This remains one of my top five spots for happy hour at the bar or dining with family, thanks to more than ten past visits showing how great it is inside or out. Here is a breakdown of my two most recent experiences. During a solo outing with a friend, we arrived just before 4 PM to grab two coveted bar stools right as happy hour began, which now starts at 4 PM instead of 3 PM. I went with my usual two happy hour pepper creek punches and paired them with the happy hour fried chicken sandwich, adding a side of very good hand-cut fries for an extra $2. The portion was large enough that I brought half of the sandwich home for lunch. Bartender Trevor offered a sample of their malty nitro center of gravity english mild draft beer (4.5% ABV), and I loved the notes of toffee, chocolate, and toasted bread so much that I ended my dinner with two full glasses. Thanks to excellent service from bartenders Bill and Trevor, my solo total came out to a reasonable $36 before tip. On my next visit, I brought my family of four on a Wednesday around 6 PM. We were instantly accommodated at booth table 53 on the right side of the restaurant. They had recently updated their regular menu, and I decided to try the Korean beef bowl for $24, which features soy marinated sliced steak, vegetables, greens, an umami glaze, a fried egg, and spicy mayo served over basmati rice. Our server, Cate J., took wonderful care of us, and the total bill for the family was $152 excluding gratuity. Whether for happy hour or dinner, we will absolutely keep coming back. read more

Ocean View Brewing Co is an oasis of a restaurant in a small coastal adjacent town! Right outside of Bethany Beach, Ocean View Brewing brings vacation flair to an otherwise complacent town of small, unassuming businesses. With a bright bold colors and stunning architecture, the restaurant stands out on the corner. A huge mural of Delaware beckons the local purity. Inside you are greeted by huge brewing equipment in a two story grand dining room, filled with happy families and bustling servers! We always order takeout and they graciously save close parking spots for carryout orders. The online ordering allows for easy modifications and simple ordering. We grabbed a smorgasbord of flavors and made the entire family happy. The Fried Chicken meal comes with famous Delaware chicken and some fun twists of Gochuchang sauce and honey butter rolls. The fried food traveled well and is expertly packaged. On their website, they advertise Beer Battered Shrimp - and by simply calling in, the manager was able to add an order to our meal! Simple entrees. Bold flavors. Definitely a place worth frequenting on your Bethany Beach vacations. read more

We had an excellent lunch with our visiting family from Philly! Chris, Mgr, happily greeted us upon entry and immediately walked us to our table. It was the perfect seating arrangement for the 8 of us. We shared wings and a pretzel amongst us and beers & orange crushes. I told everyone how good the burgers are and fried chicken. Everyone loves a good burger and they all enjoyed one! The kids shared a burger and chicken tenders. My wife had a excellent chicken salad sandwich Matt was our server and he was absolutely amazingly fantastic!! So attentive to all of us, especially laughing with the kids. I have eaten at this restaurant many times and each and every time I get the kitchen sink salad (they took it off of the menu for a short amount of time but brought it back because of all of the requests so that tells you something), anyways last night I tried the burger, my husband's favorite. They had gluten free buns which is a great treat for me! I got the burger and WOW! Think of this as the best homemade double patty Big Mac-ish burger you've ever had. The sauce, the pickles, the cheese --- oh my -- it was good. I am not even a big lover of the burger -- I know that I am in the minority here -- but OV Brewing might have converted me! Great location but almost everything on the menu is fried. The food is hit or miss, the wine pours are very small for what they charge. The bar is always super crowded at happy hour so you can never get a seat. The restaurant does have a nice vibe, lots of parking and super clean. There are much better places to eat than this brewery. Most likely won't return. read more

This place is gas ! Started with the OVB wings and all three of us devoured the plate pretty quickly. Man they are so freaking good! Two of us ordered off the "daily lunch menu " the Greek salad , with your choice of protein, I got salmon and my brother got Chicken . The vinaigrette salad dressing so complemented this Greek salad and the citrus glazed salmon melted in my mouth . Another friend got the cod sandwich with pickled red cabbage off the menu and she said it was off the hook good. First time at Ocean View Brewing. I didn't order food so this review is solely based off of the venue, the beer, and the service. The building is beautiful with plenty of parking. It features a nice, big bar with overflow bar seating, plenty of tables, and a wide open kitchen -- which I love. The menu is diverse and there are plenty of unique options to choose from. Tried 4 different beers, two New England Hazy IPAs (Taking Water & Ocean View IPA), Got Waves Kolsch, and a shandy. Beer was great. Loved the NEIPAs. Service was also very good as the bartender was friendly and gave some great recommendations. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area (vacationing from NJ). read more

We received the best service of the 4th of July week from Brendan. He walked me through all the beers on tap and made a suggestion that was spot on for my selective palate. He recommended the Bavarian pretzel for my picky husband which he loved the beer cheese. We shared the fish tacos with flounder that was crispy and fresh loved the citrus avocado whip, and a Caesar salad with blackened chicken - perfect. My friend ordered a specialty cocktail that wasn't to her liking and Brendan noticed that she wasn't drinking it, he offered her an alternative which was just what she was looking for. After a week of mediocre service Brendan and OVBC made our vacation. Looking forward to going back to see them soon! read more

