I recently visited Toast and had an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Our server, Rocky, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome--his friendliness and attention to detail were truly superb. He made the whole experience even more enjoyable with his warm personality and top-notch service. The ambience of the restaurant was inviting, perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Every dish we tried was amazing. I wish I could show you but we ate most of it. The wings were 10 out of 10. We also had a Caesar wrap, a BLT as well, which clearly aren't pictured. Our party of 7 stopped in this past weekend during a music festival. We were greeted immediately by the hostess Andrea, when we inquired about sitting outside she promptly put a table and chairs together for us and sat us. The interior gives off pizza shop vibes, their back patio got lots of sunlight and gave us a great view of the ocean. Our drinks came out quickly and the happy hour deals were great, each of our crushes were only $6! The eggplant tower was spectacular, the chicken strips were standard, and the pizza was honestly the best I had during my weekend stay in OCMD. The service was awesome here. Scott was our waiter and made sure we were comfortable, he moved us inside no problem after the sun became too much. He was patient with our group and took our orders quickly, Andrea also circled back to make sure our group was being serviced appropriately which we greatly appreciated! Excellent views and service. Happy hour had a great assortment of food and drinks. Upon arrival the delightful aroma of Italian food welcomed us outside. First time here and I had high hopes of finding a good Italian option. Turns out I have! I had to go with the Happy Hour eggplant tower, the NY pizza with sausage and an awesome Orange Crush. My dining companion chose the Bruschetta Caprese and fried ravioli. All winners! The eggplant tower with the homemade sauce and ricotta in between slices that are lightly fried was so delicious. The pizza didn't need any salt , any Parmesan nor do you need extra cheese. It was pizza this North Jersey girl has been craving. Excellent! Thin crust cooked perfectly, thin Italian sliced sausage and just enough sauce. The crust was perfect dipped in my sauce from the eggplant tower. Speaking of which is a meal in itself. Took home half for a later snack. The Bruschetta Caprese was delish, crisp and wonderfully seasoned. Did I mention the Orange crush? Made perfectly! Our bartender/server Eren was absolutely the best! He took care of everyone at the bar plus the tables that were filling up. On Tuesdays Happy Hour is all day! You know where you'll find me. The parking in the in busy season would be issue but I walk the two blocks or so. Off season no problem parking right across the street. This place is amazing in all aspects! Location, location, location! First of all, on the bay! Waterfront restaurant! Beautiful for the spring/summer time of year. Unfortunately, it is winter. Eren was the bartender/server during my visit. It was happy hour all day (Tuesday) if you sat at the bar! The bar is rather small, seats maybe 12 people. People there were very friendly. Eren was not only holding it down at the bar but also at the tables. Drinks were never empty for long. Checks were done timely. Personality was friendly and enjoyable. Food was delivered timely and at appropriate temperature. Food! YUMMO!!! We had the pizza with sausage! Real sliced sausage! No need for extra cheese as they serve the right amount of cheese. Crust was yummy! Finally, a pizza that is as good as NYC/North Jersey! Very hard to find here in lower slower DE! Bruschetta caprese - the best! Made me want more! Garlic taste was just right. Toasted crostini was the right amount of crunch. Fresh tomato and basil. Drizzle of balsamic made it superior! Seriously, order 2, you'll thank me later! Fried ravioli - this I would pass on. Had them at another place that are delish! These were not filled much, a little over done and the sauce was nothing to brag about. Have to try to know, right! First time dining here during off season in Ocean City, MD. Restaurant is located on 2nd floor of Emerson Towers condo. We weren't exactly sure where to park, but did find a couple open spaces on the street & walked up the outdoor stairs (on 2nd level, elevator available in the condos garage). Walking in we noticed a small sign to wait to be seated. No hostess visible, so we looked a bit lost and no clear place to check-in at either. The bar was pretty busy. The bartender did catch our eye and at first we thought he'd be over, but later told us to sit wherever and he'd bring menu over shortly. Friday night had a gentleman playing dinner music on a keyboard and singing which was ok and much better than a blasting band, he provided a nice atmosphere for dining. As we quickly learned once we sat down, they were short staffed tonight as 1 waiter didn't show up. Scott, the bartender became our server and explained, apologized several times for the inconvenience and the wait. We were fine with that especially since he was honest and up front about it. Honestly, it worried us, but we stayed and no regrets. I ordered the Chicken Francaise which came on top of spaghetti and a side Caesar Salad. Both were excellent in flavor, portion size and tender. I definitely was happy with my selection and would order again. My husband tried the fish and chips (Haddock and boardwalk-like fries). He felt the breading on the fish was too thick and fish was dry. Either overcooked causing outside to be hard and too crunchy, or combo of both, overcooked & thick batter. The fries were fresh and VERY tasty. We were too full to order dessert unfortunately because I was anxious to try the tirimisu, but this will give a good excuse to go again or just stop in one time for dessert only. I did watch other tables being served and everything looked delicious from pizzas (definitely a must try next time as the 3 I saw looked yummy) to entree salads. I loved Toast Cafe when it was across the bridge. Went there last night for dinner with my husband. We ordered the rigatoni and ravioli. 