    My burger brisket sliders

As you can see from my last July 2025 review this is another one of my top 10 favorites for happy hour. I was here with my friend for Friday happy hour. I enjoyed my two happy hour Makers Mark Manhattans for $9 each and my draft Guinness for $8. I also enjoyed my usual NFL two brisket burger sliders for $12. Their brisket and their variety of sauces is the best in this area. I especially enjoy their Carolina sauce. My total bill was $53.50 excluding gratuity. We agreed we will return here for happy hour.

A trip to the outlets ended up turning into an overnight stay in Bethany and this place came highly recommended by the locals. The restaurant itself is cute. It is two floors and there was a private party on the first floor so we were seated upstairs. We had a large party and I commend them for being able to accommodate 10 people for a walk in without a wait. Once we were seated, our waiter Nick greated us. I can honestly say he was the best part of the visit. He was young but had amazing customer service. He was attentive, funny, and helpful. The fact that he handled our entire party by himself was also pretty impressive. For started we had a few orders of deviled eggs, brisket nachos, and old bay butter wings. The nachos were a NO! They were dry and the brisket was bland. The opinions on the eggs were mixed. While I enjoyed them, a few others said they were too sour tasting. BUT THEM WINGS!!!! Omg some of the best I've ever had. They were cooked well and seasoned just as good! For my main course, I got the Blues Jambalaya. The description is what pushed me to order it but I wish I hadn't lol. It had literally no taste to it. I had to jazz it up with some salt & pepper but ultimately I couldnt finish it. Nick did bring us some cornbread which was soooo good, especially the butter it comes with. I also had an old fashioned mocktail which was an amazing version of the original without the liquior. For dessert, we had the red velvet cheesecake. Although it tasted good, it was partially frozen so that sucked. All and all, i'd revisit this place during a happy hour for the wings + cornbread. As mentioned, the service was the best part of the visit.

Incredible Food & Allergy-Friendly Service! We ordered from Bethany Blues BBQ through DoorDash while staying at an Airbnb, and I can honestly say--it was a standout meal of our trip! What impressed me most (besides the mouthwatering food) was their attention to food allergies, especially gluten. The online ordering system made it so easy to note allergies and special requests, and when our food arrived, each item was clearly labeled with the gluten allergy--a huge relief when you're managing dietary restrictions! I ordered the Chesapeake deviled eggs and a burger on a gluten-free bun, and both were delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked and stacked--I could barely get my mouth around it (in the best way possible!). My son had the half rack of BBQ ribs, and he raved about the flavor. The BBQ sauce had a nice kick without being overpowering. Everything arrived fresh, well-packaged, and with all the allergy details noted, which gave us total peace of mind. We'll absolutely order from Bethany Blues again--whether we're local or just passing through! Highly recommend if you're looking for delicious BBQ that doesn't compromise on quality or dietary accommodations!

This was my first time here and the food was amazing. The staff were kind and were very attentive to us having an allergy at the table. The atmosphere was welcoming and they were prepping for a live band. Will surely return again.

Great Atmosphere (5 ) It's Thanksgiving week and the place is packed with a line waiting for tables at 6 pm. It's two stories with an open pit in the middle, pretty neat. TVs on with sports channels playing. There's a flight of stairs at the entrance and also a lift, great accessibility to access the restaurant and the second level of tables Food (5 ) Delicious, great portion. The ribs and briskets were really good, well marinated and soft, and many ways to structure the plate. Service (5 ) Friendly service, bring out all the waters and check-in on us. She did made a wrong drink order but quickly rectified and brought back another one which was all is needed.

Great spot, tends to be crowded so food took a bit to come to our table but everything tasted delicious. Highly recommend the onion frizzles! They've got a nice ambiance inside, busy spot with plenty of room for parties, as well as TVs by the bar playing various sports and entertainment.

We came at 2PM on a Tuesday. It wasn't very busy, which I guess I now know wasn't a good sign. My boyfriend and I ordered the Carolina chopped pork. I would give it a 7.5/10. It was good, but I was just expecting more from a bbq place. My friend said that she liked the Caprese chicken sandwich, but the fries were cold. The collard greens were mediocre at best. The baked beans tasted like ketchup and had a syrup like consistency, yuck! The coleslaw was the better of the sides. The downstairs bar area is nice, but the dining seats and table weren't that clean when we went to sit down. The bathroom is all the way up stairs for some reason and to make it worse, the woman's bathroom was pretty gross. I won't be back.

Food was very tasty but what made my dining experience "off the charts" was the attention that our server Mike showed us the entire night. Every server in the restaurant tonight was constantly checking on their parties dining experience. The ambience was Awsome. I love the way every seat is a good seat to were you can see all the TV's in the restaurant. The "icing on the on the cake" was when JR came out and personally asked us about our food and experience...All I can say is Well Done Bethany Blues BBQ Pit 10 out of 10...See you soon!!

Brisket nachos, devil eggs & bbq combo platter
    James C.

Solid bbq for the area. Nice staff, good ambiance & good food. We had a bbq combo platter & brisket nachos. Even the picky little kids crushed the nachos without any prodding. Fries were good. Mac n cheese was basic, I would try something else next visit. I would also skip the sausage and get more brisket or some ribs. Bethanny BBQ in! Eating here will do everything but give you the blues.

