Been wanting to try this place for a while. When we came to town again, we decided it was time to check it out. Let's start with some positives. The location is wonderful, located right in the town of Bethany. We sat outside on a nicely done patio that was relaxing and perfect for the weather. The waitress was very accommodating and well trained. She asked about allergies and made sure we had what we needed. When we did not like a dish, they did comp us, which was unexpected. The negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives as we do not intend to eat there in the future. First, it was very overpriced for a tapas place. Each tapa was about 22-25 dollars. These were not a reasonable price for tapas. We ended up leaving hungry. The food was presented very nicely, however, the food lacked in flavor and execution. The tapas all had good concepts but none were great and some were simply bad. The cauliflower was coated in something that made it taste burnt. The gnocchi were not even gnocchi and the dish lacked balance as it was super sweet. The scallops were well cooked but the mushrooms and corn had no flavor. The bison sliders were decent but the buns were hard and burnt and the slider had no sauce. The tuna crudo was probably the best one but it was very oily. Again, good concepts, just poor execution. Cocktails were upwards of 16 dollars and a glass of wine was about the same. I could walk down the street and get a drink for much less. We got other people's food twice as they have people carrying out food that aren't our server. I wish I could rate this place higher but it is not worth the money they are charging. read more

In town for one night before the holiday weekend so it was still quiet. We saw good reviews for this small place and gave it a try without a reservation. We opted to dine at the bar and had a good conversation with the bartender who took our order. They had some exotic drinks on the menu but too pricey for my taste so I stuck with a Kolsch draft. We both ordered the tacos since we wanted something light. My wife got hers with yellowfin tuna and I got mine with blackened shrimp. Both versions were delicious and reasonably priced. The menu in general is pricey but typical for a beach touristy area near the big east coast cities. read more

We had heard good things but it did not quite reach our expectations. I ordered a $15+ glass of basic chardonnay and was given a rather short pour. It fell below the logo which I believe should be the target.The tagliatelle was too salty. My husband wanted the duck but they were out of it by 7pm on a Thursday. He ordered the halibut and said it was good. Our friend ordered the shrimp and grits and liked it. Our dinner companion also liked her cocktail. The goat cheese and the jalapeño apps were good. The coconut pone bread was just okay. More like a dessert. Service was pretty good. It was also rather loud. Hard to hear some of our conversation. Don't think we would go back. read more

We sat at their garden seat - which was outside at the sidewalk The apps took a long time - we got the crab, cauliflower and fries. All were just fine - our fav were the fries. The meals came out sporadically which was annoying. They ran out of chicken tenders. The beet salad is frisée which I didn't like at all. My group didn't like the tacos either. They were nicely presented but the filling was lacking in flavor and abundance. The last thing that happened which was the BIGGEST deal was when someone flew to our table to tell us that there were tree nuts in some of the dishes (my daughter has an allergy). Staff was relieved to find that my daughter wasn't eating the item with nuts. It could have been an off night on all accounts but I don't know if I will give it another try read more

We were in town for the MDW holiday and were looking for a close and walkable restaurant from our hotel and we found a winner! We also totally lucked out without having a reservation and got two seats at the bar. The hostess was super nice and gave us plenty of time before a reservation was due at 7pm. Shout out to the two, super-awesome bartenders who made our dinner even more enjoyable. For a small restaurant, it seemed like they made 1000 drinks while we had dinner! I wish my phone didn't die and I would have had more pictures. But I'll tell you that the food here is amazing and you can see they really put a lot of work and care into every single ingredient. My husband even noticed the micro cilantro in the carrot tahini hummus! The ingredients are all busting with flavors. I had the swordfish, which was brown butter basted and very tasty and prepared with caramelized baby turnips & fennel- so good! My husband even noticed enjoyed his caesar and steak salad and we both ate every last drop. While we were kinda in the heat of everything.. busy bar and right next to the kitchen, the energy in the restaurant was amazing and you could tell the whole restaurant was working hard for the busy holiday crowd. Would likely avoid if you have food