Outside bar area was nice to chill at and Brian was the best! He made the best margarita and was super attentive and kept the drinks flowing. I ordered the coconut shrimp and the sauce it came with was really good but the shrimp seamed a little over-fried and almost burnt (maybe old oil). Also, I got the shrimp salad sandwich and I thought it was going to be chopped up shrimp but it was whole shrimp and super awkward to eat So I basically just used a fork to eat it out of the role. A great casual spot for food and drink! Visited last week for some fun prior to a stop at a local cigar shop to enjoy some sticks and bourbon. Bartenders were friendly and efficient and willing to work with us in case any of us had food allergies. That's a nice touch. Between our beers and mixed drink we shared an excellent crab dip which was elevated by a fresh baked half loaf of thin sliced bread. Very good. Duffy's is worth every consideration if you're out and about in North OC. read more

Absolutely terrible service last Saint Patrick's Day for an Irish establishment and being Irish I am so disappointed! Not only was my food 2 hours in the making it had no taste I mean how bad can an Irish person mess up corn beef and cabbage. And then if that wasn't bad enough I went to the bathroom and found where the terrible sewage like smell was coming from the floors were flooded with water and other human waste materials if you get what I'm saying! The owner's wife heard me discussing it with my spouse while on the phone waiting 2 hours for corned beef and cabbage and literally tried to fight me over it that's okay my next call is the health department you better get cleaning that place up I mean from the inside out staff were rude JD the bartender is always high on something slurring his speech and very rude to customers and they put up with it. My wife and I sat at the inside bar to have dinner Saturday evening. We ordererd two appetizers to split. The fish & chips and crab stuffed portobellos. The menu stated two stuffed mushroom. We only received one. The female bartender who seemed preoccupied in talking to fellow employees then being attentive to the patrons told us that we only get one mushroom because it's big. The fish and chips were good; but both appetizers were the price of most entrées in other restaurant. There was an over served small group of people being loud and swearing at a table behind us. I recently went to Duffy's and really didn't have a great experience. I wanted to sit outside because it's very dark in the restaurant so they sat us out by the bar. Our food and our service was very slow considering it wasn't too busy. The options are a mix of American bar food and Irish food. I got a burger with a crab cake and it was way over cooked and tasted like char. I will say the crab cake was be very good and a reasonable price. But paired with the slow service and slow food I am not a huge fan of this place. read more

We were staying at a rental nearby for vacation and were initially wary about dining out for obvious reasons. However, Duffy's is a shining example of keeping their patrons safe. They have outdoor seating in their side yard, and they've also removed all the small tables in the middle of their bar, leaving only the booths. We sat at the big corner booth adorned with vintage golf gear. For appetizers, we shared the tuna sashimi, which was perfectly seared. We got a piece of the soda bread for my nephew, which was a little pricey but worth it. I think it had orange zest in it. For my main, I had the flounder stuffed with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat. Oh boy, was it heavy (especially with the Imperial sauce). The flounder was good, and it wasn't really "stuffed" as much as butterflied and had the rest of the seafood added in. I'm usually a big scallop guy, but these didn't really do the trick. Still good though. Our waitress was Chrissy, and she was amazing. Very patient with us and all our questions, and made sure we had our glasses full. The beer list here was fine, but their whiskey list is where it's at. I had a nice Jameson IPA. read more

Well, in all my many decades of eating out, this was a first: We arrived at Duffy's around 11:15 and were the only patrons ordering lunch. There were some people drinking at the bar, but no food. Service was quick and nice. We ordered an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised that the coconut shrimp came out quickly. We then realized that the shrimp were undercooked so maybe it shouldn't have come out that quickly... I ordered the Salmon entree and my husband got the Reuben. And then we waited, and waited, and waited. After about a half hour the waitress came over and I asked if there was a problem with the kitchen. She said no problem- your food will be out in a couple of minutes. And then we waited and waited and waited. In the meantime I could see the cook in the kitchen making gestures of anger and frustration (e.g. slamming a hand down loudly on the counter) So, I flagged the waitress down again to ask if there was a problem. No problem, it just takes long to cook salmon. (huh?? I can cook a beautiful piece of salmon in ten minutes, and I'm not a professional.) And then we waited...until the waitress came by sheepishly to tell us that the delivery truck had just arrived around the back with the salmon. By this time, we had been there well over an hour. So, I never did get the salmon. The waitress did make an adjustment to the bill but we will never ever ever (as Taylor Swift sings) go back... and btw, the Reuben was a greasy inedible mess... read more

