It's just beautiful to look out on the evening sky over the bay. So getting into it I ordered the froze at the recommendation of our server (i forget what I was between). It was good but I won't get again, I'm not big into the sweet frozen stuff so I should have known better, but I was trying something different. As a table we started with warm cornbread. Myself and my daughter got the shrimp and grits, can't ever go wrong! My father got the big fat crab cakes (his go to staple), and my mom went with simple fried shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and my daughter couldn't wait for dessert. Although I was too stuffed we got the triple chocolate brownie sundae at my daughter's request to celebrate my bday. We loved Catch 54 so much last year that we could not wait to come back for Happy Hour and Buck-a-Shuck Oysters & Clams again this year. I've been telling my wife for the past year how much she'd love it and it definitely didn't disappoint! My parents arrived in town earlier than we did and stopped here for happy hour without us, but we all made it back later in the week. A must try if you love oysters & clams -- just make sure you arrive a little before they open (4pm) because the bar fills up quickly!). We started with the star of the show, the raw bar of course! Between the 4 of us we had multiple orders of clams and oysters. We love oysters and a good buck-a-shuck is so difficult to find near us in Jersey, so we had to take advantage of this one. The oysters and clams always taste fresh--we've never had a bad one here. The calamari is tender and lightly breaded. The burger is a phenomenal deal served with their house-cut boardwalk fries that are to die for if you're a French fry aficionado! The food, both quality and prices, makes Catch 54 really stand out compared to so many other bars and restaurants of similar stature. My aunt loves crab cakes and said Catch 54's crab cake was phenomenal. Better than many other crab cakes she's had locally. Our drink orders included draft beer, the Sunset Spritz, and the Pineapple Martini (which was delicious and on happy hour!). The bartenders were great! Friendly, personable, attentive, made great drinks, and even remembered us from last year. That's unbelievable considering the number of customers they serve every night. Aside from the incredible, food-forward Happy Hour & daily Buck-a-Shuck (including weekends), another thing that sets Catch 54 apart from many other local restaurants we frequent in the area is the updated, modern decor and upscale, yet still casual, aesthetic that hits you as soon as you walk in. My only disappointment comes from myself -- I was only able to stop n once during our annual vacation but we made the most of it. Max was a server and he was wonderful from start to finish. We asked a lot of questions and probably drove him a bit crazy but he was patient, upbeat and attentive. We never went without water, drinks and he checked on us often. He was funny too! The food is ALWAYS amazing at Catch 54, never a bad meal and the view is my favorite on the Eastern Shore! We started with the fish bite special. Excellent and nice variety. My spouse got the crab cakes with fried and slaw-so good! We decide to make the 20 minute drive and when we got there, they told us it would be an hour if we wanted HH, but they could seat us immediately for regular tables. Deliberate deception. Really fantastic. The wait times for food were just right, didn't take too long but didn't rush you. So now for me to talk way too much. OH MY GOD THE FOOD! This is easily the best food I've had in southern delaware. Hands down, full stop. I got a blackened catfish over a red beet salad. The fish was fresh! Yes fresh in February I'm impressed. The blackened seasoning was so good, just spicy enough to make me smile but not too spicy to be unpleasant. Flaky and perfectly cooked I was not disappointed in any way or another. How about the salad? Well, it was a kale salad which I'm not normally a fan of. But the elements of the salad were perfect, the toasted walnuts, the beets, apples, just everything about married in flawless harmony. As you can see from my many prior reviews this is one of my top 3 restaurants for happy hour and dinner. I will summarize my two most recent family dinners here during the Thanksgiving and Christmas weekends: Marlene took our 5:30 PM dinner reservation over the phone. I was here with my family of nine including two children for Friday night dinner after Thanksgiving day upstairs at a corner table. I started with my spicy margarita for $14. We also shared a bottle of Duckhorn Decoy Brut champagne for $52, which was reduced down to $26 by 50% off due to Friday 50% off on all wine bottles. The Decoy brut champagne was excellent. We also shared and enjoyed the crab dip for $21. We also shared and enjoyed three dozen raw oysters samplers for a total of $81. I also enjoyed my crispy duck confit special