Wood fired pizza with ricotta and meatballs
    Ria F.

We ordered takeout from Ripieno's during our recent trip to OCMD. One of my friends called in the order and it was ready soon after our arrival (about 20 minutes or so). I was surprised to see that they shared a parking lot and perhaps ownership with the Burger King next door. Our receipt was from BK. We ordered a wood fired pizza with ricotta and meatballs. I swear to you that I cannot get it out of my mind now that we've returned home. Seriously delish! We'll be back this summer for more Ripieno's for sure!

We were shocked at not just the size but also the flavor of our Italian roast beef and antipasto salad. These sandwiches- even the small ones- aRe HUGE- the most roast beef in a sandwich I've ever seen. Example- I ate 1/4 of the antipasto salad and asked for a to go box!

We tried Ripienos while visiting and ended up going back two days in a row--that's how good it is. The food is seriously top-notch. Everything tastes fresh, high quality, and made with real care. And honestly, for how good it is, the prices are very reasonable. The consistency really stood out too--both visits were just as perfect as the first. Huge shoutout to Stephanie and Hanna--they are awesome. So personable, welcoming, and they really made the experience even better. Hands down, probably the best pizza I've had. If you're in the area, this place is a must.

Ripieno's is a casual, family-friendly Italian-American restaurant located on Philadelphia Avenue in Ocean City. It's open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM, and until 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. It's been awhile since I've truly had a great pizza. After hearing nothing but rave reviews about the wood-fired pies at Ripieno's, I knew I had to give it a try. Let me start by saying the ingredients were fresh and full of flavor. The sauce and cheese were both excellent, but unfortunately, the crust didn't live up to expectations. It was one of the floppiest pizzas I've ever had, with zero crisp. The texture reminded me a bit of Neapolitan-style pizza, charred edges, but no crunch. That being said, the restaurant was incredibly busy during my visit, so it's possible the pizza was rushed. From what I've heard, though, this isn't the usual standard.

Spicy Italian, meatball sub and broccoli rabe pizza.

Hard to spot from Coastal Hwy because it's in the back side of Burger King but it's a small, eat in and outside place with amazing food. We got an 11" meatball sub, an 11" spicy Italian sub and a 16" broccoli rabe pizza. All were enormous, delicious and freshly made. Casual but exceptional food!

Ripienos continues to be our favorite pizza place at the beach. Not only the pizza is unbelievable, but the other dishes rock your world with flavor. I think this even beats the Italian food back home in Baltimore.

Dang! So good! Got the 16" pepperoni pie w extra sauce on the side, a Greek salad and 2 canoli. Pizza was done on time, and tastes fantastic. Large pepperoni slices and great flavor in the sauce. Salad was plenty big, covered w w capers and feta. Also delicious. The cannoli won't last much longer- they look amazing!

If you're on the market for pizza, this is it. It does not get any better. This is the definition of wood oven pizza. Beware of telling them "large"... sunglasses for reference in the pic. 10/10 - will tell a friend.

16-inch margarita pizza. Cold and soggy!!!
    Mathew H.

We ordered the 16-inch margarita pizza and 10-inch cheese pizza. We arrived 31-min after we called as we were told 30 min wait time. I had to wait another 5-min to get food. No problem. We get back to our hotel (7-min drive) and open the pizza and the margarita pizza is completely cold, cheese is stiff and crust is soggy (real soggy) and yes I know fresh mozzarella does put off water but this was out of control. However, our 10-inch pizza was really good. Hot, fresh and crispy crust. What it seems to me is they had a pizza they need to get rid of and pawned it off on me. They had to fresh make our cheese pizza. My family eats a lot of pizza and the nature of this margarita pizza, it had to be setting no less than 2 hours before I received it. Extremely unsatisfied as this place was rated really high. Guess moral of the story is check your food before walking out if you go here.

Best pizza in OC hands down! Love that you can customize it to your preference! The flavor was delightful and very fresh tasting.

Once again, this place is FIRE!! We ordered our go to pepperoni and did not disappoint! We love how perfectly cooked and well balanced the flavors are. Sauce isn't too sweet and the extra shaved parmesan cheese completes it. Pizza was ready within 15 minutes of ordering at 6:30 at night. That is a busy time for sure as the tables had people in them and others waiting to order in line when we came to pick up. Always a good sign whenever there's a crowd! I'll be back for a shirt (gotta support the best restaurant ) and a Philly cheese steak before we leave this trip. This place stays on my GO TO list!

Good sized bar, full service, TV's (NHL Playoffs were on) Staff were great. Side note, whomever was in charge of the playlist knew his or her assignment- well done. Very much an old Italian restaurant feel. Staff was extremely nice and attentive. And heads up the meal will arrive quickly. So do what we did. Order a drink and an appetizer then main course when ready. Portions are very generous. We had ample leftovers- see the pictures- for dinner tomorrow when we get back home.and the pricing were reasonable. The bread is crispy, fresh and warm. So to the food. All the portions are large. Calamari as an appetizer- ohhhh So good. Very light and crispy, not dense or big clumps of calamari. Sauce was spot on. Slight pepper taste to it. They had a special tonight- ossobuco (pork shank) tomato sauce and gnocchi which the mrs had- and so did four others near us. The pork was so tender and fell off the bone, very very good. I was highly encouraged to have the chicken parm. Not sure how the hell they found a chicken that big for the portion I received. Outstanding. Lightly breaded, juicy, very nice sauce and goobs of cheesy goodness.. how any human could eat this in one sitting is beyond me. We have amble leftovers for tomorrow. Mrs got cannolis to go. Pizza made on the spot.. we will be back and this spot is highly recommended.. I found the prices reasonable and better than other offerings in the area. They close at 9 so keep that in mind..

This is the pizza your childhood dreams of when someone says "pizza." The crust is thin but has that magical leopard-spotted char on the bottom, the kind that makes a satisfying crack when you fold a slice. Sauce is bright, just tangy enough to keep you reaching for another bite, and the cheese... dear lord, the cheese. It's a molten blanket of whole-milk mozzarella that stretches like it's auditioning for a slow-motion commercial, then snaps back with that perfect oily sheen. No grease pool, just pure dairy glory. I ate three slices before I even made it to the car. Zero regrets. Then I opened the Sicilian and actually said "holy sh*t" out loud in my kitchen. This thing is a glorious brick of happiness. The corners, those fabled corner slices, are basically fried cheese cubes hugging a pillowy, olive-oil-soaked interior. The bottom is crisp like focaccia that went to war and won, and the sauce on top has that slow-cooked sweetness with little specks of herb that make you feel fancy even when you're eating it straight out of the box with your hands like an animal. The cheese caramelizes right at the edges, turning mahogany and nutty. I'm 99% sure this pizza added years to my life. I've had pizza in New York, New Haven, Naples, and Detroit. This random Tuesday-night birthday pickup just kicked every single one of them down the stairs and took their lunch money. If you're within 50 miles of this place and you don't go get these two pies, I'm sorry, but we can't be friends anymore. 11/10. Would sell my remaining birthday cake for another one right now. Go.
