dish) Secondly, we live the remainder of the year in the city and eat expensive dinners quite often. If we are eating a $50 dish - we expect to leave full. Maybe get bread or a salad. But def not need to order another meal afterwards on our walk home because it wasn't filling It is a shame but we won't be back even though we do like the deck, the layout, and the music here. The lighthouse is just price gouging and there are just too many better local options. read more

The Lighthouse is situated in a gorgeous location on the bay. I've been a couple times, once for a nice seafood dinner with family on the restaurant side and this time for some casual drinks at the outdoor bar. The food and drinks are decent but it's all about the view. You really feel like you're getting the full beach vacation experience when you're here on the deck enjoying the ambiance and if you're lucky, some live music to go with it. read more

The Lighthouse is attached to the Hyatt Place Dewey beach. I loved this spot so much that I visited three times during my 3 day stay. It's worth the visit alone for the views. The restaurant is directly on the bay and is a great spot for waterfront eats and drinks. The sunset is also gorgeous! The menu is large with lots of fun drinks, small plates, entrees, etc. Classic bar and grill fare, so think things like burgers, sandwiches, tacos, etc. The pulled pork nachos were so good and came with a huge portion. They were smothered in white queso and topped with lots of pork, lettuce, jalapenos and pico de gallo. Two of us could have literally shared this as one dinner. I also tried the crab cake sandwich and chicken tacos -- both were really yummy and the tacos came with the most delicious kettle cooked chips. Service was solid and on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday it was never too tough to snag a table. There is lots of seating which is great. I wish there was live music, that would have made this a perfect experience! Still really great though, whether you are a guest of the hotel or not it's worth a visit. read more

Had a great experience here with a few caveats. Our table was excellent right on the patio overlooking the bay. The kid's meals came out quick and were great. We asked for ranch a few times for the kids. One came out for one kid and the other had to wait (my son was NOT happy). But, no big deal here. I ordered steamers and there was a floating winged bug in the butter sauce. Gross is an understatement. The waitress quickly took this off the bill and I decided against a replacement. Oh the bright side, my crab cake sandwich may have been the best I've ever had! Perfectly made, tarter was great, and the roll was perfectly toasted. Orange crushes were excellent as usual. This is the second disappointing experience at this place. We both ordered the crab cakes; they were decent. We sat outside (which was our mistake) since it was extremely windy. A 2 seater opened up inside near the bar when we were halfway thru our meal so I asked if we could be switched. We were told no because of a reservation. We finished our meal and that table was still open; very frustrating! It appears that we could finished our meal (without freezing) at that other table after all. Customer service is definitely lacking here! And the entertainment (cover band) could be better! read more

We visited on a Thursday night with our toddler. The views were incredible, the live music was wonderful, and though it would have been enough we also loved the food. The scallops were incredible, the fish and chips were the highest quality we've found in Dewey with a Dewey Beer Co batter, the salad was very fresh with a blueberry vinaigrette. Everything tasted very fresh and was cooked perfectly, and every ingredient seemed high quality. The service was super friendly, and everyone was so nice to our toddler. Brought my wife a birthday cheesecake with a candle at the bar...very thoughtful. I had the Maryland crab soup which I did not like...it was literally a minestrone type soup with a few pieces of crab. I also had the herb garlic steamed clams, completely flavorless. The Lighthouse: Walking in- The atmosphere and the view of the Rehoboth beach bay was unreal. Service- It took a bit longer for the food to get here, but it was worth it and they were very nice and attentive. Meal- The crab cakes were the BEST I've ever had! Eating was like getting a punch of flavor in my mouth, and the corn and potatoes side was also delicious. Wow, I love this place. The sunset was absolutely beautiful from the restaurant and the atmosphere was so lively. Loved the live band and pier location. The food wasn't bad either. The chicken tenders were super crispy and my friends said the nachos were the best they've ever had (not sure if they're exaggerating but hey it's worth mentioning). If you want a great location, beautiful pictures, fun time and pretty good food-- I would check out the lighthouse if you're in Delaware. It gets pretty packed though so come early. read more
