I ordered a steak and quinoa salad with fried goat cheese balls, cherry tomatoes and a shallot vinaigrette. It was very good. My husband ordered bacon wrapped scallops, the portion was pretty small. Our dining companions ordered black bean burgers and a shrimp dish. Both were underwhelmed. They do have an impressive bourbon selection, so if you're into that, try it out. read more

For the cost spent on this dinner- we had bottom tier service. Six dinners delivered and then no one ever came. We needed refills, a round of drinks, ketchup, just the basics, which we never got. Food was average. $31 for a crab cake sandwich that had no flavor- dry wings , just overall a disappointment. I had the blue cheese and fig burger, it tasted terrible, no fig taste, ordered extra bacon, it was burnt to shit. the bun looked like a gf bun and the burger tasted like a Sysco basic burger. the chicken's an which had the same sauce as the fried pickles which were burnt to shit and fried too long, the sauce used for the fried pickles and fried chicken sandwich was terrible, I asked for the house made ranch and that was terrible. My husband and I decided to give their desserts a try as we were in the mood for something sweet and savory. We ordered a cup of coffee each and thought we should try both special desserts, Bumbleberry Pie and The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake. We sat at a booth in the bar area which was poppin with people. The coffee arrived quick even though it was 8 at night. Not even 5ish minutes later, the pie and cake showed up. We started with the pie first. I loved the flavor as it was perfectly sweet paired well with the cream on the plate and it didn't feel heavy. Crust was flaky too! The slice of cake was rich chocolate flavor balanced well with the peanut butter mousse layers. My husband enjoyed that one more while I enjoyed the pie more. We agreed that both were delicious! This place was very ok. During a late Sunday afternoon, we came in expecting to enjoy their brunch time and were super to see that it was pretty empty inside. They were blasting the AC causing me to ask if we could sit outside (on a cloudy day). When we sat down outside, I asked the server if they had a brunch menu like they advertised on the website, and we were told that they actually DONT do brunch past Labor Day.... Ok. Whatever. Didn't see that anywhere on the website tho so that was misleading... since we drove all the way here and we were hungry, we decided to stay and try it out... We ordered the shrimp bisque (the soup of the day) , and the fries to start and as entrees we ordered the chicken and waffles & steak and quinoa salad . The shrimp bisque was not good. It was horribly thick and had almost no shrimp flavor or bits. Had to send it back. My partner didn't like her chicken and waffles and said the chicken was mostly dry and lacked seasoning. The steak and quinoa had good presentation but the meat once again lacked actual flavor. I found myself chewing that steak and adding tons of salt just to make it a bit more enjoyable. I tried some of my partners' waffles with syrup though and I gotta say those waffles and the fries were phenomenal compared to everything else we ordered. AMAZING!! In a sea of delicious food that exists in OCMD, Dry 85 is truly one of the best meals I have ever had here. I got the shrimp and grits and it was spicy and PHENOMENAL tasting. Their selection of spirits (especially rye whiskies!) is stellar, and their cocktails are delicious. Don't miss out on Dry 85! Great service too! Special shout out to the chef who prepared a bacon-free mushroom sauce for my meal, though my server let me know this was an exception due to them not being busy at the moment. I hadn't been to OC in years and, honestly, I wasn't expecting much in terms of restaurants because back in the day there just weren't any good places to eat. I was pleasantly surprised to find Dry 85. It's a cute, quaint little place with a nice hipster vibe and bar. Our server, David W, was excellent. He was attentive and very friendly, as we ordered No Mas omelets and the My Way breakfast with grits. The food was delicious, as were the Mimosas and the Old Fashioned cocktails. I like any place that boasts, "Bourbon/Beer/Provisions" for breakfast! OC is cool again and I will definitely come back here when downy ocean, hon! read more

We went here tonight (a Wednesday) after deciding to turn down another restaurant with an hour+ wait, We were seated immediately, outside, under a sky just turning the color of salt and peach. It felt like we had slipped into the grown-up version of a seaside secret. The atmosphere was quieter, more deliberate. Great music playing, and a subtle hum of contentment all around. The food was flawless- perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned. The drinks were sophisticated without being pretentious. The service was warm. And all of this--4 meals plus two cocktails--came to about $100. We will absolutely return. Places like this deserve to thrive! read more

