All of the appetizers and entrees we loved were gone. Food was bland, no flavor at all. Cheesesteak egg rolls full of chewy fat and the only flavor was overpowering green chilies. Who takes Ahi Tuna off the appetizer list? Apparently the "chef" in charge is making very bad decisions and needs some continuing education classes. Sadly we won't be back. Shame though, we really enjoyed it before all of the changes even though the service was always slow, the food made up for it, not so much now.

Consider this wonderful restaurant a fine dining steak house wrapped in blue jeans and boat shoes…read more Julian, our attentive server, who will soon be departing for the Coast Guard, (Thank you for your Service), listened attentively as I described how I wanted my Bone-in Ribeye prepared. Of course, Pittsburgh with warm center. Substitute a whole sliced tomato for the potato, (delicious) and perfect grilled asparagus. I still brought home enough for a generous steak sandwich! My wife had the happy hour fish bites. They were fluffy and expertly prepared. Back to the steak... there is a shortage of good steakhouses in the area and I am hoping they will add fresh cuts to the menu as exceptional offerings become available. The chef did an outstanding job preparing the steak, rivaling Bones and Chops in Atlanta, and Cattleman's in Fort Worth. Still a half step from Chicago's Harry Carey's, but at a price point at or less than half. Folks, I hesitate to rave, for fear that I can't get in, or they will run out of steak, but if you want a superlative steak dinner, at a bargain price, join me at Pines. The bone in Ribeye is the best I've had in quite a while, including Texas. Julian is the best. His enthusiasm alone adds to the great experience.

Aug. 2025 | A+ Service, Legendary Breakfast…read more Customer service - 5 out of 5 Wait time - 5 out of 5 Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 Atmosphere - 5 out of 5 Food quality - 5 out of 5 So many great things to say about this place, but let's start with the standout... Customer Service: Hands down the best we experienced during our 9-day family trip to OCMD. Karri, our waitress, made us feel like family, loved her. Jeff & Mike were professional, friendly, and made a point to engage with every table. Breakfast? PHENOMENAL. Best we've had, not just this summer, but in all our years visiting OCMD. My wife and son agree. Everything was homemade and cooked to order. No frozen shortcuts. Portions were just right, flavors balanced beautifully, and nothing overly sweet. Nashville Hot Stuffed French Toast: The bourbon and caramelized apples stole the show. Chicken was a fun twist, though next time I'd get it on the side to keep the sweet and spicy separate. You can skip the chicken altogether and save $4 if you'd like. Banana Foster French Toast: Mind-blowing. The kind of dish that makes you question everything you've ever called "breakfast." Plate was licked clean. Already dreaming of it for summer 2026. Creamed Chipped Beef over Biscuits: Shared this one. Generous portion, nostalgic flavor, clearly a recipe passed down and perfected. Triple Decker: My son had the chocolate chip pancakes, huge portion, perfect texture, and he loved every bite. Only minor con: straws come unwrapped in your drink. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note. Final score: 25/25. Solid A+. Verdict: Highly recommended. We'll be back in summer 2026, no question.

When we first arrived, around 10:30am, the place was already full of people and a few people were lined up to get their name on the waitlist. We waited about 5min and a lady asked if anybody minded sitting in this corner table behind the bar in the back of the restaurant and we didn't mind so we immediately took the spot. If anything, we liked that it was in a more quiet and secluded area away from the other guests! The waitress was very friendly and joked around with us and also gave us suggestions on what to get on the menu. The food came quickly and everything was delicious! We ordered the homemade biscuit with sausage gravy as well as the Surfing Benedict and the Banana Foster Roll. Left feeling very full and satisfied!

It's open Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM Friday and Saturday. My friends and I had a list of spots to try this year, and this one was at the top. We'd heard nothing but great things, so I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint. All the food was enjoyable and our server Vern made sure we were well taken care of. We kicked things off with the Cherry Bomb Calamari and the Scallops Tagliatelle. The calamari, topped with toasted coconut and served with Shanghai aioli, was good, but the tagliatelle was the standout. Perfectly seared dayboat scallops paired with housemade tagliatelle in a truffle butter sauce, with peas, pancetta, Parmesan, and a drizzle of jus gras. Rich, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Next, I tried the cream of crab soup, made with fresh Maryland jumbo lump crab meat. The flavor was rich and well-balanced, but I did encounter a few shell fragments. A truly great bowl of cream of crab should be smooth and shell-free. For our entrees, we ordered the smoked cheddar pierogies, the red wine braised short rib, and the filet mignon. While everything was delicious, the filet was by far the best. You can choose from three preparation styles, we had it blackened, and it was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. It's a dish I'd happily come back for.

The service was excellent, shout out to Tim! The food was average for a fine dining restaurant. The steak was overcooked and the fish was under seasoned. It was just okay for the price. The dessert and cocktails were great though! If the food had been seasoned a little bit more and if the steak had been cooked properly this would have been 5 stars. But overall it was a good experience and we'd probably return.

It was not clear on the website when making reservations that the menus posted were not for the igloos. Even items we asked about on the menus provided were not available (menu said available until 3 pm in igloo, it was 200 but still told no- yet we also couldn't get the steak or rockfish in the igloo. As well, previous igloo visit options provided fondue for 2 (not 5!) and could be altered for one meat and one seafood eater however this time we would've had to at $240 to get both. At minimum $120+$10-$12 extra to add one skewer. Although the ambiance is an "experience" it was not a satisfying culinary experience. As well, it was not clear we couldn't divide our checks up amongst each couple as most all restaurants can do. (Can only do 2 checks, we had 3 couples) It was more cumbersome on the waitress and us than just charging each couple one bill, we weren't sharing food or said put half this on each etc. it was clearly just 3 couples. As for what we did get... if crab dip hadn't had a shell in it I wouldn't have believed it had any crab in it, just cheese flavor. Steak skewer was well done (no choice given) yet veggies were aldente (to say the least). Wine was good but limited selection. I really don't understand why I can eat one think inside yet can't 20' away we would've had a much better experience if some accommodating had been offered on any of the above issues.

The food was hit or miss - starting with the good, the sausage board was tasty but more of a snack situation and the flatbread looked delicious (and my family said it tasted delicious too) but they were out of all the gluten free options unfortunately. The cheese board was definitely the biggest disappointment - it was $50 and came out just lumped with cheese and meat on two boards. For the price I was expecting something special with the accompaniments they mentioned but it was one of the most basic boards I've been served. The cheeses were okay and same with the meats, no prosciutto or fruit or really anything to warrant the $50. Bummer since you want cheese with your wine!
