    Usda Prime Filet Mignon*
    Judy L.

For a beach steak house, this place was disappointing. Filet Mignon was not worthy of $58 price tag. My son's steak was crazy well done. The brussel sprouts were the biggest disappointment. They were steamed and tough to eat. We ate one and stopped. Seems lazy of the chef to not pan fried with some char. No wonder the restaurant was totally empty.

    Delmonico Steak

We started with the $10 bread service, which should set the tone at a restaurant positioning itself as premium; instead, the bread was dry and barely edible. The oysters were fine--fresh enough and, as most diners know, hard to mess up--so no complaint there. The Delmonico steak ($135) was marketed to us as a special by our server as 32oz and bone-in (I'm still confused who serves a $135 steak with onion rings on top?). We ordered it medium-rare, but it came out rare, which is a basic miss for a cut that's supposed to be the star of the meal. We added a crab cake as a supplement, and it was cold in the center, another straightforward preparation issue (especially considering we're in Bethany Beach... this is where Crab Cakes should shine!!!). The Brussels sprouts were the only item at our table without a complaint; they were properly cooked and seasoned. Our check came to roughly $270, including tip, which felt absurd for the quality delivered. That pricing might make sense if the kitchen consistently nailed fundamentals, but our meal didn't meet that standard. The restaurant advertises humidity-controlled storage for USDA Prime steaks--a detail that implies precision and care--yet the kitchen failed to cook our steak to the requested temperature. Careful storage and premium sourcing are irrelevant if execution on the line doesn't follow through; a rare steak when medium-rare is requested, and a cold-center crab cake, are not nitpicks but essential issues. At this price point, diners reasonably expect accurate temps, hot food served hot, and clarity in labeling, especially for a flagship steak. To be clear, our server, Lisbeth, was lovely--professional, friendly, and attentive throughout (I leave it for another day to discuss being gaslit that my steak was indeed medium rare). My concerns are squarely with kitchen execution and the overall value proposition. I want to see this place succeed, and the path forward seems simple: cook steaks to the requested temperature, verify hot items are hot before they leave the pass, and ensure the menu clearly communicates what's being served--particularly on bone-in weights for premium cuts. Focus on cooking to temp before premium add-ons and steak-program talking points. If those basics are tightened up, the price and the marketing might finally align with the experience.

Great food for my birthday celebration. The seafood was so fresh and the sauces to die for. We got steamed clams and Seafood Stew and Seafood Spaghetti. Great! Also the cheesecake for my birthday dessert was light and fluffy. Definitely a must visit if in Bethany!

Shout out to Harvest Tide Steakhouse Restaurant & their Thursday $19.99 Filet Night & half price bottle of wine special! It was outstanding! Mom & Dad both said this was one of the best steaks they've had in a long time. Beautiful dining room & outstanding service by Skylar, Manager & owner? the warm & talented Donna, friendly bartender Austen and jocular host Chris. Great value! Filet is usually $57. We've got my nephew in town tomorrow & definitely will go back! My only negative, the dehydrated lemons looked super cool, but didn't really offer much in flavor. Great job Harvest Tide Steakhouse Restaurant!!!

Parmesan Brussels Sprouts*- really bad, soggy, boiled and gross. No crisp whatsoever

Overall meal was just okay, atmosphere is nice and well decorated. The Frisee Caesar* was awful, dressing was very very fishy , hard to consider this really a Caesar salad. It was literally shredded lettuce and fish paste. And the "garlic toast" has no garlic on it whatsoever. The worst Brussel sprouts I've ever gotten at a restaurant. The actual meal itself was not bad (filet and burger) which is why they get 3 stars, but i probably won't come back

So glad that we were able to score a table first two at Harvest Tide on a busy Friday night. There is such a wide variety of items on the menu. The restaurant is located on the second floor above the main strip in Bethany steps away from the beach. It has music but the noise level is not too bad. The food is good. Order the fried calamari, the popcorn scallops, the kale salad, the watermelon radish salad, cheese covered Brussels Sprouts and mushroom risotto. A lot of smaller plates equal a large dinner which is perfect if you are looking for something not too heavy on a hot summer evening. Shout out to Christian who was the most attentive server we encountered. His attentiveness was appreciated.

Review for Heidaway - Bethany Beach, DE…read more It was the weekend after Memorial Day 2025--when the beach is still buzzing, but you can actually find parking and order a drink without elbowing someone in a straw hat. We rolled into Bethany Beach to kick off our summer, minus the chaos, and Heidaway was the first place that pulled us in with a wink and a steel drum beat. Right on the edge of the boardwalk, this place has big tropical energy. Think Key West meets Delaware--palm fronds, sea breeze, and the gentle background hum of fun. The outdoor seating is shaded but still breezy, like Mother Nature knows you want SPF without sweating through your shirt. And the music? Bright, beachy, and setting the scene for "yes, we are on vacation, thank you." Service? On point. From the friendly hostess to our magical waitress who somehow knew when we needed napkins, another round, or just a smile--everyone brought their A-game. No tourist trap vibes here. Just good, solid hospitality. Cocktails: We kicked off with a Moscow Mule, chilled in a classic copper mug and strong enough to make you forget your group chat's been blowing up since Tuesday. Spicy, refreshing, and just boozy enough to remind you you're off the clock. And the second drink? Let's call it the Mystery Mai Tai of Joy. We don't remember what was in it. We just know it was tropical, delicious, and made us say "we should move here" at least twice. The Food: Oysters Rockefeller - Baked to perfection, smothered in a creamy, herby sauce and topped with crispy breadcrumbs. The kind of dish that makes you lean back in your chair and toss your plate at a fireplace (if they had one) Lobster Roll & Fries - A buttery masterpiece. Generous chunks of lobster, golden toasted roll, and fries that nailed the crispy-soft ratio. They didn't hold back with the portions, and we didn't hold back either. Beet Salad - A beachy surprise hit. Sweet roasted beets, creamy goat cheese spread, and peppery arugula doing a power pose on the plate. It made us feel like we were balancing out the rest of the meal... even if dessert was already a foregone conclusion. If you're heading to Bethany and want to dodge the madness while still soaking up summer magic, Heidaway is a great spot. Come for the drinks, stay for the oysters, and let the ocean breeze convince you that everything is right in the world--even if only until Monday.