allergies. Although I frequently eat at restaurants that are easily able to make dish modifications for allergies, this was not the case at 14 Global. After asking our server questions about how specific dishes could be modified for my 2 food allergies, they consistently noted that the dishes either couldn't be modified (perhaps a lot of components are prepared in advance?) or that it "wouldn't be worth" me ordering the dish with the modifications. When I point blank asked the server if there were any dishes that they could recommend with the 2 food group allergies, the waiter thought for a long time and was unable to come up with a single suggestion from the entire menu. It was a struggle to even get them to agree to plate some skewers on a different plate to avoid contact with an allergen-containing component - they ultimately agreed, but only after I pushed back and asked why it was not physically possible to plate them separately. We almost left for a different restaurant. Have not had this tough of an ordering experience in decades of eating out at restaurants with only 2 food allergies that are otherwise easily accommodated at every other place I've been to. read more

Best meal of our week stay in the Rehobeth area. We will absolutely be back to 14 global and highly recommend this restaurant. Everything from the service, to the food presentations, the beverage selections and preparation, and to the ingredients, flavor profiles. WOW!!!!. This was the World Series home run of food for us. Out of all the places we've been and this is our second trip down to the Rehoboth area. This clearly is the number one on our list. So you're probably wondering what we had, I'll keep it light, just realize you need to go to experience it first yourself. For our drinks, I had the dragon- and squeezed lime, agave nectar, global habanero infused, El Velo tequila, orange cordial, red alla, salted rim and habanero on top and my wife enjoyed her glass of rosé wine. We started off with the beats and blue salad - roasted red and yellow beets, pickled berries, arugula, watermelon, radish, shallot, whipped, herb, goat cheese, supersede, crunch, basil, mint vinaigrette, it was outstanding, and what a beautiful presentation. Next, we ordered the Mexican Street corn gnocchi - ahi Amarillo and sweetcorn cream fire, roasted poblanos, baby tomatoes, charred, corn, relish, cotija, and micro cilantro, again outstanding and a beautiful presentation. Next, we ordered the harissa lamb chops, cooked medium rare - ras el hanout rubbed lamb, fennel, purée, lemony, mint cabbage, apricot and white raisin chutney and micro cilantro, this dish blew us away. The flavor profile was incredible, and then meat was so tender. And to wrap up our incredible dining experience, we ordered the Togarashi Hamachi Tataki- buttery, seared fish citrus, Ponzo vinaigrette, ginger, horseradish, aïoli, green papaya, watermelon, radish and fennel salad, green onion, toasted, sesame, and micro wasabi again this was outstanding. We had reservations for an early dinner at 14 global. We arrived with a 3 year old at 5:15 and were told our table was not ready. We waited for 15 minutes before our table was ready. There were other open tables in a quiet environment but the manager denied the suggestion from the host to rearrange guests for that evening. We ordered our food immediately after sitting down and the flavors and textures were good. From the look of it, we were unsure if the chicken was fully cooked my husband still ate it. My toddler had the pasta kids dish (with peas and corn) which she loved. The crispy cauliflower was a little bland but my 3 year old also liked it and I ended up dipping it in the street corn gnocchi sauce. There were some spicy peppers in the gnocchi dish but overall very good. I wished that there were roasted corn in there to make those flavors really pop. I did ask to omit the cilantro so maybe the flavors would be better for someone who is not cilantro-adverse. The coconut corn bread was gluten free and vegetarian and tasted more like a sweet cake. Everyone enjoyed it. We ended up taking chocolate tortes to go and enjoyed them on the playground across the street after my toddler became restless at her seat at the table. This place was a hidden gem in Bethany Beach! I can't believe I've run by it so many times without stopping in. We came in on a Saturday and were initially drawn to the extensive cocktail menu. The cocktails are all citrus-based, which is something I haven't ever seen before at a bar/restaurant. I ordered the Naked in the Desert cocktail, which was basically a spicy tequila sort of drink that was fruity and delicious. The kick was incredibly strong at first and then subsided. My husband ordered an old-fashioned style cocktail which he also loved. Both drinks were very strong! The food is tapas style and is meant to be shared. We loved the ahi tuna dip, the Brussels with pork belly and the pumpkin pone bread (which reminded us of French toast). The lamb chops were also super flavorful and