Had a quick lunch at this brewery. Had the Kolsch to drink and Old Bay shrimp and grits to eat. The beer was excellent and the shrimp and grits fantastic. Not busy at even for a Friday, but I'm sure that will change as the summer approaches. Bar tender was great and offered good advice on food and drink options. We hunted down and spoke to another wait person, and then we went and found the manager, and still had to wait. It was very uncomfortable to have someone in our party for so long not have their meal, and the fact that no workers were helping us was disconcerting. When they finally brought the food they took it off our bill and apologized profusely. Some communication would have gone a long way. read more

At the Ocean View Brewery ambiance and service are wonderful. My review is for food only as I don't drink beer. We were here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in October. It was fairly quiet with plenty of tables, booths and bar space available. As far as my food, I was less than impressed. Perhaps, I ordered the wrong item, but stay away from the Chicken Cheesesteak. It was very dry, hardly any cheese and came with some sort of ranch-horseradish sauce for dipping. Overall it was a thumbs down. My husbands burrito was much better, but I question the $26 price point for a burrito that comes with absolutely no sides. For drinks we ordered the Root Beer, which was really good. Our waiter brought us out refills, which we thought were free. But, were not. So, at $5/glass that quickly added up. read more

Visited Oceanview for dinner while on vacation in Bethany Beach. It was around 6:30 when we arrived and the place was packed. Rather than wait for a table, we were able to score 2 bar seats. The server let us sample a few beers before committing. I really enjoyed their summer ale. Their menu is pretty eclectic. We opted to start with the street corn nachos w/ chili con carne. The nachos were tasty and a very big portion but way too many beans in the chili. Since we were so full from the nachos, we only ordered another snack to share - the pork egg rolls. They were also tasty but a bit oily. If we were to go again, I'd be interested in trying their sloppy joe dandan noodles. It was a fun vibe there and service was good. read more

What should be the crown jewel of SODEL restaurants is absolutely the very worst. I have eaten here 4 times now and the food quality has been consistently poor! I'm not sure who is cooking at this restaurant but the ownership group needs to hire someone who knows food! Tonight we had deviled eggs and hummus for an appetizer- Both were so poor, hummus was dry and tasteless and the eggs were barely edible. My wife and I both had the chopped BLT salad and the dressing had absolutely no taste. Chicken parm terrible, grits actually crumbled they were so dry! Again 4 times i've spent considerable money with a bad end result. Just look at the menu it's so disjointed and weird and then to have the food taste so bad is a shame. The menu is pretty large with most options in the $20-30 range for mains, but a few more affordable options with the burger at $15 (option to add fries for $2 extra). It comes with two smashed patties and a phenomenal sauce. This burger DID NOT DRIP but was also not dry at all. Perfect blend of flavors. I would highly recommend the burger (fries optional, they were very hot which I love but could take or leave them) and the sour beer option, which had hints of strawberry and watermelon. My family went for Mothers Day Brunch, so the menu was a little bit different than what you may see on the Lunch or Dinner menu. But I can vouch by what I ordered. For my main dish I ordered the Old Bay Shrimp Carbonara. Excellent. Al dente pasta, perfectly cooked shrimp. A little under-salted, but that is easily remedied to taste. My mother ordered a rather luxurious French Toast with strawberry compote and a creamy topping that had the entire table in an uproar. They also served a rather nice classic bacon and eggs for the most traditionalist of the diners at my table. Service, as I've found at almost all the Beachy locations in Delaware, was extremely attentive. You never had to flag down a server. They were always at you elbow to top off your drink or grab a condiment. Would come again. read more

Came here on the tail end of vacation for a few brews. Left absolutely blown away. Read some reviews about the burger and decided to order that with bacon and a side of fries ($2 up charge for each) worth it. Also had the Got Waves? kolsch, which won some awards in 2022. The burger was hands down the best I've ever had! 2 smash patties, house sauce, red onion on perfectly toasted buns. The smoked bacon was taking away from the flavor so I removed it about halfway through. Overall the patties were cooked to perfection and they meshed well with the ingredients - this burger is literally a 10/10 no question. Fries were crispy and fresh. The ranch has a hint of thyme but it is good if you like a change of pace. I can also see why the beer has won awards it was amazing. Service and food was amazing, the AC works well so if you are eating inside and get cold easily pack a long sleeve. Will be a go to if hungover or ready for some drinks. Ocean View Brewery has been such a super addition to the restaurant scene in Bethany Beach / Ocean View and to our local community! Excellent grub, great brews, and super service! The menu is ever changing because they shop local and serve both seafood and Sussex Co. fried chicken. But my favorite is the Chickpea Hummus app. Soooo good! One of the few places open for lunch, too! Check out their second season specials, if you're a year-rounder or a frequent visitor - they're worth it. Sodel rarely disappoints. With "Brewing" in their name, you might expect the establishment to be dog friendly (as has been my experience), especially in a beach town. However, Ocean View Brewing & its second location, Thompson Island Brewing, both prohibit dogs on their outside patios. Additionally, charging $25 for a burrito is highway robbery. read more

There were 6 gnocchis, a few mushrooms, vegetables and a ton of butter. My friend ordered the street corn nachos.