with pappardelle, basil pesto, fried onion and garlic chilli vinaigrette for $32. My total bill was $455 excluding gratuity. Morelia C. (nicknamed Mo) served us very well as usual despite us having two children. We first met Mo, when she bartended at the downstairs bar, when we were here prior for many Sunday afternoon happy hours. We returned here again with my larger family of 14 including five children for dinner on the Saturday after Christmas. We had a 5:30 PM dinner reservation. We were again seated immediately upstairs. I started with and enjoyed my two Makers Mark Manhattans up for $15 each. We also shared and enjoyed two dozen raw oysters samplers for $27 per dozen. We also ordered and enjoyed one dozen of the more expensive Raspberry Points for $48. Raspberry Point Oysters are premium, cold-water farmed oysters from Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada, prized for their firm meat, distinct briny flavor with a sweet finish, and deep cups, taking 5-7 years to mature in New London Bay's tidal waters. They're known for being easy to shuck and popular in gourmet settings due to their consistent quality and appealing salty-sweet profile. We also shared the calamari for $17 and the devilled eggs for $19. I also enjoyed my confit lamb shank for $38. Caleb M. served us very well despite us having five children. My total bill was $737 excluding gratuity. Caleb applied our Indian River High School band 10% discount to our bill, which reduced the total from $737 down to $663 excluding gratuity. On Sunday's our favorite bartender is Nick C. Nick said hello, when we visited during the Thanksgiving holiday. My wife and I had dinner here with some family members while visiting them. The restaurant sits by the water and offers beautiful views of the bay. There is a lower and upper level of dining ateas. The food here is very good. I had the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes. It was delicious and not too spicy. My wife had the broiled salmon with boiled potatoes, also very good. There is a clam and oyster bar offering locally caught oysters and clams. The service is friendly and attentive. The dining areas are very clean but a little on the tight side. Prices are on the higher end but it's to be expected because the area is touristy, especially during the summer months. Parking can be difficult to find due to the very small parking lot. Thankfully there are nearby parking lots as alternatives. Reservation are highly recommended. I definitely recommend this restaurant especially for group gatherings. read more

We're back for our third Happy Hour visit with our extended family, Mom, dad, sis and the 4 boys. The food is amazing here! Dollar oysters are the big draw for us, but quickly matched by the roasted mussels! But the other apps and happy hour specials - wings, calamari, burgers, are All excellent too. They have draft beet specials and delicious. Now the service - every server we've has been excellent but our past 2 visits we've been served by Peyton who is AMAZING! Catch 54 offered amazing happy hour specials including some of the best calamari we've ever eaten. The restaurant itself is very pretty and had a nice water view. All of the staff that we interacted with were friendly and professional. This place has their service down pat. We got the shrimp and grits (bizarrely sweet and the shrimp were overcooked), the smashburger (fries were not seasoned and on the cold side) and the "special" shrimp salad. The special was billed as a fresh, local cucumber, tomato, onion and mozzarella salad with grilled shrimp with a vinaigrette. We came for dinner and were seated upstairs via the spiral staircase, however, there is an elevator. Our server was awesome. She was friendly and showed us the specialty drink options and told us about the appetizers. As always, we ordered the oysters and they were so good with no shells! The deviled eggs were good and we also loved the calamari. I had the crab cakes and loved them and the cucumber salad was so fresh. Our other dinner orders were a rice bowl with an egg on top, a chicken Caesar salad, tuna entree and shrimp with clams. Every single person absolutely loved everything they ordered. My friend suggested Catch 54 even though they only take reservations up to 6 p.m. When we got there, we waited about 20 minutes before we were seated (we had been told it would be a 30-minute wait). The booths were comfy and spacious , and the view of the bay was lovely. We started with the crab deviled eggs which were delicious although there wasn't a ton of crab. The entree was my favorite part of the meal. The day boat scallops fried rice was different, a little spicy, and delicious especially with a sunny side egg on top. We ended our meals with the honey cream cheese poundcake. The maple anglaise and brown butter crumb was the perfect combination especially with the scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
