I attended this place for a birthday party. The grounds are very nice. it's by the bay and there's a gulf course. Atmosphere: low light old decor. Service: Liz very nice and engaging. Solomon was very helpful and accommodating. I didn't like how the staff because cleaning up around us while the party was still going on. People got up and as soon as they did, they took their chairs! I put my napkin down and still had my things at my seat and came back and my napkin was gone. Not good. The bar staff were nice and engaging. Food: chicken breast (I guess?) with sauce, mixed veggies, red cut potatoes, pasta with a sauce. The chicken was tough and tasteless. The veggies and potatoes were bland. The best thing was the pasta. They ran out of food, so some people did not eat. For the price they charged per plate it wasn't worth it. They also have a side where the public can dine. They didn't check the bathrooms and both the men and women restrooms were out of toilet paper and hand towels. They have a golf shop. This was my first time here at the Lighthouse Sound golf club for an event related to air and sea travel, vacationing and cruising. We came with our travel friends. Bethany Travel had arranged the event with about 20 related travel organizations. We arrived around 4 PM when the event started. We checked in at the front desk to receive our raffle tickets. There are some beautiful views of the Links golf course and Assawoman Bay. We visited the various travel tables to talk and pick up some various travel brochures. Complimentary coffee, ice tea and water were also available. Tables were also available for customers to sit, drink and eat. Eventually they arranged some very nice hand held hors d'oeuvre appetisers and desserts in the bar area. We did not win the raffle. After the raffle we left to return home. We had enough to eat so we did not stop for dinner. We have lots of brochures to read and investigate for our future travels. read more

Beautiful. We had a coupon for a round at Lighthouse. So why not use it on a day when a tropical storm is coming to Ocean City. This course is right on the sound and it beautifully laid out. The wind was manageable until, we played holes 3-6. The gusts were 30-40 mph. The ball either dropped or got caught in the wind and sent it into the sound. The turn on this course is after the 7th hole because you have to backtrack on 8 to go under the tunnel to get to 9 and the 1500ft cart bridge over the sound. The back nine is more protected, so the golf was better for our group. This course is very challenging and there is a lot of opportunity to lose balls. The 18th is really nice with the green up on a plateau with beautiful views of OC. I enjoyed the round but I look forward to playing again on a less breezy day. read more

We decided this was the place for us to get married!!! Our family and friends still rave about our wedding experience. They were setting up for a reception so it seemed confusing that the restaurant was open, we had a reservation but aimlessly wandered around to find someone to seat us. The view was wonderful although is was quiet for 5 minutes when a group of chatty guys sat behind us. We ordered the crab dip appetizer and it took a long time to arrive and the bread to dip ratio was alittle disproportioned, we ran out of bread, the dip was good. I got the crab cake sandwich and onion rings and they were tasty. The chairs they have outside are the Adirondack style and made eating a tad awkward. Still nice scenery. read more

I'm the wife, I live close by and came here for the 1st time for a neighborhood ladies holiday luncheon. For starters, the restaurant is very nice and the view is beautiful. The experience went down hill from here. Many of the ladies wanted to order fish and chips but the older, grouchy waiter said "I'm only going to say this one time, no fish and chips". Food in general was just fair. The house salads were lousy with mostly just plain lettuce, scant other ingredients. Cheese steak was slim but fair. Salmon BLT was overcooked and dry. Ice tea was just plain awful. A friendly, engaging server could have gone a long way, but this guy needs to find another career, preferably not dealing with the public. read more

My wife and I went for dinner last night and absolutely loved the place. Food, service, ambiance were all excellent. For apps we had the Lighthouse shrimp and mussels - both flavored very well. Dinner I had one of their specials (steak and crab cake) and my wife got the pork chop. Neither disappointed. Dessert we got the key lime pie and Lemon Berry. Both get very good. I think the price was more than reasonable considering everything we got. Everything was amazing. Quality of food was very good. Our waiter Andrew was very good. Beautiful atmosphere and view! However the food is sorely lacking flavor. The ceasae salad was served with old wilted lettuce, mushroom risotto was lukewarm and flavorless. Out of scallops at 6:30 on a Friday evening. Filet was cooked to order but also served lukewarm with cold augratin potatoes, which were shortly returned to the table microwaved. Waited 50 minutes to get this underwhelming food. Very disappointed for a restaurant at this price point. Do better! read more