tasty. It's been many months since my husband and I had a date night out without little ones and we were fortunate enough to visit 14 Global while on summer vacation recently. The menu intrigued me and wasn't sure if my better half would be as eager to eat here as he is not as adventurous as I and he wanted to have a water view. Delighted to report that this was one of the best culinary experiences we've had in many years. We didn't at all miss a water view. The menu, ambiance, decor, service, music are all well orchestrated and executed to thoughtfully provide a superior experience. The service was well timed, kind and professional. The outdoor patio was casual yet intimate. Sadly, we could not try everything on the menu. Every *single *bite was brilliant. Balance of flavors, quality of ingredients and presentation was impeccable. Our top favorite sharables were the lamb chops and scallops. The Brazilian Caipirinha was to die for, both the passion fruit and açaí cocktails. Manager was exceptionally kind when we waited a little bit for the last plate. We really enjoyed our meal here and feel like it's part of our core date night memories... a new standard for us I suppose :) Thank you, 100% recommend and will most certainly return. Everyone ordered drinks. Of note, I had the Twisted Whiskers (a take on Old Hat Gin) and my son had the most amazing Shirley Temple I have ever seen. From there Riley took us on quite the ride through the menu. We enjoyed: The Ahi Tuna Tartare -- This is a special dish with a very hidden, yet welcoming bite The Fried Goat Cheese Balls -- Wow -- Just Wow!! The Lamb Chops -- Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Not for us! This place seemed to use global seasoning that sounded interesting. It was our first visit and we probably won't return. It's just not our cup of tea. Some people love it. We had a hard time finding anything we wanted to order. I ordered a sangria that was like none I've ever tasted and never want to taste again - seasoned with clove and cinnamon nice if served warm around Christmas maybe but in August - ugh! The waitress raved that they fresh squeezed their fruit for their cocktails - "great what kind of crushes do you have?"- "we don't have crushes." We had reservations last night 14 global with our good friends for dinner and it was delicious! The restaurant has some unique menu offerings with something to please everyone. They offer a variety of options including apps, entrees and shareable items. They have a bunch of cocktails and beers to choose from too. So we started out with a couple of cocktails, both of which were delicious. I had their Pineapple Pico, which had a pineapple and strawberry pico on top and served in a fun pineapple glass. For our meal we went with the fried goat cheese balls, Mexican street corn gnocchi, and grilled steak mini beach tacos. Everything we had was pretty good and kept us coming back for more. The goat cheese balls were very creamy and came with some drizzled honey to give them some sweetness. The gnocchi was definitely unique but tasted great in the corn cream sauce. And you can never go wrong with a taco, so these were delicious and would be an easy item to order again on our next visit. Our friends also had some duck wings, crab dip, and yellow fin tuna. I sampled everything but the wings, and can attest those dishes were good as well. The service was quick and the dining experience was great. We just can't wait to make it back to sample more items. 14 Global is a small cool restaurant right near the Boardwalk of Bethany beach. It has indoor and outdoor dining options. Given its smaller size, I would recommend making reservations which you can do right through Yelp- very convenient. They have a variety of food options for both small and larger plates which easily satisfies any appetite. Double bonus is a specific kids menu! We sat indoors and the hostess and our server were very friendly- quick with taking drink and food orders considering the place was packed. Drinks were great- everything is freshly made and you can tell. I got a classic mojito as I had been craving this and it was wonderful! Who doesn't love fresh mint and lime juice with rum? My husband got their mule drink and equally enjoyed his. Our kids' food came out very quickly which is always a plus in our books. They had chicken tenders and fries and it also came with fresh peas and carrots- nice touch! We had a sirloin special entree and the shrimp and grits which is on their regular menu. The shrimp and grits was the winner in my eyes. Shrimp was done beautifully and melted in your mouth. The grits and sauce were also divine with the just right amount of spicy. The sirloin was okay- asked for medium rare and came more medium and fatty than we expected. The grits and veggies with it were excellent and the yogurt sauce which we opted to have on the side was a nice touch and carried a lot of heat to it. When looking for a good place for dinner in Bethany, 14 Global seemed to have good reviews. It's strange