17.00 for each. I cannot believe we paid that much for such a small amount of noodles. I had about a cup of small rigatoni. Same for my husband. We are willing to pay, but give us what we paid for. Noodles arnt expensive to make or buy. Such a flagrant money grab. We were obviously still hungry, so we ordered Tiramisu. Mistake. It was soggy. I will stick with Albertinos. I was hoping to write a better review. This place I believe is where the old Frog bar was for a little. Right along the bay. However, I was disappointed that the outdoor area looked bare, except for the bar area. We had to go up stairs to be seated. The restaurant itself looks like it could use some updating. Ordered their 2/2/2 - eggs bacon pancakes, a coffee and water. With COVID their staff was depleted so two women were handling about 20 tables. Food was good - it's hard to drop the ball on breakfast. Ok, they moved into a new building/space. I get it, needs some more work. But honestly, they should have gotten the space together before accepting guests. Partly run down former tropical business serving Italian food. Service- poor. They were somewhat busy (8 tables) with really only 1 server we could see. A part time bartender that always disappeared and someone running out food and talking to tables. Food- mediocre. For the prices these places now charge in OC, you'd think you were in Vegas. It's getting way out of hand. $20 for a cheese pizza is absurd. Living in Washington DC, they sell for $12. Beyond that, the salads are iceberg, 2 slices each of tomato, cucumber and onion, for $8. $20 chicken parm was a half order, in my experience from eating at touch of Italy. I could have eaten 2. But, it was very tasty! Ambiance- decent view, horrible interior. The doors create a vacuum that whistles. When one is opened, hold your table down. And don't sit near the door! All in all, it's just another tourist trap with overpriced food and lacks quality in all facets. From food to service. Touch of Italy and Restaurante Antipasti are far better. read more

It seems like this is a newish place that is working out it's kinks. The people were all extremely nice but service was very slow. We sat down at about 7pm and it took nearly an hour for the food for 3 of our 4 people to come out. The fourth came out at least 15 minutes later. Yes two of of us got super slices but it just seemed like it took longer than it should for the low number of customers. It took several tries to get water and one of our parties drinks came probably 15 minutes after everyone else's. This place can be great if they can get it together. The menu is decent. So I've heard nothing but good about Toast and wanted to try the super slice since early summer. Finally made it there tonight. We arrived at 1750 hours and were seated immediately by the manager. After being seated the "hostess" welcomed us. Our waiter, not sure of his name, took our drink order. He brought the drinks out not long after. We placed our order for food, 1 super slice piece of pizza, and 3 12" personal pizzas. The waiter did not come back and check on us even though he walked past us several times. The hostess checked on us once. When we got to the 1 hour mark of waiting with no interaction of staff we stopped the waiter in his passing and asked about the food. He said soon. Shortly after we stopped the hostess in her passing and asked her the same. She went to check and came back saying 6 minutes. After another 20 minutes or so we stopped her again she checked again and came back saying they are getting it ready to come out to us. When the food finally came out, the waiter just put it on our table. We had to ask for more drinks since he did not ask. I watched another table get the super slice and their waitress took pictures of the person eating it and made it see like a fun experience. The hostess was there as well rooting along. My experience was the food was placed on table and please don't bother the wait staff. The hostess never came back to us or interacted with us again. When others were leaving she was thanks for coming and whatever else she said. She ignored us and seemed very rude. She was worthless and made dinner a big disappointment. One bartender seemed to have an argument with the hostess at one point of the night. I don't believe in not tipping since most of the time it's kitchen issues and not the wait staff when delays and other issues arise. This waiter did not even check on us or interact in any way. He did say thank you for your patience when he took our money. I did tip him the 20%. He could have been over worked with little to no help especially from the rude hostess who will deter people from going there. I have told many people to go there and try it since I have seen many positive reviews on Facebook. That will end and I will tell them different now. We came here the day before since it was right next to our condo and we had ordered drinks. It was a cute outdoor bar and restaurant. The next day we ordered take out and the person who answered the phone was less then helpful. He didn't really know anything and had little direction. We winded up placing the order online. We had quite a few things for our group that consisted of apps, salad, sandwiches and a calzone. The Buffalo wings were average nothing crazy or special. The mozzarella sticks were an absolute disaster.. they were burnt so badly and rock solid that all the cheese had melted out prior in the fryer. All that was left was over cooked breading. The salad was extremely sad. It looked like the forgot 1/2 the ingredients and it was the size of a side salad and not an entree size. We had added grilled chicken to the salad and they gave us a small little rolled up foil packet with some cold hard chicken. My husband got the cheesesteak but they had forgotten the cheese and the meat looked atrocious. Finally I got the calzone to share and although it was okay it wasn't anything special or to rave about. All in all. We were not thrilled with the food or service at this place. Visited the place because fellow Jersey folk told us the pizza was on point. It was absolutely the best pizza we've eaten in OCMD and we visit 6-8 times a year. Unfortunately the place seems mismanaged. Went on a Tuesday, we waited 45 minutes for a table and the place was not full and then another 50 minutes after we ordered. With the exception of our hostess, the waitstaff seemed miserable. There was a leak and water all over the middle of the restaurant. The outside seating is where it's at, especially at sunset! It is relatively plain outside, but the view is outstanding. Inside seating is mediocre at best. We ordered the pizza as we've heard good things. For adults, it was pretty good; however, our kids did not like it. They have a monster slice that you can eat as a challenge or novelty.
