    My happy hour NESK chicken

As you can see from my past 7 reviews this is one of my top 10 favorites for happy hour. I was here with my family of seven on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day. Jonathan seated us at a table for seven near the bar. I started with my usual two happy hour pineapple martinis. I enjoyed my blackened smash burger with fries. I also enjoyed my bold, dry, and roasty Baby Bob stout draft beer. Bartender Conner also stopped by to say hello. My total bill was $212 excluding gratuity. Hannah T. served us very well. We will continue to return here for happy hour.

After a very long drive up to Delaware yesterday we stopped in for dinner at the Northeast Seafood Kitchen. The place was packed and we would have had to wait about 30 minutes so we decided to eat outside. They had a covered patio with umbrellas on the side tables. It had stopped raining so we took a seat under the umbrellas. Once seated we enjoyed some delicious steamed clams with some lemon butter sauce that was outstanding. Unfortunately it started raining and we were still eating, we braved the weather and got soaked! But we enjoyed every minute of it anyway. The food was really good and the service was excellent, as the staff braved the weather to come out and serve us anyway. They had to walk through the rain to bring us our food, and they did it with a smile. Unfortunately the rain came down so hard the patio started to flood, we didn't care it was so warm out we stayed anyway. Lol! We had a blast!

Very nice patio seating and quality service. Smash burger and appetizers were the best thing on the menu. Seafood was slightly overpriced for the quality of the meal.

I'll start off by saying this is a beautiful restaurant inside, but for the price we paid for our lobster roll (very sad) burnt bun & hardly any lobster plus bland. Our friends got the chicken dish, wish looked more appetizing but odd being it's a seafood restaurant. We also got the crab dip which why it's served with chips, I've always had dip with bread so I did ask our server for some and they kindly brought it out. It was mostly cream cheese and hardly any crab again disappointed since our friends hyped this place up for seafood. I wish I would of taken more pictures but I was overall disappointed especially when you pay $43 for a lobster roll and it comes burnt and lacking meat. I've had better lobster rolls and for half the price. I don't know that I'd try this place again if I was in the area.

Fish and chips to the right of our son and buttered pasta enjoyed by both kids. Plenty to share!

I initially thought we were at the wrong place since the restaurant is located in a shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall decor and the ambiance from the moment we walked in. The whole team - from hosts, servers, kitchen crew - genuinely warm, friendly and inviting. Our family enjoy having meals together. The kids can get loud and excited. We do our best at dining out during odd hours or eating further from the general guests to ensure we all have a pleasant meal. With that said, the team provided our family with such a great time! They were gracious in providing us with free app since our server was late in taking our order. TBH, we did not even notice since we were just enjoying the outdoor seating. The kids were having fun in the open space. We ate the crab dip too quickly to share photos and unfortunately, same excuse for the specials steak my husband ordered. I was able to snap a photo of the buttered pasta. I had the seared halibut which was served still hot and perfectly moist in the middle. Fish can be hard to cook and can sometimes be overcooked that the middle is dry, not this one. We are grateful for the experience. Highly recommend especially for families on vacation.

Enjoyed a light dinner with fresh fish and cocktails. The meal came with bread and butter along with good service. We sat outside underneath an umbrella on a nice day.

Great, solid reliable seafood spot with rotating specials. Had the swordfish on my last trip which was excellent. Everyone happy with their food. Plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Get there ASAP! My family visited this restaurant during our Family Thanksgiving trip. We wanted a spot to grab a glass of wine and some light bites...OMG did we stumble upon a Gem. Everything and I mean everything was delish. The Mussels, the Fried Fish, the oysters, the Cornbread, the drinks! The bartender was the sweetest and completely awesome. I asked him to fix a drink using the local gin Blue Whale (becasue the bottle was so prettt) and he prepared the most delicious drink I ever had mixed with a rosemary infused syrup and basil cucumber. I told him to name it after me the Whale-Tina. Great experience, great restaurant

We pulled up to The Upscale Crab & Seafood Truck without expecting much because it's been so hard to find truly great seafood in Bethany and Ocean City. You'd think being so close to the ocean would mean amazing seafood is everywhere but that's definitely not the case. From the moment we arrived, Kevin made us feel welcome. His hospitality, honesty, and passion for his food are some of the best we've experienced in a long time. He took the time to explain every item on the menu, which includes crabs, crab cakes, lobster rolls, fried shrimp, fried fish, steamed shrimp, hand-cut fries, coleslaw, and hush crabbies. What really impressed us was his honesty. Instead of trying to sell us everything, Kevin recommended the items that were at their best that day. For example, he suggested skipping the fried fish because the day's catch wasn't as large as usual. Instead, he recommended the crab cake platter and the lobster roll. And even gave us a sample of the lobster roll which is delicious. We ended up getting a dozen large crabs, which he generously gave us a discount on, along with the crab cake platter. Every single bite was outstanding. The crabs were perfectly seasoned, and the crab cake was packed with fresh crab and absolutely delicious. Without a doubt, The Upscale Crab & Seafood Truck serves the best crabs and seafood we've had in Bethany Beach and Ocean City. I'll be in town for the next week, and this will absolutely be my go-to spot for seafood. If you're looking for fresh seafood, generous portions, and exceptional customer service, don't miss this place!

