The food, staff, and ambience were all excellent! I ordered the filet; their homemade bread is also delicious. Waiter Luke was attentive but not smothering, which helped. Best restaurant in Bethany! We'll be back soon!

Heirloom tomato and grilled peaches caprese salad

OMG!! This place is amazing there service is fast and they were very nice. I got the heirloom tomato and grilled peaches caprese salad it was absolutely amazing! Then I got the fillet mignon medium rare and I was in heaven it was so good, it came with green beans and mashed potatoes they were awesome! Then I got the peach crumb cake and it was the BEST DESSERT EVER!! The only thing I would say is there was not enough staff so it toke I little longer then usual. I would definitely recommend 5 stars!!

Good food and drinks, especially the pear martini. My scampi portion could have been a bit larger considering the price. Hubby liked his grilled octopus.

Tucked along the Bethany boardwalk, came to celebrate a birthday. Ordered some crab dip and octopus to share to start. The crab dip was full of lump crab and paired well with the cracker. Wish there was more octopus in the other starter but had good antipasto like flavors. I got the double cut pork chop as my main and enjoyed. It was cooked well and I liked the balsamic on the plate, however I do wish it had some sauce to pair with. The potatoes were great and a crowd pleaser. Drinks were solid. The pear martini was fresh and sweet. Shirley temple was standard but could've been fizzier in my opinion. We split 4 desserts amongst us: key lime pie, honey cake, flourless chocolate cake, and a peach crumb cake. The honey cake is unique and had a great moist yet spongy texture. The pie was a runner up, we liked the tartness and thick crust. We do wish our server paid more attention to us especially in the beginning. We weren't offered any bread and felt like the wait for food was very long. Other tables who arrived after us had already got their entrees and desserts while we were still waiting for mains. He also didn't check up on us like he did with the surrounding tables. The young bus boy however was great and kindly helped us in between.

Delish! We came on a windy, rainy Friday and were easily accommodated for a small table for two in their back by the kitchen. A charming, bar seating area greets you when you enter but there are two more dining rooms as you walk back to the back. It's much larger than it appears at first. Our service was wonderful. Prompt and professional and just enough attention to detail. We split a wedge salad, fisherman's stew and the salmon with carrot and coconut cream. The salmon was delicious but the carrot and coconut purée was pungent and didn't love it. My husband really loved his fisherman's stew. It was loaded with fresh clams, scallops, oysters and shrimp and was a broth based soup (not cream) so was lighter and came with toast points. Dessert was a delicious flourless chocolate hazelnut torte which was decadent and wonderful. All in all - loved the ambiance and great service and food was good. Would absolutely come back. Easy parking right in front and walkable to the main shopping street in Bethany.

The Parkway delivered the kind of dinner that turns a beach week into a tradition. We settled in and started with drinks: my mother's crisp Rosé, my Pineapple Martini made with house-infused pineapple vodka (tropical, bright, not cloying), and my father--ever the simple one--content with an ice-cold Heineken. Warm bread and butter arrived first, the kind that smells like a hug. Then a Tomato & Peach Caprese that vanished on contact: grill-kissed peaches, sun-sweet heirloom tomatoes, pillowy burrata, a balsamic shimmer, EVOO, and basil. My father's clam chowder wasn't the classic New England style--and all the better for it: silky, savory, and distinctly their own. We went all in on a 55oz Bone-In Tomahawk, medium-rare. The crust crackled, the center blushed, and every slice was velvet. Grilled shrimp brought sweet brine and a whisper of char; green beans snapped with freshness; and the mashed potatoes were scandalously creamy. Two sauces--an herb-bright chimichurri and a glossy cabernet reduction--let us toggle between zing and depth like a perfect playlist. One of the best meals we've had in Bethany Beach, full stop. Go hungry, bring people you love, and share the tomahawk. You'll leave already planning your next visit.

To the pretentious snob couple who absurdly and abruptly requested to move because of your discrimination to well behaved children: Ya should've stayed home and ordered pizza. Did you really expect to never be around children at a vacation beach town?! Guess what...children are people too and they exist!! We've been to Michelin restaurants and seen strollers inside...that made us smile. Parents deserve fine dining too without disgusting attitude from haters like you. We take our children to nice restaurants and teach them about good food. Service: TOP-NOTCH. Fast, responsive, accommodating. Great with children!! Food: AMAZING! Burrata caprese was loaded with fresh tomatoes and basil. Sea Bass was ginormous. Lightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Ambience: Beautifully decorated. Cozy.

Best bar and restaurant in Bethany Beach. Friendly staff. The owners make you feel like you're family. Menu has great favorites and new ones to try. Always fresh and delicious. Did I mention the bar?! Excellent wine selection and choice of cocktails.

We sat at the bar for dinner last night and it was a great experience. The owner was our bartender. We started with the clam chowder which was delicious. It is not your traditional clam chowder - It had a heavy garlic flavor (which we loved). We got the wedge salad and a filet for dinner. I forgot to take a picture of the filet but it was delicious and cooked perfectly!!! I highly recommend this place. It's sort of a hole in the wall place but it's a great find.

