I ordered the seafood risotto and noticed it had no lobster in it as listed on the menu. Brought this to the attention of our server who spoke to the chef and said the lobster was "incorporated into the sauce". Although tasty, was disappointed to have no discernible lobster in an almost $50 dish. read more

This rooftop was such a pleasant surprise! When our friends invited us to join them here for happy hour, I'll be honest... the outside of the hotel was giving motel vibes. But OMG, the second I stepped off the elevator onto the rooftop, I was completely blown away. The decor was incredibly well done and the whole space was screaming Miami. We enjoyed several cocktails, and the bartender was so friendly and attentive. Despite having a full bar and a party of four that included three kids, he took such great care of us. And speaking of the kids... two of them had full-blown tantrums, and not a single person made us feel judged. In fact, our server brought over crayons and a coloring book and was SO sweet and accommodating. As a parent, that kind of hospitality goes a long way. We ended up taking most of the food home with us, but I did try the mussels. They weren't the best mussels I've ever had, although they had been sitting for a little while since we were busy tending to the kids, so I definitely wouldn't judge the dish based on my experience. And the views?! Absolutely stunning. From the rooftop, you can see both the bay and the ocean side, and it was beautiful in every direction. Drinks were well done and we ended it all with wonderful and strong espresso martinis. What a gorgeous rooftop. It's very unassuming walking through the Fenwick Inn up the elevators to the rooftop but once you get to the hostess stand it is unbelievably beautiful. They've done a great job of elevating the ambience and that rooftop deck with a beautiful sunset was gorgeous. The cocktails were high-end and complex. The Poke Bowl was okay and the crab cakes were top notch. The seafood risotto I had could have been better. It was very watery and I don't think they use the correct rice which I pointed out to the server. None of the less of a group had a great time trying on different cocktails and having the best view. Service was good, server was kind. There is parking at the hotel parking lot and I recommend making a reservation. read more

Food and drinks are so good here. With a few tweaks, it could be a five-star restaurant. We had an appetizer dip with mushrooms, crabmeat and spinach. It arrived with a generous dozen slices of baguette. Really different & really good. Hubby had a special pasta dish of rigatoni with shredded pork, broccoli rabe, and provolone (echoing the Philly sandwich). This was pretty good but in desperate need of seasoning; the pasta (sitting in some sort of broth) was rather plain, as was the pork. I had a special rare-cooked tuna over basmati rice and what they call duxelle veggies. Beautifully presented, the tuna was melt-in-your-mouth tender. We enjoyed a lemon crush and their version of a dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives. The place is decorated nicely with lovely views but crazy loud! We were supposed to dine with another couple; I'm glad they canceled at the last minute because conversation would have been very difficult. Then there are the doors leading to outside dining: every time a server went out or back in, they closed with a loud BANG. Every. Time. BANG BANG BANG throughout the meal. This place is a hidden gem located in the Fenwick Inn. My fiancé and I arrived as the sun was setting and the views were beautiful. You have the best of both worlds with views of both the bay and ocean from almost any seat in the restaurant. We started off with an order of the house bread, which was some of the best bread I've ever had. For entrees, my fiancé and I split the 14 oz. New York strip and Caesar salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and we loved the heaping of melted butter that came on the steak. The Caesar salad was just okay. There were quite a few brown lettuce pieces, which wasn't great. Overall, it was a nice dinner and we'll definitely be back for happy hour to try more of the menu. read more

As you can see we were here for the first time in March 2024. This was our second visit after almost 2 years. I returned here with my friend on Friday for happy hour around 3:45 PM. The main bar was not crowded when we first arrived so we easily scored two bar stools with backs overlooking the south side of the bar. The bar started to fill up after 4 PM. A guy with a guitar sang some songs as per last time. The views of the Atlantic ocean and the bay are great from the Vista rooftop bar and restaurant. . They now offer many flavors of margaritas. Before we left the bar, all high tops were full with customers including customers who were waiting for our bar stools. Some customers seized the high tops, while some went to the secondary bar. A second bartender was called in when the bar became very busy. I opted for my three strawberry margaritas with salted rims for $8 each. I also enjoyed my Tsunami Wontons with Atlantic lobster, jumbo lump crab, avocado, pico de gallo, and wasabi and red pepper coulis for $20. The happy hour menu is different from when we last visited. Bartender Mark served both of us very well. My friend and I split our bill in half. My share of our bill was $49 including a 3% credit card surcharge, but excluding gratuity. The location is very misleading. It's at the rooftop of a hotel that doesn't look very special from the outside. But upstairs in the restaurant is beautiful. Waitstaff was attentive and the drinks were delicious (espresso martini and a summer spritz, underage daughter had the sober spritz which she liked too). Calamari appetizer was fried very well, but a little salty for my taste. Main courses were on the pricier side. Steak stirfry received a great review as did the burger. Crabcakes were delicious and not filled with too much filler and the shrimp and grits were good although also a little bit salty. The portions were huge and we took three out of four dishes home as leftovers. Nice bonus was that they have a Photographer that comes around and takes your picture and then we'll sell you the photos if you wish. We did buy them because we were on vacation! We came to this restaurant at the recommendation of my daughter who recently visited with some friends. We love appetizers so we decided to make this an appetizer only night! We ordered a Caesar salad. It was nicely, dressed with not too many croutons and the lettuce was fresh. We had Bonocini- which is their version of mozzarella sticks. They could have been hotter as the cheese wasn't totally melted it inside as well as on the outside. The marinara sauce was full of flavor. We ordered the special which was the tenderloin Crostini. This was our favorite! It had so much steak and it included mushrooms, onions, and a flavorful sauce on top of the crostini. We also got the Ahi tuna Poké bowl, which was so fresh and flavorful that we were fighting over it! Another favorite was tsunami wontons which was lobster and crab over wontons. It was delicious! The calamari was crispy and flavorful. The dipping sauce was really good as well. The surface was a little slow, so therefore the reason for the four stars. Otherwise, the food makes it a five star restaurant! The view of both the bay and the ocean was an added bonus. It was worth the drive from Rehoboth Beach. The risotto was overcooked and the steak had no seasoning. For the price we expected more flavor and definitely better services. This restaurant has so much going for it. The view, ambience, decor, and friendly bartenders. The food is good but not great. We went there for happy hour and like so many restaurants, the focus is on discounting some drinks but not necessarily the food. Three tsunami wontons with a mediocre amount of topping for $20 doesn't say HH to me. 6 average wings for $12 doesn't say HH to me. The PEI mussels were probably the best thing although the mussels were on the small size. I did enjoy a pomegranate margarita that had the right balance of sweetness and tartness. It's just a shame and a sign of the times that a HH for 3 people cost $150. It seems the amount of food went down and the prices went up. It's worth a visit for drinks but be prepared to shell out some bucks for the food. read more

