This restaurant was really good. It was in a hotel and it was on the second floor. There are stairs but if you need the elevator you have to go through the lobby entrance. Parking was hard. I wish they had valet parking. The breakfast at Tide Room in Ashore Resort is a total mixed bag--great setup, gorgeous space, but the food kitchen execution falls way short of the environment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On the positive side, the setting is fantastic. You get a beautiful direct view of the ocean through the windows, the decor and ambiance are lovely, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, the food itself was barely above what you'd expect from a low-end self-serve hotel buffet. I ordered the omelette with turkey sausage, veggies, and cheddar cheese. Instead of melted, shredded cheddar folded in or melted on top, I was served a single slice of Kraft American cheese slapped right on top of the omelette. The hash brown loaf was an atrocity. They would be far better off serving traditional scattered hash browns or even a straightforward McDonald's-style hash brown patty. A few things were done right: the toast was good, served with nice preserves, and the side of fresh strawberries was delicious. The drip coffee was fine, though it's worth noting they don't offer any espresso drinks like lattes or cappuccinos if that's part of your morning routine. He was on point throughout our entire dinner from the first hello to the end. For starters we were served rolls with tri-butter ensemble, followed by the TR crab dip appetizer served with house made potato crisps. Decadent and creamy there was lump crabmeat in every bite. It is worthy to mention Ashore Resorts where Tide Room is located is a registered True Blue Restaurant that serves authentic Maryland blue crab. We also had the baby arugula and kale salad and it was cool with crisp greens. A well balance of the goat cheese gives this salad A+ for pre-dinner enticements. For beverages we had an array of selections - En Fuego, Cloud 9, and OC Old Fashioned. All were great, my old Fashioned was strong *wink! For dinner, we had the Blue Crab Truffle Carbonara, and the 10oz. A4 Wagyu Coulotte. Everyone enjoyed their entrées. A simple modification for my carbonara with gemelli instead of ziti was granted and I was a happy gal. I appreciate the balance of the pasta to crab ratio. Generously portioned this dish! The 10oz. wagyu prepared medium was a highlight... the marbling and that fat cap was incredible, it was so buttery tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is bright and the open dining space welcomes loud chatter![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely book reservations if you can, and specify indoor/outdoor, by the window, and booths are best for couples no more than 2. This might be my new favorite restaurant in OC MD. We went for my husband's birthday. They said happy birthday and had a card for him on the table. We wanted to get an appetizer but figured we would be too full so skipped it. Cocktails were great. I got an passionfuit aperol popsicle in a glass of champagne. It was refreshing. The other drink i ordered had a coconut foam on top which was cool. My husband kept telling me to order the crab cake since they were supposedly the only restaurant in OC MD that uses actual Maryland crab. But there were 2 other entrees I wanted and I didn't really want the fries and closelaw with the crab cake. So I ordered just a single crab cake in addition to my meal and I'm glad I did that. The scallop dish was great and prob my favorite meal I had on vacation. The scallops were seared perfectly with a nice brown. The combination of the blueberry sauce and the gnocchi and other vegetable with it just went together really well and everything was delicious. I really liked those gnocchis too I wish they put a little more on the entree. My husband got the truffle carbonara pasta so I could steal some of his. I'm glad he ordered it. That pancetta in it was probably the best pancetta I ever had. Nice size pieces with good flavor. Sometimes pancetta can be too salty for me but this wasn't . There were nice size lumps of crab in it and great flavor. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding and that was great too. They put a birthday candle in it. Oh I forgot the bread was great too. The butter that they give you is addicting- the pizza butter is great. There's 3 different ones. We had to ask for more bread since it was so good. I definitely would like to return I hope they add some more entrees and change the menu seasonally. read more

Had dinner here on a Friday night while in town for a weekend. This is a newer restaurant to us - I had not heard of it until this year. Parking is out front of the Ashore Hotel, as well as across the street as well if needed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and came about 7:55pm. The inside of the hotel leading to the restaurant reminded me of a reshell of a previously outdated restaurant. New paint over the old bones, but new decoration as well. The restaurant was kind of cool - different lighting with a balcony area to dine at overlooking the beach. We started with crab dip and crab deviled eggs. The deviled eggs (6) were REALLY GOOD - seasoned well and topped with crab meat. The crab dip though was clumsy to me - almost like a cream of chicken gravy with crab on top. Wasn't the normal creamy and cheesy consistency that you'd expect. Don't know. For my meal - why not - I got crab carbonara. This was pretty good - plenty of pancetta and crab - sauce was good enough. For dessert I ordered the peanut butter pie (for my beaauuutifu--) which I'm pretty sure was just a frozen pie. Still good. The food was