As far as food- pretty good! Went with a party of 6, and pretty much everyone enjoyed their food but I will say, it did come out cold... Service- not too happy with the service.... Our server was quite slow and we didn't feel that she was too welcoming. We felt like we were annoying her with our questions. read more

What a joke #1 - Thank you for your covid-19 precautions (no sarcasm here) Your commitment to following the guidelines set by the State of MD didn't go unnoticed. During these times - proper communication with customers is key. Our menus were moldy (see pictures). Unfortunately our server was just generally unkind - which is disappointing in off season OC. We were told as a party of 4 we were not permitted to sit on the outdoor couch as that was reserved for parties of 8 or more (see pictures). Cocktails were decent - but after seeing the menus we decided to eat elsewhere. (Update) Asked to use the bathrooms - bartender said they were in the same place for the last 30 years -- walked the wrong direction and got laughed at. W-O-W! read more

I took a chance on this place just based on the fact it was close to the airbnb I was staying in and we didn't want to go far. I was seated quickly and our waitress (I believe her name was Kelly) was friendly and checked on us throughout the evening. The food was fresh and hot (I ordered salmon, my mom ordered the crabcake) and the mac n cheese was delicious. Sad to have found this place on our last night in OC, but definitely plan to return in the future. read more

Surprised at my first visit back after quarantine, outdoor seating is clean and the outdoor facelift is noticeable and refreshing! Two TVs and comfortable seating. We are locals so know what we get when visit, the fish and chips are great and quesadillas are surprisingly good! read more

We sat at the outside bar to watch a football game on a nice day in September. I had the French dip sandwich and ff. Probably the best I had in OCMD. Roast beef was tender and tasty. Not dried out, fatty or stringy. Soft roll, melted cheese and the au ju was perfect. read more

I love bar and grilles / pubs and Duffy's hit the spot. We ordered pound of shrimp, chips, and nachos. All were fantastic. The shrimp was huge and tasted great. Cooked with butter and onions which gave it a true memorable taste. The homemade chips were a tad bit stale and cold but still tasted good. Salty and crunchy, the taste was obvious they were homemade. The nachos were okay. The chili was from a can but mixed with the cheese and other toppings made it better. We are frequent vistors to Ocean City and have occasionally ordered carryout from Duffy's. Tonight we decided to eat in. The atmosphere is that of your friendly neighborhood tavern. The surprise was the incredible service and the usual awesome food. Our server JD, was really friendly and welcoming. The food was great, the servings enormous. We tried the garlic clams that were scrumptious. The fish and chips were fresh and light, the irish stew was to die for and our teenager scarfed down the three alarm burger. How did I miss this local bar and restaurant all these years? Many locals at the bar and the bartender is very chatty. Make fresh grapefruit crushes that are delicious but I get it with club soda instead of sprite, less sugary. The buffalo wings were well seasoned and tasty. Great little spot! We are on vacation and me and my husband decided to go for a lunch date. Duffy's Tavern was a close walk to where we're staying so we chose it based out of convenience but I'm glad we went here. We sat at the bar and got great service. We went during happy hour so my husband was able to get Yuengling bottles or on draft for $2.50. I got an orange crush for $5 and let me tell you, it was GOOD! Regular 16 oz glass as well, which I appreciated, since a lot of places will give you a small plastic cup when it's on special. On to the meal, I got the nachos and my husband got the wings. He's not as adventurous so he got his regular: old bay flavor but was interested on the Jameson Whiskey sauce they had on the menu and the waitress offered to bring him some on the side to taste. He ended up dipping his old bay wings in the whiskey sauce and it was delicious! The nachos were really good too. They use homemade tortilla chips and they hold up really well against the cheese and chili sauce they put on their nachos. We both left extremely satisfied and after writing this review, it makes me want to go back! read more

We've been here twice. Both times we've enjoyed our food and time. Just went this week. Food was great and waitress and staff were amazing. Waitress checked in with us quite frequently which I feel is such a simple task but yet so many do not do it. She was friendly and attentive. After a poor experience earlier tonight at a different restaurant in OC, it was heartwarming to have the chef see us walk into the restaurant with our 8 month old son, return from the kitchen with packets of graham crackers, and deliver them to our table and play with our son to make him smile.