they don't have a website but regardless, we decided to give them a try. We made a reservation in advance which I would recommend, since the restaurant is not very big. They do have a few tables outside too. We were seated promptly and had a chance to look over the menu. We learned that this menu is more of a tapas style restaurant and things are brought out as they are ready as opposed to all at once. Orders in our party included: the elk burgers, fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. You get 3 elk burgers and fries. The burgers are sliders so on the smaller side. The fries were burnt and we should have sent them back. They tasted awful. The fish tacos were with mahi mahi. The tacos were delicious, although they truly are mini tacos. They really needed some guacamole or jalapenos to give it some heat. We also tried the Thai butterfly drink which was thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, it's a nice restaurant. The food is fresh and the staff are friendly. The service was prompt. I just wish they had better options when it comes to appetizers and that they portions were a bit bigger. Also, I know that having paper menus on the table is convenient but certainly not good for the environment! read more

Overall the food, ambiance and service are very good. All the food came out quickly and was very tasty. I would have given 5 stars but for the two following disappointments: (1) the scallop tapas only contained two scallops and cost $26; this extremely small portion was not noted on the menu nor did the server explain when we ordered the dish; and (2) the wine serving was very small. My friend gave the server the feedback, and they agreed about the scallops and management was going to look into it. The server said the wine serving is their standard amount. Enjoyed our recent dinner at 14 Global, a globally inspired tapas restaurant in Bethany Beach. The restaurant is fairly small, and parking is all street parking around the restaurant. Even in the off season we had to circle a bit to find a spot, so make sure you leave a little extra parking time if you're driving. We made a reservation on Yelp and it definitely seems that we needed it --- all of the indoor tables were full, and one brave family had even opted for their uncovered outdoor tables with heaters. We were seated immediately, and our friendly server, Kevin, was quick to greet us and take our drink order even though he was juggling half of the tablea in the busy restaurant. The cocktails were definitely a highlight of our meal. In addition to the standard beachy margaritas and mojitos, 14 Global offers several unique cocktails, many of which seem to use housemade simple syrups and unique liquers. I ordered the Lavundula, a Bourbon cocktail with citrus and lavender. My fiancé ordered the Canela Manzana, an apple chai martini made with caramel apple vodka. Both drinks were incredible and we definitely would have sample more if my fiancé wasn't prepping for a half marathon the next day. The menu is diverse and features flavors from a wide variety of cuisines. I did feel that the vegetarian options were more limited than I typically expect from a tapas place and often required modifications to their typical dishes (I am not vegetarian, but prefer more vegetable heavy offerings). We started with the Pan Seared Belly and Brussels --- pork belly and Brussels sprouts in a sweet brown butter with citrus aioli. This was our favorite dish of the evening, and I will say that I don't think I would have missed the pork belly if we ordered the vegetarian version. Next, we ordered the mini fish tacos, made with grilled mahi-mahi, which were also delicious. The fish was perfectly seared, and the tacos were packed with veggies, avocado mousse, and citrus aioli. We also tried the roasted vegetable plate, packed with a variety of vegetables and topped with a yummy whipped goat cheese and a mojo verde sauce. We finished with a peanut butter banana bread pudding, which was good but definitely not quite on the same level as our earlier dishes. We love this place! It is one of our favorite restaurants in Bethany Beach. Last night we sat at the bar and had dinner. There are 4 bar stools so it is sometimes hard to get a spot there but if you can I recommend it. Kevin was the bartender and he is a true artist! Also very attentive and fun. I ordered the Garden of Eden cocktail and not only was it delicious it was beautiful. Kevin did such a wonderful job constructing it. The menu describes it as spicy but I didn't think it was spicy although I have a high tolerance for spice. We ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños and the cheese balls for an appetizer. The jalapeños are one of my favorite things on the menu. They are just the perfect amount of heat. I enjoyed the cheese balls a lot although my boyfriend didn't like them as much. He felt they were too rich. We ordered the shrimp and grits which we've had before. It is a different spin on this dish and I love it. The sauce is delicious.