The best meal we had in Bethany Beach. We stopped by mid-afternoon on a Monday for a snack. There was plenty of parking out front, and the restaurant was cool and uncrowded. My wife and I shared some baby back ribs with fries and baked beans. Everything, especially the ribs, was delicious. This will be one of our go-to places from now on.

Review for Heidaway - Bethany Beach, DE…read more It was the weekend after Memorial Day 2025--when the beach is still buzzing, but you can actually find parking and order a drink without elbowing someone in a straw hat. We rolled into Bethany Beach to kick off our summer, minus the chaos, and Heidaway was the first place that pulled us in with a wink and a steel drum beat. Right on the edge of the boardwalk, this place has big tropical energy. Think Key West meets Delaware--palm fronds, sea breeze, and the gentle background hum of fun. The outdoor seating is shaded but still breezy, like Mother Nature knows you want SPF without sweating through your shirt. And the music? Bright, beachy, and setting the scene for "yes, we are on vacation, thank you." Service? On point. From the friendly hostess to our magical waitress who somehow knew when we needed napkins, another round, or just a smile--everyone brought their A-game. No tourist trap vibes here. Just good, solid hospitality. Cocktails: We kicked off with a Moscow Mule, chilled in a classic copper mug and strong enough to make you forget your group chat's been blowing up since Tuesday. Spicy, refreshing, and just boozy enough to remind you you're off the clock. And the second drink? Let's call it the Mystery Mai Tai of Joy. We don't remember what was in it. We just know it was tropical, delicious, and made us say "we should move here" at least twice. The Food: Oysters Rockefeller - Baked to perfection, smothered in a creamy, herby sauce and topped with crispy breadcrumbs. The kind of dish that makes you lean back in your chair and toss your plate at a fireplace (if they had one) Lobster Roll & Fries - A buttery masterpiece. Generous chunks of lobster, golden toasted roll, and fries that nailed the crispy-soft ratio. They didn't hold back with the portions, and we didn't hold back either. Beet Salad - A beachy surprise hit. Sweet roasted beets, creamy goat cheese spread, and peppery arugula doing a power pose on the plate. It made us feel like we were balancing out the rest of the meal... even if dessert was already a foregone conclusion. If you're heading to Bethany and want to dodge the madness while still soaking up summer magic, Heidaway is a great spot. Come for the drinks, stay for the oysters, and let the ocean breeze convince you that everything is right in the world--even if only until Monday.

The crab dip was full of lump crab and paired well with the cracker. Wish there was more octopus in the other starter but had good antipasto like flavors. I got the double cut pork chop as my main and enjoyed. It was cooked well and I liked the balsamic on the plate, however I do wish it had some sauce to pair with. The potatoes were great and a crowd pleaser. Drinks were solid. The pear martini was fresh and sweet. Shirley temple was standard but could've been fizzier in my opinion. We split 4 desserts amongst us: key lime pie, honey cake, flourless chocolate cake, and a peach crumb cake. The honey cake is unique and had a great moist yet spongy texture. The pie was a runner up, we liked the tartness and thick crust. We do wish our server paid more attention to us especially in the beginning. We weren't offered any bread and felt like the wait for food was very long. Other tables who arrived after us had already got their entrees and desserts while we were still waiting for mains. He also didn't check up on us like he did with the surrounding tables. The young bus boy however was great and kindly helped us in between.

At that point, I started to eat with a fork, but didn't bother finishing my meal. Let's just say that I will go with my initial thoughts on cheese and scallops. I will summarize my four most recent happy hour off season visits. We were first here at the bar with my six family and friends. Well finally the off season happy hour half price dinner entrees have finally returned here starting around mid October with pretty much the same entrees and menu as last year. They subsequently updated the half price entrees in early November. All items have pretty much returned here except for some new entrees. The good news is that at least two new half price happy hour dinner entrees were added including the surf and turf with espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon with two skewered shrimps, yukon mash, tomato garnash with blue cheese in the middle of the tomato for $40 or half price for only $20. I never had espresso encrusted filet mignon, therefore I ordered and enjoyed mine medium rare. I could barely taste the encrusted espresso. I ended my dinner with my favorite Fiddlehead's draft honey porter for $6. My total bill was $111 with half price discount of $36.50 so my final bill was $77. On my second return I enjoyed my ahi tuna rice bowl with broccoli, ginger fried house rice, sprouts and ginger vinaigrette for $36 or half price for $18. My total bill was $72 excluding gratuity. On my third return I again enjoyed the espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare, but was over cooked to medium. I did not complain about returning my filet for a replacement, however I did show it to bartender Dennis. Next time I will order my filet rare. On my fourth return I enjoyed my usual cosmos and my ahi tuna rice bowl which was always properly cooked ahi style. Bartender Dennis always remembers I prefer a little extra spice, without me even asking for my Sriracha. Dennis recommended both of the above entrees. See my most recent pic of the new menu. Chef Cowan waved to me at the bar. Bartender Dennis served us very well supported by our usual excellent recommendations and conversations. Chandra and Cameron also said hello. The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On Black Friday I purchased another $1k in gift cards for the off season from Off The Hook and Hooked in OC. Needless to say we will continue to return here for happy hour to spend our $1k.
