Yum! My husband loves him some pizza and the reviews and photos are what brought us in here. Cute exterior with lights and even cuter inside, it looks like a bistro. Our server was very friendly and appeared to be hosting and waiting tables at the same time but she was pleasant and prompt. We both ordered salads - mine was the chopped and husband chose Cesar and both were a very generous portion size and super fresh and delish. I really enjoyed it. Great price too. We chose to build our own pizza with just red sauce, cheese and Italian sausage. It was out quickly, piping hot, and VERY good. My husband is from St. Louis so he likes very thin crust and very crunchy (think cracker crust) and this was cooked to crunchy (but not burnt) perfection with fresh and yummy sausage on top. We both actually really enjoyed the meal - more than our fancier date night meal the night before. I'd absolutely come back here if ever in town again. It's charming and delicious. The vegan pizza was worth coming back for! It was really good. My daughter is vegan and I am not. Even so I thought it was a great tasting pizza, too. This pizza alone would bring us back to Pie. Jeremy was our perfect server tonight. He had a great vibe and did not fail at capturing our six VEGAN personal pizza orders correctly. He kept our drinks full and checked in often for anything else we needed. Always with a million watt smile. Being a larger party w/o a reservation on a Saturday night during a holiday weekend, we expected a wait, but the hostess quickly cleared a table and seated us within 10 minutes of arrival. The flatbread pizzas were INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. I'm hard pressed to think of tastier vegan pizza we've had at any pizzeria in 20+ years of being veg. My husband and kids agree. And the portions were just right. The interior of Pie is beach forward (it's two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean) and hip. There's attractive lights strung across the ceiling for comfort lighting this evening. The menu is straightforward and has all the topping "usual suspects" with a few extra fun ones thrown in as well (corn, eggplant, etc). What a fun place! Pizzas are unusual, really delicious though. All pizzas are made to order with your personal favorites on top. We really enjoyed the salads that they had as well as the meatballs! Service: 6/10 Food: 9/10 We usually get PIE for takeout when we stay in Bethany but this time we stopped in on our way back home. I had tried to call and make a reservation Saturday due to our family of 7, but was met with a voicemail that was not set up. Undeterred, I dropped my husband and bigger kids at the boardwalk and walked over around 6:10 to be greeted by a harried host who informed me that they were on a hold on seating because the kitchen was down. Waited about 45 minutes with my ravenous 3 year old before I called the rest of the family. Then we sat and sat...and sat, while watching two smaller tables get sat, served and leave before I politely insisted that we be seated at two very open tables. Sigh. The very kind host seated us and we waited another 15 minutes for drinks before he brought them. After 30 minutes I asked for the server, who was bussing another table and chatting with other employees, to come over. I immediately ordered 2 bruschetta for the table but we also ordered our entrees as we had been waiting so long everyone knew what they wanted!! Then we sat some more. They literally brought the bruschetta at the same time as the pizzas!!! DEFEATING the ENTIRE PURPOSE!!! We got no appetizer, had to request refills, and got to watch the staff socialize with each other around the bar! The food is good but the service is VERRRY SKETCHY. I don't think it's deliberate, perhaps just very poor training, but the fact that we had to basically seat ourselves, push our tables together, request refills, track down our assigned server, and the appetizers weren't fired first makes it clear that some training is in order. We watched a larger party walk out without eating before ours so I am thankful that the kids were beat from the sun and full of snacks and ice cream because my entire mouth was fixed for my mushroom pie!!! The food is always great. This was our first time trying the bruschetta, which is super unique but could use more basil. The house focaccia is divine, the balsamic drizzle was delicious, but it it needed some garlic and basil to bring it to perfection! Everyone loved their pizzas and we left full and happy ... at 9:15 lol. We will be back in September, and hopefully they will have the staffing issues sorted! read more

Gluten free pizza which is great. Ingredients tasted good but it was super light on the sauce. Gluten free grains need more sauce then regular flour. So it was a little dry. If you are getting gluten free, ask for extra sauce. The bar tender Bri made me a nice mock-tail with fresh squeezed juices. I was also impressed they had Pellegrino in a small GLASS a bottle. Such a cute place with a variety of pizza options!! The restaurant isn't huge but didn't feel cramped. Nothing to mention by way of decorations or ambiance (nothing bad, nothing stellar) but that doesn't really matter because the main attraction is the PIE! The bruschetta appetizer was so good. Cheese, garlic, and bread that had the consistency of french toast sticks. For our pizzas I had the beef and blue, which was delicious. My sister had something with mushrooms, which was also very good, and had a more subtle flavor. The pizza crust is thin but not crispy, which I really enjoyed. Came in around 8PM on a busy Friday night and Pie didn't let us down! The place was pretty busy, but overall we only waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. We didn't have a reservation and all of the other restaurants down the street had hour long waits, so this place really saved us. My three friends and I split two pizzas and it was enough to fill us up. Some of the pizzas have creative toppings which definitely intrigued me. We got the Summertime which had crab and tasted surprisingly light. Although the crab topping was unique, it didn't really wow me, and I probably would opt for another pizza instead. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. I recommend you do a "build your own" and go with the italian sausage or soppressata. As for the menu: They offer red sauce, white pizza, or pesto. I wasn't impressed with the actual menu choices-- the "prebuilt" pizzas. I would modify one of these or just build your own. Dining experience: The dining area is oddly decorated and quite humble. On our visit at the dinner hour after Labor Day, there were only a handful of dine-in customers and plenty of open tables. The service was friendly. Atmosphere: This place is hidden a few blocks from the main boardwalk area. It's cute inside and I like the bar area. However, it's pretty dim lit with and doesn't have any outdoor area which for me is a bummer because I love being outaide at the beach. Food: I really liked the pizza and thought the grilled aspect made it unique. The pizza was a decent size. I wish there was a little more flavor profile going on but I liked the taste for the most part. The bread is more pita-like which makes it unique as well. My family was visiting Bethany Beach for a single night during our roadtrip. As a plan B, we decided to go to Pie for our dinner. It was AMAZING! The interior was decorated with retro beach decor that really gave it a homey feel. We were seated quickly by a very kind young gentleman who cracked jokes with us. He then showed us the menu, which had select pizzas, salads, and appetizers. We had a hard time ordering because of the fact that all of the pizzas sounded amazing. We ending up ordering the caprice salad and meatballs, as well as 5 pizzas; one for each of us. The food was brought out quickly and presented beautifully. I ordered the Summertime pizza, which tasted exactly like the said season. I also tried the Luna Special, which was ordered on a gluten free crust. It was great! This is not your traditional pizza place at the beach. This is gourmet grilled individual pizza. There are lots of different pizzas to choose from or you can create your own. Our party ordered several different pizzas and salads and everyone (children and adults) was raving about how good everything was. Prices are more expensive then your traditional pizza shop but when you consider the quality ingredients, as well as the amount of food you are getting, along with the location it really is a good deal too. Placed a to go order from Pie and enjoyed the pizza. We went with the better than pepperoni and beef & blue. Out of the two we liked the beef and blue better as it had flavors that played off of each other pretty well. The better than pepperoni wasn't bad, but it tasted more like a traditional pizza. Three and a half stars for me. I am a picky pizza person. I was not thrilled with the typical pizza places at the shore. The menu at Pie offers unique pizza combinations. I opted for a white pizza that had a variety of meaty mushrooms and ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. I really enjoyed it. My granddaughters ordered the plain pizza and they thought it was the best pizza they ever had. My son-in-law ordered a pizza with meats and cheeses. I tasted it and it was great. I also ordered a Caesar salad that was just okay, it was nothing special. My daughter ordered a salad with pork belly on top. Her pork belly was dry and the portion of meat was skimpy. The service was stellar. The waitress was excellent! Our wine was crisp and light. My children were not satisfied with the pizza crust, but I thought it was delicious. The place is cute and we got in right away. It is right in the Bethany boardwalk area, so it was easy to walk right over. If you are willing to pay a little more, it is a cut above the usual pizza places at the beach. So skip the salads and pass the Pie! read more

Best pizza I've ever had in lower slower Delaware. I found this place on Yelp & did a carry out order for a Summertime pizza. It was ready when I got there and the takeout guy was super friendly. Since it's in downtown Bethany, no free parking, but I snagged a metered spot across the street. The pizza stayed hot on my ride home to Fenwick & was amazing! Lots of sweet corn paired with plentiful pieces of backfin crabmeat was a really great combo; the basil also accented everything really nicely. When it comes to pizza, I am extremely picky about the crust, and I love the flatbread style crusts they do here-they're the perfect texture and crispness. I first visited Pie two years ago and really enjoyed it. We went back recently and saw that they have expanded quite a bit; they took over the building next door. They have a limited number of appetizers or non-pizza options, but their pizzas are the star of the show! They have a good number of specialty pizzas and a create-your-own option with a range of sides. There are a variety of topping options that can be added for $2, or $4 for specialty toppings. I loved having the option to customize! They have an extensive list of local craft beers available and a good sized wine list. We had two of the specialty pizzas: the Italian (w/ ricotta added) and the Better than Pepperoni. We thought they were both fantastic! The pizzas are grilled, so the crust is charred a bit and soft without being floppy. The Better than Pepperoni had the right amount of sauce, a good blend of cheese, and generous sopressata (hence the name) that was thinly cut and added a nice twist on a traditional pepperoni. The Italian was a tasty combo of sausage, broccolini, and mozz, and the added ricotta perfected the Italian theme. Our friends split a Margarita pizza. They weren't as pleased with theirs. It should really be renamed "cheese" pizza. When I think Margarita I think of slabs of mozzarella with whole or halved cherry tomatoes on top. Pie's Margarita was a simple pizza: red sauce with a few strips of basil and overly browned shredded cheese. The pizzas are slightly bigger than personal sized, so if you are going to split it I'd get a salad to split too; or plan to get some fries or ice cream on the boardwalk after. read more
