Maryland Crab Cake Meal-This meal is a little bit pricy is cost $45 for two crab cakes and two sides. But, it's worth it! The crab cakes are crumbly, and crispy on the outside. And, light and flaky on the inside. They're briny, savory, and delicious all in one bite I like it with just a touch of freshly squeezed lemon juice. It adds that fresh pop of acidity that ties the whole dish together. Onion Rings- The onion rings were crunchy, crispy, and chewy on the outside, and juicy, sweet, and succulent on the inside. They were cooked to perfection! One of the best onion rings that I've ever had! FRIES The fries were crispy and crunchy on the outside while being creamy on fluffy on the inside. They were pure heaven! And, they had a zesty salty seasoning on the outside that made them pure perfection! All in all, from the minute that you walk up to the second that you walk out. The staff are friendly and helpful and once your order is freshly prepared, they'll call your name on the loud speaker. We opted to eat outside and get beer from the adjacent store. We ordered steamed clams, coleslaw, and a dozen of their largest crabs. Unfortunately the clams were sandy and not served with clam broth or butter. My parents live ten minutes from here and our family has been ordering crabs for many years from Crabs to Go. This past weekend, our family placed two orders and after paying for the crabs, were told that they lost part of the order. We had to wait over an hour past when we had originally asked to pick them up for them to steam our crabs. While this is a holiday weekend, their mistake unfortunately made our family crab dinner much later than planned when many people were gathered to enjoy crabs together. If our family had been from out of town, it may not have mattered to us as much.. However, for locals who order here many times throughout the season, this was very disappointing. Today is Saturday and my wife and I were at Assateague. We decided to get some crabs so she called Crabs To Go to see how far in advance we should order the half dozen large crabs we wanted. They told her 35 minutes. We gave them at least 45 before she walked in their door. She stood there a good half hour before I decided to go in to look at the place. Both she and I asked four different people when the order would be ready and each of the people we asked, literally walked away after we asked, none returning with an answer. After another 5 minutes from asking the last person, I grabbed the nearest person behind the counter and asked for our money back. We expected the place to be busy and even that we would have to wait longer than 35 minutes. But what we witnessed behind that counter with at least 7 people jockeying for everything from where to place newly bagged orders to just finding a place to stand was the very definition of disorganized. I can't comment on the food or anything else about the place other than if you go there, order plenty in advance and be prepared to perhaps not get your order in sequence from when you placed it compared to the other customers stuffed in the place like sardines. read more

Extremely creamy without feeling heavy and huge chunks of crab. The rockfish tacos are HUGE and delicious. That's my new go to for lunch. I also highly recommend the deviled eggs....I know crab in deviled eggs sounds weird but trust me. You want to try them. Outdoor seating is super fun (beach chairs, umbrellas, white sand, etc). While camping at Assateague National Seashore for a short period of time I liked my first meal here so much I came back again for lunch the next day. On my first visit, my guy and I shared the Famous "Fried" Combo ($42) which had: Flounder, Crab Cake, Shrimp. Scallops, and Clam Strips and a side of fries. Advertised as over a pound of seafood, this platter was a good size to share although if you are hungry, you could probably finish it yourself. The flounder was fine, the crab cake was good (not too fried), the shrimp were amazing (but too few), the scallops were great, even the larger sized clam strips were flavorful! The shrimp were the star of the show for me, they were butterflied and so lightly fried, absolute heaven. I usually do not like scallops but I liked the texture of these fried scallops and the flavor of the scallop was still fresh despite being fried. On my next visit we ordered the softshell crab sandwich and a fried shrimp basket. The flavor of the softshell crab sandwich was really good and I can finally understand why people order this. The fried shrimp basket was a bit of a letdown after my first meal here because the shrimp were not butterflied as they were in the Famous Fried Combo, but they were still delicious. The fries here are just okay, but I do recommend the Smith Island cake, it is a little sweet but also delicate and delicious. Ambiance wise, Crabs to go is located on a highway with views of a Citgo gas station. They have an oyster shell floor in the yard and nice tables with umbrellas to eat at, but the view is still of a highway. Personally, I kind of liked the juxtaposition of eating amazing seafood while looking at the highway. My only critique of Crabs to Go was their port a potty (which looks like it is shared with the Citgo) was not clean. read more

Yeah, been going here for 2 years now. I always drop a Benjamin or more, every time I go here. Today was different. They have a flyer, right the checkout counter, that said "buy 2 lbs of shrimp and get another pound for free". It said it expired on April 1, 2024. Today is Fed 22 2024. So, I asked what was up. They told me it was a football season special. The owner told it was to coincide with the football games. Why would this flyer expire in April of the next year? Football has been over for a month by the time this would expire. So, owner tells me that "the locals know". Well, I'm not local. So he continues telling me how he's been in business for 30 years and his business is sound. I'm sure it is. 30 years is a good record. He even tried to turn it around and make me feel like I was at fault. Can you believe it? I was at fault because he wouldn't honor his own flyer! I still bought $100 worth of food from him. If you are looking for something a little off the Main Street with good food and open seating then give this place a try. Keep in mind you are at the beach and expect to pay a little higher than your local seafood location. System is easy for ordering and picking up. You order, you wait, your name is called, and you pick up....I recommend the mussels and the flounder...both were decent in size, and quantity. This location does have a kids menu for those interested. I thought the French fries that day were a tad salty so if you're not a huge salt fan maybe ask them to ease up a bit. Pickle, Let-Tom. On a bun. Which was the only let down. The shrimp salad is served on a low end ,cold hamburger bun. If you have to serve on this bun, toast it or something. Thank you Yelp for leading the way to this Maryland crab house, our beach trip would not have been complete without it. The restaurant promises that their crabs are superior to others because they are Choptank River Crabs. I barely know the difference between bay, river, inlet, and lake so this piece of information did not matter much to me but I'll be darned -- these were some tasty crabs! We were promised a mix of small, medium and large crabs in our half bushel but pretty much every crab we received was jumbo sized. I'm talking heavy sweet crabs that slid easily out of it's shell. It was good, good eating y'all. We called in an order and it was ready to pick up in less than thirty minutes. You can eat at their outdoor picnic tables or bring home -- they will provide you with extra old bay, vinegar, and even rolled up brown paper for your bags. The staff was very kind and service oriented. In terms of costs, it was definitely more than I'm used to. A half bushel is $130 (I usually buy a full bushel from the Marina for about $140 during peak season) but in terms of size and quality and the amount of people it fed I'd say it was totally worth it. Went here because I've heard good reviews. They were very busy when I walked in, however promptly took my order. I ordered a half dozen medium crabs with their special butter. They told me to wait outside and they would call my name. About 7 mins later they called my name and I got my crabs. Their mediums are definitely mediums! I was very pleased at not only the size, but steam was coming up out of the bag....super fresh! The inside was crowded and only for ordering food, but outside they have a fancy beach looking area to sit. It has multiple benches and it had umbrellas to protect you from the sun. Theres also a roll of to go paper that you can rip off to take home or cover your table if you are outside. My review is def 5 stars!! The crabs were so meaty and heavy. On my way home I went back and got another half dozen of mediums. Again, they didn't disappoint!
