If you're looking for a solid BBQ experience, Bethany Blues is a great choice. Overall, the food was delicious. The meat was done well, the appetizers were solid, most of the sides were good as well but some were relatively plain (the mac and cheese, for example). Service was a little bit slow but was definitely solid considering how busy the restaurant was. You'll also be much better off if you make reservations! Would definitely return, but wouldn't necessarily recommend if you're looking for a more beachy vibe and seafood-heavy menu. read more

Sat at a high near the bar with excellent views of several sporting events on the TVs. We each ordered an off season crabcake dinner special (had to ask for the specials menu). As you can see from my last July 2025 review this is another one of my top 10 favorites for happy hour. I was here with my friend for Friday happy hour. I enjoyed my two happy hour Makers Mark Manhattans for $9 each and my draft Guinness for $8. I also enjoyed my usual NFL two brisket burger sliders for $12. Their brisket and their variety of sauces is the best in this area. I especially enjoy their Carolina sauce. My total bill was $53.50 excluding gratuity. Incredible Food & Allergy-Friendly Service! We ordered from Bethany Blues BBQ through DoorDash while staying at an Airbnb, and I can honestly say--it was a standout meal of our trip! What impressed me most (besides the mouthwatering food) was their attention to food allergies, especially gluten. The online ordering system made it so easy to note allergies and special requests, and when our food arrived, each item was clearly labeled with the gluten allergy--a huge relief when you're managing dietary restrictions! I ordered the Chesapeake deviled eggs and a burger on a gluten-free bun, and both were delicious. A trip to the outlets ended up turning into an overnight stay in Bethany and this place came highly recommended by the locals. The restaurant itself is cute. It is two floors and there was a private party on the first floor so we were seated upstairs. We had a large party and I commend them for being able to accommodate 10 people for a walk in without a wait. Once we were seated, our waiter Nick greated us. I can honestly say he was the best part of the visit. He was young but had amazing customer service. He was attentive, funny, and helpful. The fact that he handled our entire party by himself was also pretty impressive. For started we had a few orders of deviled eggs, brisket nachos, and old bay butter wings. The nachos were a NO! They were dry and the brisket was bland. The opinions on the eggs were mixed. While I enjoyed them, a few others said they were too sour tasting. BUT THEM WINGS!!!! Omg some of the best I've ever had. They were cooked well and seasoned just as good! For my main course, I got the Blues Jambalaya. The description is what pushed me to order it but I wish I hadn't lol. It had literally no taste to it. I had to jazz it up with some salt & pepper but ultimately I couldnt finish it. Nick did bring us some cornbread which was soooo good, especially the butter it comes with. I also had an old fashioned mocktail which was an amazing version of the original without the liquior. For dessert, we had the red velvet cheesecake. Although it tasted good, it was partially frozen so that sucked. All and all, i'd revisit this place during a happy hour for the wings + cornbread. The food was delicious, the Blue Brisket Burger is the best burger I've ever eaten! We got there in time for Happy Hour, because the only reservation we could get, was for 4:45. We ate upstairs in the balcony. The waiter was on the point and we ordered lots of drinks and food. Deviled Eggs, Ribs and Onion rings, plenty of cheap beer and drinks. Everything was Excellent. TVs on with sports channels playing. There's a flight of stairs at the entrance and also a lift, great accessibility to access the restaurant and the second level of tables Food (5 ) Delicious, great portion. We came at 2PM on a Tuesday. It wasn't very busy, which I guess I now know wasn't a good sign. My boyfriend and I ordered the Carolina chopped pork. I would give it a 7.5/10. It was good, but I was just expecting more from a bbq place. My friend said that she liked the Caprese chicken sandwich, but the fries were cold. The collard greens were mediocre at best. The baked beans tasted like ketchup and had a syrup like consistency, yuck! The coleslaw was the better of the sides. The downstairs bar area is nice, but the dining seats and table weren't that clean when we went to sit down. The bathroom is all the way up stairs for some reason and to make it worse, the woman's bathroom was pretty gross. I won't be back. read more

Food was good. Pork was nicely cooked. The available sauces are okay but not spectacular. They could offer a sweeter sauce which would greatly enhance the taste of the meat. Service was great! Our server Sydney was very efficient. The wait was an hour(at 5 PM on a Thursday). Not many places to sit while waiting but it's fun to walk around Bethany so no real problem here. Be aware the place is very noisy and that type of environment is not for everyone. Overall, I've had better pulled pork and probably won't go back but I could not tell others to not to give it a try. read more

The service was good taking into account it was only a round of drinks, they came out pretty quickly. The food was okay. Baked beans had a very strong taste of green peppers which worked for some, but not loved by others. Mashed potatoes were very tasty. The ribs tasted fine, but weren't very meaty. We like Bethany Blues Barbecue. My husband and I find the downstairs dining area and the bar cozy. The service is great- the food comes out quickly. They have Guinness on draft which is a plus for my husband and the cocktails are good. They specialize in bourbon offerings and I ordered a manhattan that should have been served in a short glass with one large ice cube but the female bartender didn't have a clue or maybe that's how they serve such drinks there. It was a negative for me as I think the glassware and presentation matters especially for a place that offers so many bourbon options. The food is quite good. We love the happy hour options. The fried green beans are great and plentiful. We like to share the trio of sliders and I always have to get the smoked turkey-it's so good. The bbq sauces are very good too. read more

I don't know what happened since the last time I was here, but Bethany Blues BBQ has gone downhill. To start, my party and I arrived at the restaurant at about 5pm and for some reason they already were playing live music. We were seated directly next to the singer and when we asked to move, they refused. Furthermore, this guy was one of the worst singers I've ever heard. I'd rather stick pencils in my ears than listen to this guy. Nobody could hear each other and it was an awful experience. I was hoping the food would make up for this, but it sadly didn't. I ordered ribs and brisket with macaroni cheese and fries and everything was mediocre. To explain, the brisket was dry and overcooked. Also, the fries were generic and bland. On the flip side, the ribs were decent. The flavor was good, but there wasn't much meat on the bones. Likewise, the macaroni and cheese was solid. It was cheesy and creamy. Sadly, the food was nowhere near as good as it used to be. When it's all said and done, Bethany Blues BBQ used to be really good, but has sadly gone down the drain. read more

Brisket: Poorly trimmed with an inch-thick slab of gross fat, nearly equal to the meat. The "burnt brisket shreds" smelled like old beef jerky and tasted like shoe leather. The smell lingered for hours. Chicken: As bland and dry as a paper towel. Nachos: Instead of a prepared dish, we got a tray of chips, plastic cups of toppings, and two small bowls of mediocre meat. We did a take out order. Two hours. The food was delicious. The pulled pork was the best, turkey ok, brisket pretty good. It's very expensive. The hot wings were great. My bbq pork and chicken and my nephews brisket only tasted smoked and no bbq taste at all. They scarfed down their food in record time (I thing they liked it!), with great smacking of lips. My food was good, but had some issues. The chicken was moist and had nice smoke flavor, but the skin was really, really, really tough. The sausage definitely had a nice brisket flavor with just the right amount of heat inside and smoke outside. I'd definitely order it again! My sides were a mixed bag. Mac and cheese was pretty tasteless, but the greens were right up there with any I ever enjoyed in the Deep South. I normally like to add pepper vinegar; these didn't need it. Excellent! Came here Thursday night for dinner. Erin, our server, gets five stars, never mind the food which gets five stars. So, really, I have to give them a 10 star review! Erin had our water, cornbread, and drinks on the table in a minute. One of my cousins, who is so impatient in restaurants, had nothing to complain about! Good start!