very average to sub-average for a high price. The dumpling appetizer seemed like it had been prepared way ahead and was sitting around, not hot and freshly made. The seasoning and proportion of most food was not well-balanced. For example, my carbonara was over-loaded with peas and my wife's halibut had way too many tomatoes underneath. Let's give this place an opportunity to re-boot in 2024. We saw an article about the Renovations made and thought we wld stop by for a visit to see how it looked - in prep for summer time fun. It''s a beautiful location and the restaurant and bar have been amazingly remodeled (light, airy, inviting). We came in and just wanted to have cocktails and they were very accommodating. For appetizers we tried the Lobster & Pork steamed dumplings were excellent with a ginger soy dipping sauce. On to the main course! I had the Day Boat Scallops with Truffle Risotto & my fiance had the Tandoori Spiced Salmon. The scallops were incredible -large with a crispy sear on each side & the mix of the Truffle Risotto with Blackberry Mostarda took it too the next level. I stayed at the Ashore Resort for a retreat back in April and immediately fell in love with their onsite restaurant, the Tide Room. Matt was phenomenal and made us feel at home. My husband and I had already planned our anniversary trip down here and I knew we'd have to go back! You can't beat delicious food with an ocean view, no matter where you sit. Courtney was our server this time and she was fantastic! Further proving the entire staff is knowledgeable and dedicated to providing the best dining experience. The restaurant itself does have a nice selection of drinks to pair with their top notch menu, which is not easy to do sometimes. (Everything is delicious but crab dip is my favorite! ) If you're looking for a nice restaurant where you don't necessarily need a suit and tie or fancy clothes to relax and enjoy, highly recommend the Tide Room. Made a reservation here so my wife and I could dine by the water. It is a very spacious restaurant and you definitely don't feel crowded or cramped. Great view too. This particular night there was live music. It wasn't very good and a little loud, but not too bad. Added somewhat to the ambiance. The service was HORRIBLE. It took 40 min to get our first round of drinks from the bar and over an hour to get our food. The restaurant was not busy so the felt made no sense. We got crab dip and ordered more bread, which took 20 min and was cold on the inside. The entrees we had were decent. I did not really enjoy the blackened rock fish as it wasn't really blackened, but it wasn't horrible. My wife got the crab cake which was decent. The waiter was apologetic, but never did we speak to a manager despite what I would consider unacceptable wait times. And nothing was really done to try and make up for our wait time. Will never go back. The food isn't nearly good enough to make up for the horrible service. read more

First I'll mention the service was great and the ambiance was lovely we had amazing sever named Grace! Loved her. Went a few nights ago. We were told by the hostess that it was their grand reopening and we were the first guests. Knowing this, we braced ourselves, but we didn't need to. Service was excellent in the bar and the dining area. Food was delicious. We had caesar salads to start and then two of us split the seafood linguine and one of us got the rockfish. We won't be back to the Tide Room and it's a shame because besides the Filet Mignon, the food was great! It was honestly our experience with the manager that made the experience crappy. I ordered my filet Medium Rare and it came out between Medium and Medium Well. I'm not one to send food back but it was a $60 steak so I sent it back and, while they were cooking another, enjoyed my scallops and veggies (which were both fantastic!). In the meanwhile the manager came by to tell us that my steak WAS cooked properly- it's just that they cook their steaks differently than the rest of the world, apparently- and she said the waiter should have told us that. She then told me that she told them to cook it rare instead of medium rare because she thought that is what I was really looking for. I was like...um...okay? It was so bizarre it was honestly comical. After she left we even laughed about it. However, once the new steak arrived- cooked medium rare (lol or RARE, if you ask the manager)- I took a bite and it was the saddest thing ever. It tasted like "garlic flavored tofu", as my mother described it. Every single person at the table tried it to make sure we weren't crazy and everyone agreed- it was flavorless and didn't even taste like meat- it was super odd. Filet mignon is my go-to choice for upscale dining and I've NEVER tasted anything like it. My husband thinks they must have rushed it and taken the steak directly out of the refrigerator instead of preparing it properly at room temp, etc. Anyway. When the waiter asked how it was I wasn't even going to say anything but he literally said "be honest"- so I told him! I said please don't take it off the bill- please don't say anything because we do NOT want to talk to the manager again- haha what would be the point- we were still in good spirits and didn't want to ruin our anniversary by getting upset about it. We just boxed it up and took it home so the rest of the family could try it and make sure we weren't crazy (we weren't, as it turns out!). So- I would say- if you go to the Tide Room- just don't get the Filet Mignon? My husband ordered the Waygu and it was great- haha also ordered medium rare- cooked properly- so I know they CAN do it but- don't tell that to the manager- she will just nicely gaslight you and argue with you, hahaha! read more
