Live music!

Well, I though the food quality slid after Hammerheads lost the concession. They did improve over a couple years, but the real reason to go is the atmosphere and the music. Now that the Atlas group acquired the Big Fish group, the menus have changed again. Drinks menu is pretty similar, but gone are the seared tuna appetizers and the tater tots loaded with stuff. You can still get tots as a side, and for $6, it's a generous portion. We tried the smoked fish dip. Think you might be getting the delicious smoked trout from the Big Fish Market? Nope. It's rather mild in mild, I didn't detect any smoke flavor and, this is interesting, it's served with chips. Yup, a bag of potato chips to hold the dip! Actually, the salt and flavor of the chips help the otherwise bland dip. Friends got the crab dip salad and that looked pretty good, so will try that next time. If you like Old Bay, bring it along. It's not in the spice container anymore (actually, they had a different brand that was very salty and not as flavorful as Old Bay. Multiple servers are running food and drinks, so they sometimes get misdirected to tables...at least in the bar area. Very friendly servers and they are eager to make you happy. Loyalty Points are with the Atlas app, now.

Seth, the manager hooked us up with an amazing table and the Matthew Street band was playing, and they were really excellent. The crowd was really into it even though people were eating dinner, they were into the band. They played a lot of great rock 'n' roll hits and the service was awesome even though it was busy. There were a lot of people but they didn't rush us out. Our waitress, Cindy was amazing. She made recommendations that were spot on and the food was great. It was a great night and amazing scenery. The sunset was. spectacular.

As you can see we enjoyed this place for the first time in 2023. I returned here again with my families two times in 2024, which I will summarize here: My first family of six, including two elementary school children, were here again for lunch. We were seated in the shade at one of their picnic tables to the right of the entrance overlooking the outdoor bar area. I started with my spicy margarita with salt for $11. We also shared two orders of fried pickles for $9 each or $18 total. I also enjoyed my tuna poke bowl with sticky rice, edamame, wasabi aioli, and sesame for $15. The tuna was fresh. I ended my lunch with a 60 minute Dogfish draft for $7. Katie B. served our table very well. My total bill was $167 excluding gratuity. I returned here again with my family of seven with three preschoolers for lunch. I enjoyed my 60 minute draft Dogfish IPA for $7. We shared and enjoyed the fried pickles for $9. I also again enjoyed my tuna poke for $15. Molly C. served us very well. My total bill was $133 excluding gratuity. We agreed we will continue to return here for lunch.

Love the ambiance here, and they open early at 7:30 a.m., which is great. I've come a few times for lunch and always enjoyed it. I've tried their blackened fish tacos, soft shell crab sandwich, and crab cake sandwich. My favorite was their soft shell crab sandwich, followed by their crab cake sandwich. Their crab cake is probably the second best I've had in Delaware, but the soft shell crab sandwich was insanely good--it's an off-the-menu item, so make sure to ask for it. The service is always efficient and friendly.

Excellent Blackened Fish Tacos

The Dockside Marina Bar & Grill has great food. The fish dip with chips is very tasty and it's not too smoky flavored and not slathered in mayo. It was topped with Old Bay and had Chips, celery and carrots for dipping, and we used our spoons to get each drop. The Tuna burger had a generous portion of Tuna and the avocado and spicy mayo gave the sandwich amazing flavor. The Blackened Fish Tacos was seasoned well. They had a green crema, pickled slaw, and cilantro, which combined gave the 3 tacos a great flavor, I loved it. The ambiance is cool, it's mostly outdoor but on a cool day it's pleasant. The restaurant was busy and the service was great. They have such great food I'm planning what I'll try at my next visit.

A beautiful location for a restaurant. Right off docks so can see beautiful boats while enjoying drinks and food. Come for the sunset!! Very friendly staff from the bar to the table. Thanks Bridget for great service and the food suggestions. Seafood dip was fresh, gooey, and creamy. Loved the cheese ! Yellow fish tuna cheesesteak was surprisingly good. I was nervous for the cheese wiz and fish combo but it was actually pleasant. Lobster roll was the hit of the night. So freshhhh. Tasted like I just pulled it out of the claw. Now the drinks are a hit ! The crushes are so tasty. The peach was my favorite! Will be back. Need to try the sushi rolls !

Shrimp taco

Amazing fish tacos holy crap. They were generous portions, the slaw was fantastic, the breading was crispy and salty and they slathered it in sauce. Shrimp tacos were just as good, the service was fast. Great place to sit outside with the dog after a boat day. Lots of parking.