The service was unbelievably bad. We had reservations. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Waiter was scattered and unfocused. Had to ask several times for menus. We got two different menus and we wasn't sure which ones were correct. Took another 20 minutes to get drinks. Took another hour to get our food. Food was just ok. Well, if you are looking for a steak, try Sunset Grill or Ruth Chris. The service in the bar area is slow, bartender needs help. Overflow of no seating in main restaurant flows to bar due full reservations. Transparency, this was the bar, but the food comes from same kitchen. Potatoes were cold. Don't bother to try and get in for Thanksgiving dinner. Was told it was sold out 3 weeks before Thanksgiving. I was told I was first on the list for any cancelations. Called the day before around 4 to be told the head person was going over the list and the cancelations that came in yesterday and today. I didn't get a call. I called at 8 and was told that all the cancelations had been filled. As usual, it's a who you know and who you are in order to get a cancelation spot, even when you were told you were first on the list! Thing is, you never know who you are denying or lying too. Had a great dinner tonight. Started with the crab stuffed avocado, and it had so much crab. The Maryland crab soup was delicious. A nice lemon sorbet was provided to cleanse the palate. Dinner came and there were no complaints. The special bacon wrapped shrimp was outstanding, as well as the catch of the day (rockfish), the Parmesan crusted salmon and the seafood pesto pasta. Our server, Trent, was fantastic, as were the rest of the team. Plus the view was spectacular! Will definitely eat here again read more

We wanted to try somewhere new, so my in-laws suggested that we get a reservation for this place. We arrived to a nice golf course and went in. The hostess greeted us and brought us to a nice table by the window. The view was spectacular. Water and bread was brought out for us. The bread wasn't warm, but we ate it anyway. The waiter offered to bring us more and I said ok, as I wanted some bread with my dinner. Those rolls came out and were warm and tasted a lot better. The waiter was friendly and let me substitute the starch on my prime rib meal. I got the potatoes au gratin and they tasted really good. The prime rib was alright, but over cooked in my eyes. Very little pink if any. It still had some flavor, but I had to use the au jus. I usually never use teh Au jus, but this meal needed it. My wife and her mother got the scallops with the polenta/carmelized onions. Those onions were pretty much perfect and had great flavor. With the polenta, it was a great bite. The scallops were pretty good, but they weren't seared enough. As soon as they came out, I knew my wife wasn't going to be thrilled. Scallops need those dark brown sear marks that were missing on these. We're down the shore, so everything is more money, but this did feel slightly overpriced for the value of the food. Still a nice atmosphere. I just wish the food was a bit better. read more

We held a graduation party in the private room off of the main dining area for a party of 32, and everything was amazing! From the help we received during planning from the Event Manager, Shellie, to service the wait staff provided, everything was handled with precision and elegance. The Lighthouse Restaurant is a place that you can imagine would have amazing food because of the spectacular view of the Ocean City skyline and marshland. However, time and time again, years pass, and still we travel back to this restaurant hoping for a miracle... The service is extremely poor. They do not have enough wait staff to adequately serve customers. On our latest visit, we waited over five minutes to be greeted and offered our first drinks. After dinner, we waited twenty minutes before our plates were taken away. If the food was even remotely amazing, I could have overlooked the service a bit. But alas, that was not the case! We started off with calamari for the table as an appetizer. The calamari was not cooked long enough and the breaded coating was falling off. It looked like they threw the calamari into the frier and squirted on some batter and threw it on a plate. Horrible! We were not even brought out appetizer plates! I had the Alaskan Halibut. It was a generous portion of fish, but it had what tasted like old dried herbs from your dead grandmother's cabinet on top. It was edible, but nothing to write home about. The best part about my meal was the potato au gratin...sorry, but not worth the $28.00 price!! I am happy to pay for a quality dinner, but this was not even worth half of the price. Another person in our party had a seafood platter. The crab cake was the only thing that looked that it had been made there. The shrimp and oysters looked as if they came straight from the freezer a la' Mrs. Paul's! It is sad to say in this area of all you can eat fests, patrons seem to not expect much at restaurants here. However, if this was in a metro area of DC, Bmore, or Philly, this would be unacceptable and close quickly! read more

