Recently in OC, MD, we ruled out a handful of suggested restaurants by looking at menus and decided on Hooked. We were looking for a delicious fish dish. We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!! read more

On our first visit to Hooked, we arrived with friends on a Wednesday shortly after 4 PM for happy hour at the first-floor bar, where we managed to secure four stools together. Our main motivation for visiting was to see Jordan and Cowan, both of whom previously worked at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. Jordan noticed us first and came over to say hello and share an update, and Cowan followed shortly after to do the same. I enjoyed two Sazeracs on the rocks for $10 each; unique to Hooked, this iconic New Orleans cocktail is a spirit-forward blend of Elijah Craig rye whiskey, aromatic bitters, a sugar cube, and an absinthe rinse, finished with a bright lemon twist. We also shared the happy hour wood-fired grilled oysters Reggiano with butter, garlic, blackening parmesan cheese, and salt for $19, though they tasted very salty. Additionally, I had the happy hour lobster roll on a toasted buttered brioche roll for $21, substituting the french fries with a side of coleslaw. It tasted quite similar to the lobster roll at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. I finished my meal with a happy hour draft Evo Lot 3 beer for $6. Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again. read more

Had an amazing dinner last night from Hooked! We actually used DoorDash and when it arrived it was nice and hot. The ribs were very tender and delish and the potato salad was great! We are in Ocean City Maryland for vacation with my partner Amanda and my daughter Olivia. Looking forward to good fish dinner being so close to the ocean. Hooked didn't disappoint. On a busy Saturday night when other places had waits, Hooked had open seating. We were seated upstairs, there is a bar outside first floor, inside first floor and on the second floor as well. Amanda ordered the swordfish, Liv got the lobster pasta, and I got the Mahi Mahi. Bread with oil and herbs came out as we waited for our dinner. All were delicious, seriously good. Stopped in Hooked for dinner. We had the clam chowder and mussels. The seafood was fresh and flavorful. Service was quick and food was good. I had my first official "Crush" drink. I enjoyed it but have nothing to compare it to. They have a full bar with a wide variety of cocktails, wine and beers. Every dish was a hit honestly! It's a very small restaurant but the staff did a great job accommodating a party of 8 and seating us downstairs so my grandma didn't have to climb the stairs to get to the table. Prices are premium but every dish is rich, complex, and well thought out. The only thing I'm not sure if I loved was cinnamon (or 5 spice?) on my salmon, but I give credit for uniqueness! We finally made it to Hooked this year for a date night!! We have been there a few times for the yummy cocktails at the little outside bar but have always wanted to try it for dinner. We started with the lobster and crab crisps, literally mouth watering and could eat this every day. I had the scallops and I could not stop eating them. The flavors in this dish were amazing. My hubby had a crab cake special with lobster mashed potatoes, he literally cleaned his plate!! We had two nice pour classes of house cab and our waitress Alisha was so pleasant and sweet! We arrived late Friday evening into Ocean City, Maryland, and thankfully Hooked was near our stay and still open! Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of our dinner, but it was nothing short of amazing!! My husband and I shared a Caesar salad. I got the Moroccan seasoned salmon over Mediterranean couscous and my husband ordered the swordfish over cheesy grits. For dessert we had their amazing bread pudding and this season flavor was coconut! My mouth is still watering thinking about this dessert! Loved the restaurant and ambiance. We decided to sit downstairs as they have upstairs as well. There was some live music as well. The food was excellent and actually we ate too much. The cocktails especially the mojito was excellent. Paige our server was great even though at times the service was slow. Don't get me wrong she was sweet and personable but could have been more efficient. She actually forgot to put my orange crush drink in. They also have a kids menu which is a big plus for families with kids. During the off season their entrees are half off Tue - Thus which is a steal of a deal. While passing through Ocean City for a day of sightseeing, I stumbled upon Hooked while searching for a non-chain dining option. I was immediately welcomed by warm, friendly service--our server was not only personable but also offered great recommendations. I started with the mussels, and my husband opted for the wings. The wings were so exceptional that I ended up ordering them as my entrée, accompanied by a side of fries. I was especially intrigued by the tomato jam--it was so delicious that I found myself wondering about the secret behind its flavor. The manager was even kind enough to give me a small container to take home with me. That small act of kindness really made my day. My husband got the hooked burger that he really enjoyed. I get that menus and cooks change but I came here based upon the great looking photos of fish and chips here on Yelp. The fish itself was hot and fresh and... bland. Batter was good but fish needed a little salt... andddd tbere's no S&P on the table. And the fries are currently cold, mushy, clearly cooked in old oil and hoping against all hope that all the rosemary will save it. It doesn't and this plate is an embarassment at $29. We went here for happy hour and really loved it. The bartender was super nice. We shared the boom boom shrimp, the crab and corn soup, the deviled eggs, and the burger. The only thing I wouldn't get again are the deviled eggs. They were pretty bland but did have a decent amount of crab. Everything else was great! I really loved the soup which also had lots of crab and the corn added a nice texture. The shrimp were perfectly fried and the spicy mayo was delicious. Wife and I ate at Hooked on 05/29/2026. What a wonderful restaurant with great ambiance! Our server Emily had the best smile and was just enjoyable to meet. We started with drinks: Maggio Cab, and Aperol Spritz. My wife, a wine drinker especially enjoyed the Cab. For appetizers I had 6 unbelievable fresh local oysters, and wife had the Ceasar salad, which she raved about. Then for main, Shimp Tacos, and Shimp Pasta. The pasta dish was to "die" for, with excellent and perfectly grilled shrimp, perfect pasta/peas and a finish of tomato cream, basil, and garlic confit! Kung pao calamari was very tender and delicious. I would even say less sauce so the meat can shine more. My son loved the Mexican street corn, he was even talking about it the next day to someone at the beach. Caesar Salad was delightful! The Mahi Mahi was a little tough (overcooked) and not too much flavor, but my son had some leftover sauce from his corn that helped out. My wife enjoyed the lobster salad with the celery and onion being prominent ingredients inside. Being from CT it is hard for someone to say they enjoy a cold lobster roll. They offered recommendations and were patient while we pondered over our choices. We enjoyed the half price entrees (Tuesday evening) and even my teenagers found tasty options. We ordered the Classic Burger, Fish and chips, Crab bisque and a wedge salad. The restaurant was busy for off season in OC, but we enjoyed the atmosphere.
