    Rooster Biscuit with Grits

After a less-than-stellar first visit earlier this year, we decided to give Surfside Rooster another chance this morning - I'm so glad we did! The cinnamon roll was the perfect sweet appetizer. While the biscuits are not our favorite, the fried chicken and cream chipped beef were excellent! The grits were our favorite part of our first visit and that held true this time as well, so cheesy and delicious! We'll definitely be back to try some more of the menu!

Super nice place that we would always pass leaving Assateague. We would normally go to Bayside Skillet (which is good) but wanted to try somewhere new. After one visit this is now our go-to breakfast spot when we visit the area. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent and it's super cozy inside. The bar is far enough from the dining area that there can be a bunch of guys sitting there watching the game and you're not disturbed at all.

Cool little bar/brunch spot in Ocean Coty. Ordered sausage and gravy and their crab meat eggs benedict. This was my first time having sausage and gravy so I don't have a reference but I thought it was pretty darn good. Biscuit was moist and soft on the inside with a moderate cheeses flavor. Dipped in with the sausage gravy mixed with bits of sausages was . Eggs benedict was also done well. Eggs weren't super runny (which I prefer) and it was loaded with crab meat. Staff were super friendly and gave us some solid recommendations. They told us to order their banana fosters pancake stack and it was a solid rec. It was lacking some actual banana bits though, but flavor was still solid. Overall, would definitely recommend!

We stopped in for breakfast on a fall morning. We were thankful they were open, as many places were closed. We had creamed chipped beef gravy and biscuits, and a scramble. Both were excellent. Our waitress was the best, as she was friendly and fast. I asked her about the biscuits and she told me they are cheddar biscuits made fresh every morning. Really were outstanding! Also, huge portions. The restaurant is off the beaten path, which is nice because they have parking. Also, it has a country farmhouse feel which was very comfortable. The windows had interesting views of the road our front.

Valentine's weekend with a party of 6, so we expected a long wait. Despite them being very busy we were seated quickly, had great attentive service, outstanding quality and portion sizes. Couldn't have been a better experience.

Appreciated getting breakfast later in the morning. Despite the cold temperature, the food was good. I enjoyed being promptly welcomed upon entering. Service was responsive and courteous. Overall, great experience and good food!

My wife ordered the surfside Benedict with croissant, it was great. So good we switched. The potatoes weren't to our liking as they were soft and we usually like them on the crispier side. My breakfast was nothing to write home about. My pancakes were undercooked and my bacon was over cooked. Luckily, we told the waitress about the pancakes and they took it off our bill and gave us a croissant cinnamon roll which was decent. I didn't like my breakfast at all. Overall good place I just got a bad meal as they were really busy.

Oh my! Whoever the idiot is who rated this place less than 5 stars probably had to contend with lines or the fact that they ran out of cinnamon rolls. Bottom line for us is that Surfside Rooster was probably one of the best breakfast stops we have ever had. I chose the Nashville Hot chicken with French Toast and the wife had a Chicken Biscuit. Amazing x2 and see Sydney for any menu advice you might have.....that gal has hospitality!

Five star croissant cinnamon roll!!! Tried the Nashville Hot Stuffed FT. It didn't do it for me. Didn't love those flavors together. Stuffed with apple filling and tasted more Buffalo to me. The brioche was also a bit dry. But can't wait to come back and try one of the other menu options and another cinnamon roll. Great service!

First time here for breakfast! I'll have to say , get here early if you want a seat for a fantastic breakfast! Small local hangout that I happen to find while down there on vacation. Definitely worth it. They know what they're doing when it comes to breakfast. Won't break the bank on this one either. We tried the croissant cinnamon roll which was delicious and a different spin on something we're all familiar with. We also had the stuffed French toast with apples and bourbon cream topped with Nashville hot chicken. And the blueberry stuffed French toast ! Super delicious! Very prompt service too. Check this place out , won't disappoint!

I've been trying to get here for a couple of years I kept hearing great things! Just heard you have to come very hungry! The decor was super cute, lively bar even at 11 am on a Saturday morning! The drinks looked amazing but I was too full! I'll definitely be back for those. The food is plentiful. We were stuffed! Everything made fresh. Worth the wait! Very creative menu items! Our server, Maura, as soo attentive, and friendly.

This was an up and down visit - we came on a Saturday morning and quickly put our name in. We were told 20min so we waited. As we waited the bar area become available so anyone who is a fan of my yelps knows - when on the road and a bar seat becomes available - jump on it. We did and put in a drink order of coffees and waters. I have made it a point in breakfast places to really try and order something that isn't just the standard eggs meat potatoes etc - so I saw the bananas foster French toast and went for it. The main concern with our dining experience was our waitress/bartender. She seemed to really forget about us and with only 10/15 people at the bar I'm not sure how. We would ask for refills, condiments, etc and she would totally space out. Another issue was being able to look into the kitchen. No one was wearing gloves while cooking which - I don't really care about but I could see someone else having a serious issue. My French toast came out first and the rest of the team had to wait on theirs. It tasted good - though I don't know why they put the syrup on for me - I would have much rather had the bananas foster sauce do all the talking on this. It was good don't get me wrong. The bartender continually forgot about us, I had to remind her I needed more coffee, or creamer etc. She also charged one of us for hashbrowns saying it didn't come with his burrito when on the menu it blatantly said it did but he didn't argue. Not bad - I would strongly suggest reservations if possible, or getting there early. Oh and as we left an hour later our name was called for our table we were told would take 20min. Lol.

Our food took forever to come out. They were low on service and half of our food in our party was cold. The ambience is nice though.

It really feels like a local spot where regulars are happy and the staff actually cares. We tried their country fried steak and it was delicious. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and covered in a flavorful gravy that tasted homemade. We also checked out their burgers and they were juicy, cheesy, and stacked with fresh toppings. Everything tasted like true diner comfort food done right. The standout for me was the chicken and waffles. You get four huge juicy and crispy tenders served on a fluffy Belgian waffle, and it was amazing. The combination of the crunchy chicken with the soft sweet waffle was perfect and felt like something you would expect from a much more expensive brunch spot. Portions are generous and the prices are very fair for the quality you get. It is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you found something special that not everyone knows about. If you are in the Ocean City area and want a great meal in a cute nostalgic setting, definitely give Decatur Diner a try. It is absolutely worth the stop and we will be back.

Having had great experiences prior, I have to say they really missed the mark that day. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict and was upset that the eggs yolks on top were not loose and runny, as they should have been, but overcooked and hard. So he asked the young waitress to just bring him an over-easy fried egg to go over it. That took enough time that his meal was quite cold by the time it came. I ordered the roast turkey open-faced sandwich with mashed potatoes. When it arrived, I was astonished to see the whole plate swimming in dark brown beef gravy instead of a light turkey or even chicken gravy! This completely changed to whole flavor of the meal, and it was NOT good. We were very disappointed in the experience and probably will not return again at least for some time. I have never heard or seen anyone using beef gravy on turkey. Actually, it tasted more like pork instead of roast turkey. The waitress commented at checkout that is how they always serve it. It wasn't in the past because I have ordered it many times before there.