The crab dip was full of lump crab and paired well with the cracker. Wish there was more octopus in the other starter but had good antipasto like flavors. I got the double cut pork chop as my main and enjoyed. It was cooked well and I liked the balsamic on the plate, however I do wish it had some sauce to pair with. The potatoes were great and a crowd pleaser. Drinks were solid. The pear martini was fresh and sweet. Shirley temple was standard but could've been fizzier in my opinion. We split 4 desserts amongst us: key lime pie, honey cake, flourless chocolate cake, and a peach crumb cake. The honey cake is unique and had a great moist yet spongy texture. The pie was a runner up, we liked the tartness and thick crust. We do wish our server paid more attention to us especially in the beginning. We weren't offered any bread and felt like the wait for food was very long. Other tables who arrived after us had already got their entrees and desserts while we were still waiting for mains. He also didn't check up on us like he did with the surrounding tables. The young bus boy however was great and kindly helped us in between.

We were here in March on a Sunday at 2 PM for happy hour at the bar with our friends. We were able to get 5 bar stools in a row. The bar area is relatively unchanged except for some new paint, however the two adjacent dining areas to the left and right of the bar were totally renovated and painted white with a much cleaner and brighter appearance. I enjoyed my usual 2 rum punches for $10 each and my usual happy hour broiled blackened flounder fish sandwich with tomato, red onion, lettuce, french fries, cole slaw and tartar sauce for $12. I opted for their hot sauce on my flounder and french fries. Bartender Andrea F. served us very well as usual. Consistency is a character of this restaurant. My total bill was $77 excluding gratuity. We are vegetarians and were dining outside with our Samoyed service dog. We requested a very minor modification to a menu item -- removing turkey and substituting two eggs over easy, since there were very limited vegetarian protein options available. Our waitress kindly informed us they did have eggs, but later explained that the chefs "do not make substitutions" because that is simply how they operate. What made the situation frustrating was that the restaurant was mostly empty at the time, so it did not appear to be an issue of being overwhelmed or unable to accommodate a reasonable dietary request. We spoke with the manager but never received a clear explanation or any attempt to work with us. For a restaurant that presents itself as accommodating and upscale, the unwillingness to make such a simple vegetarian substitution felt unnecessarily rigid and not particularly customer-friendly. The outdoor seating was pleasant, and the waitress herself tried to help, but the overall experience left us disappointed. Restaurants today should be able to accommodate basic vegetarian requests, especially when they are simple and reasonable.

As you can see from my more than ten past reviews over 4 years and my last review in August 2025…read morethis is now one of my top three happy hour restaurants during the off season. I will summarize my four most recent happy hour off season visits. We were first here at the bar with my six family and friends. Well finally the off season happy hour half price dinner entrees have finally returned here starting around mid October with pretty much the same entrees and menu as last year. They subsequently updated the half price entrees in early November. All items have pretty much returned here except for some new entrees. The good news is that at least two new half price happy hour dinner entrees were added including the surf and turf with espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon with two skewered shrimps, yukon mash, tomato garnash with blue cheese in the middle of the tomato for $40 or half price for only $20. I never had espresso encrusted filet mignon, therefore I ordered and enjoyed mine medium rare. I could barely taste the encrusted espresso. I ended my dinner with my favorite Fiddlehead's draft honey porter for $6. My total bill was $111 with half price discount of $36.50 so my final bill was $77. On my second return I enjoyed my ahi tuna rice bowl with broccoli, ginger fried house rice, sprouts and ginger vinaigrette for $36 or half price for $18. My total bill was $72 excluding gratuity. On my third return I again enjoyed the espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare, but was over cooked to medium. I did not complain about returning my filet for a replacement, however I did show it to bartender Dennis. Next time I will order my filet rare. On my fourth return I enjoyed my usual cosmos and my ahi tuna rice bowl which was always properly cooked ahi style. Bartender Dennis always remembers I prefer a little extra spice, without me even asking for my Sriracha. Dennis recommended both of the above entrees. See my most recent pic of the new menu. Chef Cowan waved to me at the bar. Bartender Dennis served us very well supported by our usual excellent recommendations and conversations. Chandra and Cameron also said hello. The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On Black Friday I purchased another $1k in gift cards for the off season from Off The Hook and Hooked in OC. Needless to say we will continue to return here for happy hour to spend our $1k.
