First off, there's no Ocean View, just in case that's important to you. The place was cute inside and the staff was nice. Prices were higher than expected, as much as $15 or even more for some dishes. I had eggs florentine and I'd give the place five stars if my eggs were cooked. Gah! Delicious and great service for breakfast! Arrived around 10am on a summer Sunday morning and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Small parking lot out front that we were easily able to get a spot. While not as cheap as your average diner spot, the food was yummy and I recommend the breakfast burrito. read more

Good breakfast, large selection on menu for anytime meals. Does tend to be very busy at breakfast but there is a few seats to wait.

Came with a large group on Saturday morning (split between several tables) and did not have a great experience. The server didn't seem willing to help with allergies, and the kitchen staff didn't know half of what was in their food. It took forever for our food and drinks to come out and they forgot about our friend's Mountain Dew. We reminded them about it and they finally brought it out 45 minutes after he had ordered. When my food finally came out, it was cooked unevenly with parts of it being cold and other parts being hot and did not taste like other Egg Benedicts I've had in the past. The hollandaise sauce tasted rubbery, and I had to add hot sauce, salt, and pepper free for it to even be edible. I had a few friends try my food too cause I wasn't sure if it was just my taste buds that were off that day and everyone agreed that something was not right about it, which was too bad because it looked pretty good. We live close by and have eaten there several times. I believe ownership has changed hands at least once in the past 5 years. Food is plentiful and good, knowing it is a "beach" restaurant with a counter and seating for about 20 or so people. This is our go to place for tasty breakfasts with that extra fresh flavor and generous portions. Lunches as well and now they are even bringing that homestyle flavor with a culinary flare to dinners as well. So worth giving a try. We weren't disappointed. My husband ran into one of the owners and he encouraged us to come and try the "new" OVR. Don't like to write negative reviews - will start with positive - good waiter and iced tea. The chicken salad, taters and fries were good. In the spirit that I hope this makes it better.... My Rye Bread was completely dried and out and hard - despite my order of no toasting - I watched them put in toaster... they told me it was hard as a brick because it was sitting under the warming lights.... why would you put a cold sandwich under the warmer lights? My husband ordered they chicken cheese steak - stale bread and literally a piece of chicken that took up a quarter of roll. He told me it was like eating a mayo/lettuce sub. Wish we would have tried OVR earlier in the summer! Stopped by last night for a late dinner and wow...what a great dinner. Menu is varied, prices are reasonable for their high quality food and the portions are very generous, we could have easily split an entree and still be full. I had the schnitzel and mashed potatoes and both were home made and delicious. The shrimp and grits portion was huge and perfectly cooked. We didn't have room for dessert but am sure the peach donut bread pudding would have been delicious. We will definitely be back and so glad we found this gem! read more

Disappointed in the service. Like most of the restaurants in the area, my wife and I waited 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated we were given menus. About 5 minutes later another couple was seated at the table next to us and were also given menus. A waiter immediately went to the other couple and took their drink order. A few minutes later he brought their drinks out and began to take their food order. Meanwhile my wife and I were still waiting for someone to take our drink order. This is going to sound strange but this was the best tasting eggs, bacon, and potatoes that I've eaten in a long long time. Now when you go there, you might think this is a "greasy spoon" diner but let me tell you this little gem is worth the trip. We came some what early at 5pm...we literally were the only ones in the place, parking lot empty. By 6pm it started to get busy. But my sister and I were going to a local theater for a show and wanted seafood. Let me tell you the chef didn't disappoint with the creativity of flavors. My sister had the seared scallops with curried rice and sauteed asparagus. So delish. It was unusual. There was a spice in there I couldn't put my finger on. But so good. I had the seafood risotto with crab, shrimp and scallops. Wow! What a flavor punch to the mouth. So creamy. Yummo. They both were beautifully garnished with a watermelon radish and some micro greens. Lovely. We had a sweet server named Leah who checked on us numerous times but didn't hover (which I hate) she was just right. Always a smile on her face. The ladies restroom dispenser was out of toilet paper (had some spares sitting on the back of the lid), so when I told one of the servers they immediately went and checked on it and didn't blow me off. Very good in the category of diners--mom and pop restaurant where you can get a bang for your buck. Spinach, tomato, cheese omelette was great! I learned a new business model while dining at OVR. I ordered a simple breakfast, eggs over easy and well done homefries. The waitress told me they only prepare the homefries one way. I thought wow, that's interesting, it's your way or nothing. When I got my meal the eggs were dried out and homefries not done to my liking. Once we received those we were approached by a waitress and placed our meal order. I like a traditional breakfast so I went went the #2 and opted for ham and wheat toast. This was a decent dish with no frills but certainly filling. My spouse got the blueberry pancakes with bacon and she really enjoyed the pancakes. They were filling and tasted really good.