Breakfast is a busy morning for most restaurants in Ocean City. Apparently the popular ones have long amusement park lines and close before 3. My family was looking for a place without a line for 10 min and Dry 85 didn't have a line. The sign read "Bacon Brunch " and there was no line ? They have their own parking lot with ample spots and there is no line. I looked at the menu on Yelp but there weren't any breakfast post . I was intrigued . This place has a distillery vibe with wood grain tables and sleek masculine interior design. My family was seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken soon after. This restaurant is clean ! The bathrooms are clean too. There are only 2 bathrooms but they are unisex . We didn't order alcohol. We wanted bacon wrapped scallops but was told that it was a lunch item. We ordered chicken and waffles and the NO MAS VEGGIE Frittata . The food took about 20 mins but it wasn't the hottest. My bf says that the syrup tasted like "dirt" . Not sure what that means. I asked him if that meant "grainy" and he agreed. Again , I was not sure what he meant by that statement. He cleaned his plate tho ! The chicken appeared to be thinly sliced and batter dipped with a little sprinkle of garnish. My frittata was room temp hot and had absolutely no seasoning. I gave it a bath in Tabasco. My server Jesus was a kind , young man who checked on us periodically. I don't think the breakfast was a HIT but I would give this place another chance for dinner. We came in with a group of 7 on a Saturday for dinner, and the red flag should have been how empty the dining room was. Out of 7 entrees, two had to be sent back, one of which was my blue cheese and fig burger that was ordered medium but came out well done and dry. My husband ordered the black bean quinoa burger which was fine. They remade my burger, which took over 20 minutes, long considering the restaurant was almost empty. When I eventually got my meal, the only flavor on the entire plate came from the blue cheese, because the jam tasted more sugary than like fig, and the burger had no flavor although it was properly cooked medium. The hand cut potato chips were cut extremely paper-thin so that they tasted like nothing but oil. The only reason to come here might be to sit at the bar for cocktails, because the food wasn't good, table service was slow, and the wine and beer selection was very limited. read more

Solid spot for creative cocktails and good food. We had the Brussel spout appetizer and fries. Brussel sprouts were well roasted, caramelized, with a street corn type topping. Crab cake sandwich was excellent - great amount of seasoning, and considerable amounts of larger pieces. Roll was a brioche type, well toasted. Drinks were perfect, had the seasonal old fashioned and the lavender fields of Kentucky. Service was a tad slow (it was pretty late at night tbh), but overall this was a great meal and experience. They have a pretty remarkable whiskey and bourbon list, including a $400 Pappy Van Winkle tasting flight (which I had to pass on) read more

Solid spot in the middle of Ocean City MD. We stopped in on a Saturday evening and easily found space at the bar. Casual spot with lots of seating (indoor and outside) for various group sizes, or grab a stool at the bar for a smaller party / date night. If you're driving, there's also a good amount of parking. Cocktail menu covers many tastes with a twist, and also packs a pretty in-depth inventory of whiskeys and spirits. Will be back to try other items on the menu. read more