But they have a parking lot attendant helping to move cars in and out. Be prepared to wait but for our group of 2, we got sat in 25 min. I don't understand how restaurants nowadays don't do reservations but this one doesn't. Got the Ipswich clam sandwich - incredible, and a must get! I did have to look up what makes these fried clams different than regular - and I guess these are fried whole instead of strips. Makes them very juicy and a great texture. It was $30 which I don't mind but it came with a bag of chips and a $2 upcharge for fries. For a $30 sandwich... I feel they can include the fries or at least a homemade side. I got the clams linguine which was tasty but not particularly hot. While our specific waiter was great, the restaurant had some service issues, food took extra long (our waiter apologized) and something I ordered almost never came (waiter had to ask for it again). Not horrible but just somethings to work on. Overall, we'd come again but I'm sure it's easier in the off season!

Although I skipped the cocktails this time, we shared 18 Virginia Chunu raw oysters for $18. I also had the New England clam chowder ($8), though I personally prefer the version at the Fenwick location, and a plate of six delicious lobster deviled eggs ($12). Our bartender, Hannah S., was exceptionally friendly and provided top-notch service. The total bill came out to $55 before tip. We both had a great time and agreed that we'll definitely be back for another happy hour.

Our first visit took place on Mother's Day around 4:00 PM. Because brunch was still being served and dinner didn't begin until 4:15 PM, I booked a table for two, and we passed the time at the bar. We caught some live music while I enjoyed a $16 Maker's Mark Manhattan before settling the bar tab. Once dinner service opened at 4:15 PM, we were seated inside at table 45 to escape a breezy outdoor deck. It turned out to be the debut day for their new menu. I ordered another $16 Maker's Mark Manhattan and the $36 seafood stew--a rich combination of fish, clams, shrimp, fennel, pepper, onion, Spanish chorizo, and tomato seafood broth accompanied by grilled bread. It was a generous portion, so I brought the remaining stew home to enjoy later that evening. To conclude the meal, I tried the Lucky 7 porter from Evolution Craft Brewing Company ($7), which featured dark dried fruit and sweet toffee tones balanced by notes of chocolate, coffee, and smoke. Our server, Brendan V., did an excellent job caring for us and demonstrated great knowledge of the new menu, even while managing a large outdoor table with five children. Our total bill for that evening came to $114, excluding gratuity. We returned on Memorial Day for a second dinner, this time in a group of five that included family and a friend visiting from Scottsdale, AZ. Since the outdoor fire tables were completely full, we secured a table on the left side of the restaurant. I began with a spicy mango margarita for $14, which featured tequila, mango, lime, agave, jalapeno, and a tajin rim, and opted for the $36 seafood stew once again. Unfortunately, the cocktails were inconsistent this time; I ordered a Maker's Mark Manhattan up, but it tasted like watered-down bourbon. When a second Manhattan tasted exactly the same, I decided to cancel the order. Nevertheless, our server Nadine K. provided excellent service throughout the evening, and our bill came out to $92 before gratuity. Ultimately, we all agreed that we would gladly visit again.

This is still a hotel restaurant, and a mediocre one at best. The good . . . great views of the Atlantic and decent drinks. The bad . . . just about everything else. I'll preface this by saying that I was not going to write a review despite the underwhelming experience, but after the final straw, I simply can't resist. We started with a round of cocktails that were attractive and well mixed. The night was off to a good start. Unfortunately, it was downhill from there. Appetizers were fried cauliflower and calamari. Entrees were crabcakes, a Caesar salad topped with a crabcake, seafood bucatini, and seafood stew. Service was indifferent at best. Server did not offer any specials until asked and did not know how to handle problems (see below). The appetizers came out and were fine. The cauliflower was fried, but not as crispy as a really good fried cauliflower. The chipotle aioli had a nice flavor. Calamari was well fried, but the sauce was overly salty. Then came the entrees. The seafood bucatini was the highlight in that it was perfectly acceptable. For $52, I expect a meaty crabcake with lots of jumbo lump. This crabcake was loaded with filler. As for the caesar salad, the menu says it comes with "Shaved parmesan, anchovies, croutons, house made caesar dressing." But the salad came out with no croutons. When we asked the server, he said they ran out of croutons and he needed to bring the manager over to offer a solution (which turned out to be sunflower seeds, smashed cashews, and leftover bread from the kitchen - when we said we'll take them, the server said we may be charged for keeping all three). Lettuce was also the top of the romaine, which was mushy and needed the non-existent croutons to save it. Then there's the seafood stew. The bowl came out with no spoon and no bread (and no plate for shells, but I guess that's not a necessity). They brought a spoon when asked, but said it doesn't come with bread, and we would need to order bread if we wanted it. Seemed odd, but okay. The broth was ridiculously salty and borderline inedible. We paid and left feeling like it was fine, but we probably won't return on future visits to Bethany. Then we checked the menu to see what it said about the seafood stew. Sure enough, it is supposed to come with "grilled bread." Perhaps they ran out of it with the croutons, but to say we would need to order it separately reflects a lack of knowledge of the menu, complete indifference, blatant lying, or all of the above. Beyond that, the pop music was far too loud for a restaurant that wants to be a decent restaurant. The view was nice, but I feel like I just threw my money into the ocean.