This should be entitled Chips n Fish Sticks.. overpriced

I will summarize my four most recent happy hour off season visits. We were first here at the bar with my six family and friends. Well finally the off season happy hour half price dinner entrees have finally returned here starting around mid October with pretty much the same entrees and menu as last year. They subsequently updated the half price entrees in early November. All items have pretty much returned here except for some new entrees. The good news is that at least two new half price happy hour dinner entrees were added including the surf and turf with espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon with two skewered shrimps, yukon mash, tomato garnash with blue cheese in the middle of the tomato for $40 or half price for only $20. I never had espresso encrusted filet mignon, therefore I ordered and enjoyed mine medium rare. I could barely taste the encrusted espresso. I ended my dinner with my favorite Fiddlehead's draft honey porter for $6. My total bill was $111 with half price discount of $36.50 so my final bill was $77. On my second return I enjoyed my ahi tuna rice bowl with broccoli, ginger fried house rice, sprouts and ginger vinaigrette for $36 or half price for $18. My total bill was $72 excluding gratuity. On my third return I again enjoyed the espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare, but was over cooked to medium. I did not complain about returning my filet for a replacement, however I did show it to bartender Dennis. Next time I will order my filet rare. On my fourth return I enjoyed my usual cosmos and my ahi tuna rice bowl which was always properly cooked ahi style. Bartender Dennis always remembers I prefer a little extra spice, without me even asking for my Sriracha. Dennis recommended both of the above entrees. See my most recent pic of the new menu. Chef Cowan waved to me at the bar. Bartender Dennis served us very well supported by our usual excellent recommendations and conversations. Chandra and Cameron also said hello. The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On Black Friday I purchased another $1k in gift cards for the off season from Off The Hook and Hooked in OC. Needless to say we will continue to return here for happy hour to spend our $1k.

On a Thursday mid-afternoon we were on our way back to the house from the Indian River Inlet and were in the mood to relax with a beer. Luckily, Bethany Bay Brewing was right on our way home so we took a little detour. The parking lot was pretty empty but to our surprise it was rather crowded. The beertender, Mack, was right there to greet us. She was very nice and helpful, did a great job explaining their tap list, and even gave us recommendations for other local establishments to try out. She also gave us an opportunity to taste any beer before we ordered a pint which is much appreciated! My dad got an IPA while my mom and I got flights (5 pours for $15). I enjoyed all of the beers I tried, especially the Blueberry Blonde and Blood Orange IPA. I would have been happy ordering a full pour of any of the beers I had in my flight (I also had Riptide Double IPA, Dark Seas Chocolate Stout, and Birds Nest Lager). They also provide complementary popcorn to their guests which is a thoughtful gesture. They have seltzers, wines, and ciders available for any non-beer drinkers out there, and I did see a sign signifying discounts for veterans and cyclists! If I lived locally I would definitely be a regular here. Next June I will definitely make it a point to stop in and have another flight of 5 beers I didn't try during this visit. We were very pleased with our short visit and were very happy we made the decision to stop in on our way home.

I will summarize my three most recent visits in March during the off season on Friday's at 4 PM. We arrived at 3:50 PM prior to their open at 4 PM. Already two people were online. We waited in my Audi waiting for other customers to arrive. Other vehicles arrived around 3:55 PM so we exited my Audi to get in line behind the other two customers. When they opened at 4 PM we secured our favorite table for 4 to the left of the entrance. We were happy that Mike from his former Catch 54 served our table. We first met Mike here at Bluecoast back in 2021. Also Kelly from her former Off The Hook also stopped by to say hello. We enjoyed our dozen Chunu Virginia oysters. I also enjoyed my usual tuna poke for $15 with white rice, carrots, pineapple and jalapeno peppers. I ended my meal with a pineapple martini for $8. We returned here for our second visit with our friends. Since there were five of us we sat in their second booth on the right. Again Mike stopped by to say hello. I started with my margarita with salted rim for $9. Kelly delivered our dozen of the Chunu Virginia oysters for $12 to also say hello. I also enjoyed my two pineapple martinis for $8 each. I also enjoyed my tuna and salmon poke for $16. We also shared a bottle of Trefethen chardonnay for $58 with the Friday 1/2 price wine reduced down to $29. My total bill was reduced down from $143 to $114. Lindsay S. served us very well as usual. We returned for our third visit on Friday. We sat at the table to the left of the entrance. Kelly and Mike stopped by to say hello. I started with my margarita for $8 and ended with my pineapple martini also for $8. Again, I enjoyed my dozen Chunu Virginia oysters and my poke. Alexis D. served us very well. Customer service and friendship are most important. We will continue to return here for the off season happy hour.