My boyfriend and I chose to go here for our anniversary dinner while visiting in OCMD. We haven't had a nice dinner out in months due to COVID so we were super excited. The staff was all really friendly and accommodating - we ordered a white wine that they were out of and they offered an alternative for the same price. They also gave us free champagne to celebrate. The food was all delicious and came out perfectly hot. Overall a great experience and pretty intimate, which was nice. Definitely recommend going here for any kind of celebration! read more

This review is for the restaurant: Opening time for lunch was listed for 11:00 but I called in the morning to make sure (so many things are changing right now) and to also make sure it was open to the public. "Yes and yes." We arrived at 11:20 to an empty room. We waited about 5 minutes or so and then I went in search and finally found a woman in another room at the bar with her head down to her phone. She didn't say anything and I didn't know if she was a customer or worked there. Finally I asked if she knew what was happening with the restaurant. Without even looking up she said that the chef wasn't there and it would be another 30 or 40 minutes until they were ready to open. I would not give a one star just based on a chef not showing up (although I do think it is a bit beyond the pale not to have a backup plan) The low rating is for the disregard and dismissive attitude to customers. How hard would it be to post a notice at the hostess desk? How hard would it be to apologize for the HUGE inconvenience of someone driving a long distance for nothing? I think if they had given some kind of a coupon for an incentive to come back and recognition of the disappointment, I would have given 5 stars to applaud them. My husband chose this beautiful restaurant to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. Everything was spectacular. We were seated at a table with a stunning view; our server was a very charming lady who made us feel right at home. I ordered the Lighthouse salad and my husband ordered the calamari. Excellent tasting salad and the calamari was sweet and tender. Lemon sorbet was served to cleanse our pallettes. Very nice touch. For dinner I had the chicken roulade while my husband had the crab cakes. Mine was very tasty and the crab cakes were the best he's had at the shore and he's tried many. This place is awesome; the restaurant is by the water and in a wide open golf land. You would feel special even if you don't know how to golf. The menu is few selection but you will find food in the menu that you will like. We ordered the fish and chips, sandwich, soup (ooopps!) and white chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. This place is incredible! I just got married in a small ceremony on the beach this weekend and made reservations for dinner at Lighthouse Sound. We arrived about an hour prior to our 8:00 reservation to take pictures before sunset and thankfully, our table was already set up and ready to go! We only had a party of 10 but the service was impeccable. They greeted us at the door and had us set up in a separate room (which was totally unexpected and an amazing surprise as I hadn't asked for it). We then took several AMAZING pictures on the property around the golf course while the rest of our party stayed inside and received excellent service. When we were finally ready to settle down and order our meal, waitress (whose name I can't remember and I wish I did), had drinks waiting for the groom and I. She was prompt, polite and provided outstanding service all night. We left after a superb meal and amazing service with an awesome sunset view. This place is perfect for an evening out or small events! Thank you Lighthouse Sound for making our special day beautiful and paying extra attention to the details. Lighthouse sound does an awful job. I had family here from out of town and wanted to treat them to a nice dinner on our final night together so we went to Lighthouse sound. We got all dressed up and arrived on time for our reservation. The location is beautiful however the service leaves much to be desired. We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated in a restaurant that was obviously very empty. Once we finally placed our orders the food came after nearly an hour and a half of waiting. During this wait, no one came to check on us to offer water or bread. After our meal, which wasn't memorable, we complained and they didn't charge us at all. We had a party of eight. This shows how much the managers believes the value of their food/service is. We still left a tip for the waitress who had too many tables to wait. I'll never go back. read more