The decor makes you feel like you're in an upscale/trendy restaurant/bar. Very cute. We decided to sit at the bar. Here's what we got: - Smoked Old Fashioned: my husband ordered this and thoroughly enjoyed it. They serve it to you right before they take the smoker off, so it's a nice little treat to see. He said it had a great balance of the smokiness, sweetness, and bitters. - Lavender Haze: I will say that the lavender taste wasn't as prevalent as I would've liked, but it was still a good drink. And strong too! - Lemon Drop Martini: this drink was not as sweet as I would've like and extremely lemon-y! Tasted like straight vodka and lemon and no sweetness. It wasn't bad, but not what I'm used to in lemon drops. I will say it did taste refreshing lol. - Manhattan - exactly what you'd expect from a Manhattan. Gets straight to the point, no sugar coating or cutting corners. Delicious. The bartenders were very nice and attentive, even though it was busy and close to closing time. Situated on 138th Street on the top floor of the Fenwick Inn is the bar and restaurant. I found it a bit dated looking and unlike the pictures online. There were 2 bartenders serving the night we went one which was very attentive and another that walked past my empty cocktail glass three or four times without asking if I wanted another. That triggered my decision to move on. The expresso martini that I was having was in fact very delicious and one of the best ones I ever had. All of the cocktails that were being made looked very good. I will have to go back to try their jalapeño margarita and hopefully they will have better service. read more

The food is mediocre, and the service is pitiful. On top of an impatient assumed to be manager, our server took a (timed) 16 minutes to take our DRINK order from the time we sat down. Afterwards took ANOTHER (TIMED) 20 MINUTES to serve our drinks (all of which were fountain sodas and 1 strawberry lemonade) Maybe he was taking a few breaks at the beach because he would get lost for ANOTHER 15 MINUTES before he would come back and check in to take our food orders. He takes our orders, doesn't offer to refill our empty pitchers of water and is on his way. Despite my dad point at the item on the menu and speaking of the burgers in the context of order 2; one for him and one for my grandpa, we receive 1 burger plated in front of my grandpa. In addition to the cheese on my brothers burger being incorrect despite the concise clarification of the cheese selection as he ordered. The server briefly apologized for the burger mishaps and had another 20 minutes or more before the 2nd burger came out. Did not come back to check in and on top of THAT 20% gratuity is ALREADY included. The host staff and management were rude and very unpleasant. We went here a couple of times while staying in Fenwick - there is a decent view of the beach, which honestly you can't really get from any bar this far north of OC and there is a decent happy hour menu -- crushes for 7.50?!? YES PLEASE! But, watch out, they are strong! Their Figs and Roses cocktail was one of the best I had in the area and their smoked old fashion is pretty on point (at least that is what my husband told me, and he had plenty of them -- I don't drink bourbon). I would steer away from their smores martini though - it looks cool and who doesn't love a gooey, toasty marshmallow? - but the drink itself fell flat. It needs something creamy to bring it together -- their super secret espresso martini on the other hand... is wonderful! Food was also pretty good. The tsunami wonton were tasty, but messy - grab some extra napkins! And we really enjoyed the Thai peach wings - another dish needing extra napkins not sure why we choose all the messy dishes... and I enjoyed my tuna poke bowl, which considering what they charge for one of those in DC, was well worth it. The bar crew were energetic and friendly and there was live music both times we went during the week - I think we were there on a Wednesday and Thursday? Best crab cake in oc, nice lump crab little fillers, cooked perfectly every time, great taste, light crispy outside. salads are nice medium to large portion. Asparagus tonight tender with great seasoning. Filet delicious and cooked to order as requested. our server was at our table very soon after we were seated, he was friendly and kind and described dishes we inquired about. Drinks were served quickly which was appreciated since it was a warm evening. We got to chat with the server which made the evening even better. I am local to the area and Vista was one of my go to's! Tsunami Wontons were to die for, full of lump crab meat....WERE being the key word here. First the price raised to 25 for 3 Wontons...and now they are stuffed with imitation crab meat with one lump on top to 'mask' the change. Very disappointing!
