This is a super fun hole in the wall dive bar with live music, great drinks, and a Primo Subs connected to it to fulfill that late night snack attack! They had several bartenders working so we never had to wait for a drink. They do not sell food, but since the owner own the sub shop next door (there's a door inside that connects) you can buy food there and bring it in here. The crowd was awesome. Everyone was into the band, singing along and dancing. It's a small bar and it's gets PACKED quickly, so get there early! We would definitely hit this spot again. read more

Love the service here which is very friendly and prompt. Their drinks are good, with solid pours and they have a great selection of tap beer. I have totally enjoyed Beach Barrels for several years now. They always have great live bands, lots of room to dance and Primo hoagies next door is a plus! However the last two visits there were horrendous! The bands were fantastic but the sound system was SOOOOOO loud we couldn't stay there. You could feel the bass vibrating in your chest. Couldnt say one word to anyone because the music was drowning out EVERYTHING! Please Beach Barrels, review your sound system and go back to the way it was for years!!!!!! read more

Service if fine, the employees are friendly enough but the main reason we come is because it's a great spot to watch games and grab a sub from next door. Our drinks have always been good and the bartenders are good about making sure your drink is alway full. I would definitely recommend checking out this bar. read more

The inside of Beach Barrels has a great local feel with decorations on the wall to the regulars at the bar. The walls are covered in a brick facade and bar signs. There are several TVs, a golf game, ATM, Lotto machine, lotto stand, board games, beer to go, and 90s pop/rock on the radio. No sign of a juke box but they appear to have live local bands on big nights and DJ on Sundays. The bar is nice and cool. Happy hour is 3-6 with many $2 beer options. The draft selection is ok. Many great craft brands which are all IPAs. If you are looking for sours, porters, etc, this won't be for you. The craft beers are well priced. A single miller light tap is also available for those easy nights. They appear to have the usual bar mix of alcohol along with shot specials. The food is all provided by Primo Hoagies which is attached to the bar. I would rather leave food reviews to remain on the Primo Hoagie page instead of confusing the two. The service is great. There are two bar tenders available which are also covering the few hightop tables in the bar, beer sales, and lotto. However for the time of day it was more than enough for fast service. Love you food and service however, I can't come in anymore because of the sanitizer that has been used the last month or so. I walk in and have to turn around because I can't breath. I had a great time at beach barrels and I have a place walking distance away. There was a great band playing. I had a good table. Service was fine. It was crowded enough to be exciting but not enough to detract. I already like primo hoagies so the food was excellent. The drinks were reasonably priced and there was a fun bourbon list. So why isn't this a four or five star review? The beer selection. The place has barrels in the name and advertises that it serves a variety of beers. I could see that there were a bunch of taps, but there was no printed list on the menu or a chalkboard. Our server was not intimately familiar with the draft selection and she told me "we have Miller Lite. That's the only light draft we have and then we have blobbity, blobbity, blah and the're ALL IPAS" What the actual f?! Ok you don't have to agree with me that IPAs are undrinkable overtopped hipster bong water that are doing their best to ruin beer, or they ruin people's palates so badly that eventually it's all they can drink and they wander around like zombies saying "where has this been all my life!" You don't have to agree with my truth but just recognize that there are people who love good beer and would like to drink something, anything other than IPA. A wheat beer, a brown ale. A stout, a porter, a lager, a Pilsner, a sour, a Hefeweizen. Anything. I mean fercrissakes chocolate is the most popular flavor of iced cream but people don't serve only that one flavor in their desert menus. Two theories: A) the management of beer barrels doesn't know any better and just said "these kids seem to like their IPAs. Hook me up with five or six of them!" B) somebody there likes IPA so much that he wants everyone else to drink nothing but. I'm not sure which one pisses me off more I didn't see a lot of people drinking draft beer. I ended up drinking a couple of Natty Bohs in 16 oz cans. They weren't cold enough but they were only $2.50 read more

I must say I was COMPLETELY disappointed tonight. We come to OCMD and have been coming here since the bar was built in the liquor store. My 22 year old son and I showed up with my 86 yr old father in law and the bouncer told us my son couldn't enter because his CT license wasn't real. No luck with the PD to prove his license is not a fake. I tried to talk to him and reason and he wouldn't even look me in the eye. He would not give me his name or let me know when the owner would be there so I could come talk to him. VERY disappointing. As an owner of a condo across the street I will be sure to spread the word on the world class service to all in our complex. Duffy's down the street is my new go to read more

Horrible service! I had my mask on and I was dancing in my spot at a high-top table with the chair pushed out behind me and I was thrown out for dancing. LOL what what never seen anything like it and you would have thought I was smoking crack at the table with how out of control the bouncer got. Had I not been sexually assaulted I would've given this place four stars, the bartenders were slow and less than attentive; even given they were tipped more than 15% (as I myself have worked in the service industry for more than a decade and appreciate the stress that comes with the territory of working during a holiday) Albeit, I was touched inappropriately and then removed after telling the guy I didn't want to be touched. Strangely enough, both the bouncers were African American's (I am Caucasian) and I can't help but to feel that there was definitely racism involved as I had done nothing but tell the one guy who was trying to touch me inappropriately, "please not to". This place was great. Didn't sit down at the bar but people seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was looking for canned beer to take to the beach and surprisingly there wasn't a big selection of can beer. You figure being across form the beach where glass bottles aren't allowed you would figure they would have more cans than bottles. Nonetheless, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They also didn't have disposable coolers which you would think would be a high commodity. They did however have ice and the cashier offered us an empty case box. So we lines that with a trash bag.
