The drinks and dessert were fabulous. I tried each of the 12 oysters offered, and they were so indescribably delish. Best of all our server Chelsea, so very nice, helped us navigate through this culinary experience and was spot on with all her recommendations. Make sure you make a reservation because we were shocked that we couldn't just walk in early on a weekday during off season. We ended up being able to grab a seat at the bar. My son had the Bee Sting along with a House Oyster Shooter. (both great) My wife had an Autumn Harvest Sangria (delicious). Great spot for seafood lovers and gluten free eaters alike! Listen, I'm an oyster gal, but currently I can't eat them (pregnant) but that's no reason to not come here. Wings, burgers and sandwiches, amazing desserts! Always gluten free options and they are VERY careful. I don't know what else you need. This is definitely a solid lunch spot and I'm sure the same can be said for dinner. The setup is great, the decor is lovely, and even when it's wildly busy you don't feel neglected. They've got it down to a science. Parking can be rough during the tourist season but remember they are open for most of the locals only season too. Prominently placed on 2nd street this is probably one of the best places to go for food in Lewes. The atmosphere is casual and pleasant. The food is great. It is busy. Even on a Monday it is often packed with locals which is always a good thing. So make a reservation. It will help. The staff is really good about trying to fit you in but why wait when just a little planning will get you right in? The food whether getting the raw bar or cooked is great and the dessert known as 'boardwalk empire' is worth a visit all on its own. I will have one balk at the food. one particular dish "Buffalo soldiers" is oysters fried up and served with a sauce. Effectively boneless buffalo wings with oyster in place of chicken and it is very good. So why am I complaining here? because on the menu it's listed as NOLA- New Orleans style. It's BUFFALO oysters. Buffalo NEW YORK! not new orleans. More seriously the downside that stops this from being 5 stars are twofold. 1) the service is a bit slow. The staff are busy but there does seem to be a wait. I made a note of this last year and when I went back this year, it was still slow, so, not really fixed. 2) and far more seriously, the number of toilets, for this there are TWO. That's TWO toilets for EVERYONE. Men, women, staff and there seems to be invariably a line. So great food, fair pricing and if you make a reservation no needless wait but just be prepared for some waits once you're in. read more

Didn't quite get the hype. First time dining here, we didn't have reservations but were seated right away at ~ 5:30. Waitress never introduced herself, didn't know her name and it didn't matter. Food came on time, it was good, fried oysters and oyster chowder for apps, scallop and ribeye plates for entree. We ordered a Diet Coke midway thru eating and when it was brought to us, the waitress said we had 15 min left because they had reservations for the table!! Mind you, we didn't eat slow and we sure as heck didn't gobble it down. Folks around us had been seated before us and were still at their tables when we left. We didn't have a window seat or anything special. 15 min to down the coke, she proceeded to ask us if we wanted dessert. At what point could we enjoy our dessert if we had ordered it? Classless. Last night was our second visit to Lewes Oyster House. We come to Rehoboth each year in the off-season and this will be a permanent dining stop for us! Yesterday we ordered the grilled monkfish cassoulet, pan-seared sea scallops, and the (amazing) French toast crème brûlée. The building itself is interesting and has a classy traditional vibe. As native Marylanders we appreciate excellent seafood and this restaurant belongs in the top of the list. The oyster menu offers a varied selection. The dinner menu items include creative seafood and fish entrees with tasty garnishes and sauces. Other protein options and pastas are on the menu. My experience at this resturaunt wasn't the best and I would not spend another special occasion there . We had a reservation set for 5pm for my birthday and we were sat in a corner booth that is awkwardly set up so close to another booth where you and the other table are facing each other awkwardly throughout dinner. The waitress took 20 minutes to get our drink order and another 20 for food orders. We ordered a small seafood tower that came out an hour into our reservation and our small apps took another twenty minutes to follow. We got our entrees about an 1 hour and 45 minutes into our dinner and as we were finishing up our entrees and asked for a box our waitress came by with the check printed in her hand. We were a little surprised cause she never checked on us once we got our mains and then never offered dessert for our meal. When we mentioned we were thinking about dessert since it was my birthday the waitress informed us our time at the table was up and we would have to leave. This took us by surprise because the long wait times were not of our own fault but our actual meal and service took almost the full 2 hours to come out and our first course was completely raw seafood so taking that into consideration the long wait times were annoying and we ended up being punished for it. We got the seafood tower, ricotta toast, the beef tartar and the mussels and frites as appetizers and the scallops and halibut for mains. So again a majority of our apps were cold apps and they still took over an hour to come out. The food is good for what you get but I would not return because of the service and lack of hospitality. read more

Lovely experience! The food was all amazing! We had oysters, the Lobster Roll, Scallops, Halibut and Octopus and all were phenomenal. Each dish was perfectly cooked and the flavors were all great. The scallops and lobster roll were stand outs for sure. Unfortunately one of my oysters was clearly bad but the manger quickly brought me a new one. This was the best part of the service though unfortunately. Our waiter was our biggest issue with the establishment. While he did say he had only been there a month it really weakened our experience as he messed up all of our drink orders. Made judgmental comments about our ordering which were genuinely very off putting and borderline made us feel bad and failed to refill our waters and then rushed us constantly. Some of our party were having a fairly serious and emotional discussion and he kept interrupting despite our constant telling him we were fine and we're still working on our food. Overall the food is fantastic and the manager was very nice but the waiter we had really needs to change his attitude toward patrons as it was the worst experience we have had here due to his behavior. read more
