Sorry. Forgot to take a pic of the soft shell crab sandwich, calamari & fries.

Our go-to place for great seafood to go in OCMD! Have ordered many items and have never been disappointed. This time we got the Jumbo Soft Crab sandwich - includes two very nice sized crabs and both had every leg still attached (you'd be surprised what you get at some other places)! Also got the fried calamari - good sized portion, plus fries. Everything hot and tasty and ready in 15 minutes after we called. Friendly people on the phone and at the counter - they speak English and actually communicate (also a challenge at some places)! Great value too - which is a difference-maker when so many OC places have gone crazy with their seafood prices. Please keep prices where they are now! We love everything about Rippons!

Don't pass on Rippons because you think they only sell raw items. They have a nice selection of prepared foods, too. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in the Ocean City Square SC behind 7Eleven. It's a takeout counter with a few outdoor tables should you want to eat there. MENU: Seafood platters, baskets, sandwiches, salads, soups and fresh seafood. FOOD: Fried Fish Fillet - $11.99 I'm not exactly sure what kind of fish it was but it lived up to my expectations; a flaky white fish, possibly cod, catfish or flounder, beer battered and deep-fried. The batter could've been seasoned more but adding the included tartar sauce helped. Parts of the pillowy soft bread became mushy due to the hot fish and sweating in the takeout container. Came with a small bag of chips but I enjoyed it better with fries from the other dishes. Scallop Basket - $19.99 (5 pcs) Lightly battered and deep-fried, wholesome in flavor and were very tender. Sides were a generous amount of natural-cut fries and okay-tasting tartar sauce. Fried Shrimp - $15.99 (6 pcs) They weren't the biggest shrimp but were breaded and deep-fried golden brown. To be honest, the frozen ones you get at Costco are comparable which isn't a bad thing. Accompanied with tartar and cocktail sauces. SERVICE: Staff were friendly and professional. Our three entrées took about 15 minutes to be prepared. OVERALL: Seafood lovers, rejoice.

Delicious meals to go and fresh seafood market. The staff was very friendly and willing to go over the different kinds of seafood. Very busy for to go orders and fresh fish to go. Picnic tables outside to eat on site as well which is a plus if you want your meal hot and fresh. We chose some lumped crab meat and crab soup to bring home. Can't wait to try them!

Great meaty crabs, and plump steamed shrimp. This place's prices was quite reasonable and lower than a few places nearby. Check them out next time you are in north OC

Fresh raw seafood! Grab to go or they can make your lunch or dinner right there for you!

I missed breakfast this morning and I was starving! I yelped "lunch" and amongst other businesses, Rippons popped up. Seemed to be freshly made to order. I started out. It's actually 2 blocks down from our condo, connected externally to 7-11, and right in front of Fast Eddie's where we ate a couple nights ago. After glancing thru the menu I decided on a fish filet sandwich. Comes with chips. At first I was like - Oh its on bread. I thought it be like a brioche bun, but when I got home and tasted it...it was delicious! I sat out on our deck. I added some cottage cheese I had in the fridge, as a side and some cocktail sauce we also had in the fridge. What a great and filling meal. Very tasty!! Very fresh! Again, they have the seafood there and made it when I ordered it. It's not sitting around, for sure. Check out my pics of some of their raw seafood to go items. I'd like to go back and get a broiled platter. I was almost done eating and I found a giant pickle hiding under the lettuce I didn't use. Love pickles!!! Come in for lunch and then come back for dinner. Enjoy!

Softshell sandwich $20 (July 2021) Last year was $18

I believe the prices for the sandwiches jumped an additional $5 since last year. I paid $27 for this delicious softshell sandwich, but the crabs were pretty thick, so I think it's worth the price. I will continue to come back for these every summer, until I get priced out.

Seafood Platter ($26.99) - Fish, Crabcake and Shrimp, 2 sides, Hawaiian roll. Delicious!

The cocktails were great, and the crab and pimento dip was just okay. I ordered the shrimp and grits from the daily specials menu and didn't love it. The shrimp came with the shells still on the tail, which I had to pick off myself. Also the chorizo wasn't crumbled, but cooked in the casing and then cut up, which made it rock hard and taste very strongly of iron. It's what I would imagine a blood sausage to taste like (gross!). I didn't finish my plate, which was a bit disappointing. My family ordered a crab cake sandwich and fried fish sandwich, which they said were good though. Not a bad spot to stop if you're on the north side of Ocean City.

We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

Our main motivation for visiting was to see Jordan and Cowan, both of whom previously worked at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. Jordan noticed us first and came over to say hello and share an update, and Cowan followed shortly after to do the same. I enjoyed two Sazeracs on the rocks for $10 each; unique to Hooked, this iconic New Orleans cocktail is a spirit-forward blend of Elijah Craig rye whiskey, aromatic bitters, a sugar cube, and an absinthe rinse, finished with a bright lemon twist. We also shared the happy hour wood-fired grilled oysters Reggiano with butter, garlic, blackening parmesan cheese, and salt for $19, though they tasted very salty. Additionally, I had the happy hour lobster roll on a toasted buttered brioche roll for $21, substituting the french fries with a side of coleslaw. It tasted quite similar to the lobster roll at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. I finished my meal with a happy hour draft Evo Lot 3 beer for $6. Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again.

The Chef looks familiar, I think I tasted his food before at one of the Celebrity Chefs Brunches for Meals on Wheels. I remember it being fantastic. There is outside dining but I booked inside as we weren't sure how warm it would be in May. It turned out to be a cold and windy weekend so we were very glad to be inside, plus the outside tables have a view of the highway. What a cute little restaurant inside; it is very tiny. We were crammed into a table in the corner. It was difficult to get past the other diners at their tables, and we could hear all the conversations around us. Every table was packed, I can't imagine what it's like in this room during the busy summer. Noelle was our server and she was amazing; very knowledgeable and friendly. She described the homemade bread service to us, and we ordered 2 Coastalpolitans which were made with Tito's Vodka, lime, soju, St. Germaine, and cranberry. They were sweet, and tart, and bright, and delicious. We decided on crab toast instead of the bread, and Noelle said we made the right choice. Wow, she was correct. The crab toast blew us away. It was chunks of crab on fluffy, crispy milk bread with pickled scallions, radish, lemon aioli, kelp powder, and lime. So beautiful and so delectable! RJ ordered the Pork Chop, which Noelle said One Coastal is known for, and I ordered the NJ Day Boat Scallops. We had no words. We sat there and quietly enjoyed every bite while listening to the surrounding tables, and knew we found a maybe not so hidden gem. My scallops were delicate and buttery and sweet, and melted in my mouth. RJ said his pork chop was tender and juicy, and the best he ever had. That is saying something. We finished with bread pudding because who doesn't love a good bread pudding, and we like to try it whenever we see one that looks interesting. It was salty and sweet and just so perfect. What One Coastal lacks in space and view, it makes up for with food and service. What a delightful place, and Noelle was a pleasure and a joy. We will definitely return to try all the other things and be lucky to sit anywhere inside or out.