    Very nice wine

Our first visit took place on Mother's Day around 4:00 PM. Because brunch was still being served and dinner didn't begin until 4:15 PM, I booked a table for two, and we passed the time at the bar. We caught some live music while I enjoyed a $16 Maker's Mark Manhattan before settling the bar tab. Once dinner service opened at 4:15 PM, we were seated inside at table 45 to escape a breezy outdoor deck. It turned out to be the debut day for their new menu. I ordered another $16 Maker's Mark Manhattan and the $36 seafood stew--a rich combination of fish, clams, shrimp, fennel, pepper, onion, Spanish chorizo, and tomato seafood broth accompanied by grilled bread. It was a generous portion, so I brought the remaining stew home to enjoy later that evening. To conclude the meal, I tried the Lucky 7 porter from Evolution Craft Brewing Company ($7), which featured dark dried fruit and sweet toffee tones balanced by notes of chocolate, coffee, and smoke. Our server, Brendan V., did an excellent job caring for us and demonstrated great knowledge of the new menu, even while managing a large outdoor table with five children. Our total bill for that evening came to $114, excluding gratuity. We returned on Memorial Day for a second dinner, this time in a group of five that included family and a friend visiting from Scottsdale, AZ. Since the outdoor fire tables were completely full, we secured a table on the left side of the restaurant. I began with a spicy mango margarita for $14, which featured tequila, mango, lime, agave, jalapeno, and a tajin rim, and opted for the $36 seafood stew once again. Unfortunately, the cocktails were inconsistent this time; I ordered a Maker's Mark Manhattan up, but it tasted like watered-down bourbon. When a second Manhattan tasted exactly the same, I decided to cancel the order. Nevertheless, our server Nadine K. provided excellent service throughout the evening, and our bill came out to $92 before gratuity. Ultimately, we all agreed that we would gladly visit again.

All food had outstanding flavor and all things were cooked perfectly. The short rib rub was thoughtfully done and you didn't even need a knife to cut though it. We also loved the creativity of the fruity pebbles in the dessert. Wait staff was a bit slow, sea bass was a bit dry but amazing skin on it, and the price was a bit high ($80) and that's coming from someone who lives in DC. Overall great place for a special night.

Review for Heidaway - Bethany Beach, DE…read more It was the weekend after Memorial Day 2025--when the beach is still buzzing, but you can actually find parking and order a drink without elbowing someone in a straw hat. We rolled into Bethany Beach to kick off our summer, minus the chaos, and Heidaway was the first place that pulled us in with a wink and a steel drum beat. Right on the edge of the boardwalk, this place has big tropical energy. Think Key West meets Delaware--palm fronds, sea breeze, and the gentle background hum of fun. The outdoor seating is shaded but still breezy, like Mother Nature knows you want SPF without sweating through your shirt. And the music? Bright, beachy, and setting the scene for "yes, we are on vacation, thank you." Service? On point. From the friendly hostess to our magical waitress who somehow knew when we needed napkins, another round, or just a smile--everyone brought their A-game. No tourist trap vibes here. Just good, solid hospitality. Cocktails: We kicked off with a Moscow Mule, chilled in a classic copper mug and strong enough to make you forget your group chat's been blowing up since Tuesday. Spicy, refreshing, and just boozy enough to remind you you're off the clock. And the second drink? Let's call it the Mystery Mai Tai of Joy. We don't remember what was in it. We just know it was tropical, delicious, and made us say "we should move here" at least twice. The Food: Oysters Rockefeller - Baked to perfection, smothered in a creamy, herby sauce and topped with crispy breadcrumbs. The kind of dish that makes you lean back in your chair and toss your plate at a fireplace (if they had one) Lobster Roll & Fries - A buttery masterpiece. Generous chunks of lobster, golden toasted roll, and fries that nailed the crispy-soft ratio. They didn't hold back with the portions, and we didn't hold back either. Beet Salad - A beachy surprise hit. Sweet roasted beets, creamy goat cheese spread, and peppery arugula doing a power pose on the plate. It made us feel like we were balancing out the rest of the meal... even if dessert was already a foregone conclusion. If you're heading to Bethany and want to dodge the madness while still soaking up summer magic, Heidaway is a great spot. Come for the drinks, stay for the oysters, and let the ocean breeze convince you that everything is right in the world--even if only until Monday.

The location is wonderful, located right in the town of Bethany. We sat outside on a nicely done patio that was relaxing and perfect for the weather. The waitress was very accommodating and well trained. She asked about allergies and made sure we had what we needed. When we did not like a dish, they did comp us, which was unexpected. The negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives as we do not intend to eat there in the future. First, it was very overpriced for a tapas place. Each tapa was about 22-25 dollars. These were not a reasonable price for tapas. We ended up leaving hungry. The food was presented very nicely, however, the food lacked in flavor and execution. The tapas all had good concepts but none were great and some were simply bad. The cauliflower was coated in something that made it taste burnt. The gnocchi were not even gnocchi and the dish lacked balance as it was super sweet. The scallops were well cooked but the mushrooms and corn had no flavor. The bison sliders were decent but the buns were hard and burnt and the slider had no sauce. The tuna crudo was probably the best one but it was very oily. Again, good concepts, just poor execution. Cocktails were upwards of 16 dollars and a glass of wine was about the same. I could walk down the street and get a drink for much less. We got other people's food twice as they have people carrying out food that aren't our server. I wish I could rate this place higher but it is not worth the money they are charging.