I did end up getting a glass of wine , which was a better pour ,so maybe that's the way to go? The menu has a lot of burgers that have all kinds of stuff like pulled pork or Mac and cheese. After a 5 hour drive from NY, we first off, we ordered drinks. 2 of our crew got the same drink...but one came out about half as full as the other one. When we brought it up to the server, she went to her manager and came back to say all the drinks are made the same way, we must have taken a big sip of the short one. Well after reading review today about Dry 85 I decided we would give it a try tonight. The only reason I'm giving 5 stars is because of the food and the manager I didn't get her name but she is from Annapolis she told us. Any way we were seated and out waitresses Theresa came over with waters told use the soup and veggies for the night, she took our drink order while we looked over the menu. It took a while to get our drinks 1 unsweetened tea w/sweeten low on the side, 2 Pepsi's and 1 old fashion from the bar, she finally made it out dropped off the drinks but didn't bring sweetener. She took out orders 2 Dry 85 burgers medium well, 1 Dry 85 burger well done and 1 chicken sandwich, she looked at her screen and instead of saying the order back to us she kept saying ya I think I have everything. Our order came our everything looked great my mother asked for some ketchup and hot sauce, she took an order from another table bought out there drinks and finally brought the ketchup and walked away but no hot sauce. About 5 min went by and a lady cleaning off some tables walked by and my wife said excuse me and she stopped she asked for some hot sauce and for refills on the tea and sodas she were said no problem. A few minutes later our waitress Theresa comes walk out by the bar with the drinks and hot sauce, she leans over in front of my father eating to give my mom her drink then across me to give my wife her tea and then again to drop off the hot sauce and never say excuse me reach or can you pass this over and never apologize for not bringing the hot sauce. The chicken sandwich my dad ordered he said was very good he really liked the breading that was on the chicken, my dad doesn't really car for chicken so it had to be good and he liked the chips. The burgers were all very good and they were all cooked perfectly to each person liking, the fries were ok wish I had of ordered a different side. Or waitress never came back to see how our dinner was but the lady we asked to get the hot sauce and drink from came over a few times took our empty plate talked a little with us we joked with her a little told her it was our first time in OC my parents live her I told her she said she was from Annapolis. We waited and waited for our waitress she finally came out to another table and we asked for our check she said ya I have it rite here. Never asked if we wanted dessert I would have really like to have tried the key lime lime or the cookie. I just gave her a credit card didn't want to have to wait for her to return. It was really sad I told my parents after she took our order that this was going to happen she needs to go work for a restaurant that's not so busy. The burgers were cooked medium when they were supposed to be med well. My sons chicken was raw and we sent it back and the manager refused to take it off the bill. Then I requested to speak with her and showed her the chicken wasn't cooked and she said let me have the chef look and never came back to the table. The brunch burger is probably my top choice here. Their house made coffee BBQ sauce is to dieeeee for! Plus the service is great, we usually sit at the bar and within minutes of ordering a drink, I always get served. My husband wanted to come here due to him being a huge bourbon fan. They don't take reservations but we managed to get sat right away on a Sunday evening. There's ample parking right in front and in the parking lot across the street. They do have seating indoors and outdoors. The place itself is super neat inside including the bar. We were greeted by our server who was either new or in general not the best multitasker. We waited several minutes to be greeted. We had to repeat our drinks a few different times. At one point, we ordered a martini and a bourbon, just for her to come back and say they charged per blue cheese olive. Now, I've been in the industry for years and have traveled near and far... never have I heard of someone charging per olive ESPECIALLY when it's the disgusting blue cheese olive out of a jar and not freshly stuffed. Our food took quite awhile and I can assure you there was not many people in the place. The Brussels of the day were excellent in flavor as well as the tots, but neither came out "hot." We had to ask for extra napkins and plates to share the food. Then we ordered our main meals which again took what seemed like an eternity. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with no bun and my husband ordered the pork entree. I didn't even eat more than a bite of my chicken and a few bites of my coleslaw. The chicken was fried so hard and dried out. The coleslaw had zero flavor. Another server picked up the plate and I had to tell her about the meal. When we got the bill my meal was still on even though the other server was going to take it off. I definitely think the quality of food and service have gone down here. If you're not a big bourbon/whiskey fan the drink selection isn't out of this world either. My husband said that this is the place to have drinks prior to dinner. Hopefully this place turns it around as it has great potential. Generally when there's a big mess up with an entire meal, a manager stops over, which didn't happen. Fellow Yelpers be warned, Do Not Eat at Dry 85! We stopped at Dry 85 for dinner as a last resort as every well rated restaurant in Ocean City had a long wait. I know prices in Ocean City are pricey but Dry 85 is ridiculous! My wife ordered a Dirty Martini, with well vodka, it tasted very dirty with little vodka- $16! For dinner my wife had wings, she liked them but nothing special, charged her $5 for a tiny side salad. My daughter ordered a basic cheeseburger with bacon and basically had items removed from another burger and they up-charged her, I believe she liked it more so because she was hangry. I had the Brunch burger with a side of grits, the burger was okay but the egg was overcooked adding no flavor to the burger and the grits were cold and lumpy with cold cheese sprinkled on top. With tip- $95! Insane! Also, Dry 85 is the first place in the area that we have come across that does not offer a military discount, guess they don't appreciate Freedom... no big deal. A large table sitting next to us got their bill at the same time and they were horrified! Dry 85 owner(s) you have to wonder why your place was the only one without a wait? Cocktails here are amazing. Try them even if you normally veer towards wine or beer. One suggestion for the bar - maybe some tongs for the ice? Watched bartenders grab ice with their bare hands (especially the big ice balls for old fashioneds) without washing their hands first. That was a turn off. Food is solid but a slight letdown after you have the cocktails. Fix your expectation before getting your food and you will love it. Think major leagues for cocktails and minor leagues for food. Food was pretty good and I appreciate that it is a scratch kitchen. You can definitely tell they home make their sauces etc and seasoning of the food was good. I got the steak and quinoa salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and I loved the fried goat cheese - it really added to the salad. Our table was mostly happy with our meal here but there are definitely a few cons to call out. Cons: -Shrimp added to the house salad came with tails on. Not a big deal, but I don't like touching my food all over (especially a salad) and getting my hands dirty. -The bread for the chicken sandwich fell apart immediately. -The dressing meant to go with the steak salad was not served and took a while to track someone down to get it. The rest of the table was halfway done eating at that point. -Our waitress disappeared for the last 30-40 minutes as we waited for the check and just wanted to leave. -They only have 2 unisex bathroom stalls and there was constantly a line to be able to use it. My bf and I are creatures of habit and stick to our usual OC spots but always passed this place and decided on day to try it out for a drink. And let me tell you, this place blew our expectations for a cocktail. They are one of the best spots to get one, although they are low staff Kelley and her other female colleague were busting a** measuring drinks to keep them consistent despite how slammed they were. Ok. Keep in mind this is a whiskey bar, so don't come thinking about wine because there's just a couple of boxed selections and they're regrettable. The food was pretty good. Pulled pork waffle sandwich was fine. Ribs were good with a tasty blueberry sauce, but rather fatty. Cole slaw was good, if a little too sweet. Scalloped potatoes lacked any kind of crust. Bumbleberry pie was good, but very heavy on the blueberries. Whipped cream was from a can. Coffee was very, very weak. It's the service we had that spoiled the evening. Drinks were fine. But when you are having ribs, don't you automatically bring extra napkins? I had to ask for those, and for water, and then he only brought one glass. When he cleared the table he didn't ask if we were interested in desert. Ten minutes before he came by again so we could order. And then the coffee didn't come until well after desert was finished. After reading mixed reviews of the fried chicken sandwich I was hesitant to try it but am glad I did. My sandwich was loaded with moist chicken and tasty sauce. I paired my sandwich with the garlic Parmesan fries and ranch, they did not lack flavor. I would definitely order this again. Served with chips, the dry 85 burger with pulled pork was also a hit. Service was spot on. Prices are reasonable. They offer an extensive drink menu however we found the food menu to be a bit limited, so if I had any critique it would be to slightly expand the food menu. We'll definitely be back. read more

Visited Dry 85 for dinner recently and was a bit disappointed. PROS: Service was great. Leann was very attentive to our table and provided exceptional service. Kimchi Brussel Sprouts we're amazing! Between the service and the brussel sprouts, that's where we should have ended. Drinks were tasty also, but expensive compared to other similar restaurant options. CONS: the food generally. The Ossobucco was cooked perfectly, but lacked seasoning. It was drowning in some kind of sauce, but all i could taste were the crisp apples that were on top. The apples were good, but worth the cost of the pork shank. The Au Gratin potatoes had a sour taste to them that ruined the meal. Shrimp was over cooked and Grits were "extra gritty"; perhaps they are "stone-ground" for benefit of the doubt but did not taste good and was not advertised that way. Really unfortunate meal; was looking forward to this place and it fell short. With many other options in OC, keep it moving. read more
