    Cheese slice

It was pizza, good value for price. As others have said, not greasy, sauce a little sweet, plenty of cheese. Pizzas had been sitting out a while by the look of the congealed cheese; lot of bar hoppers filling booths. Not good past 8 for kids but hopefully kids have been fed before that anyway..

    Burnt pizza

Got takeout extra cheese pizza last night. Crust burned black, not even busy. Try somewhere else.

Me and fresh waiting for Franco

Franco made us a bangin ass pizza at like 4 am and it was just what I needed to finish watching season 2 of Sam & Cat. Never enjoyed a pizza more while listening to 10 hour forza horizon 5 menu music

Truly the best in Dewey. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. I grew up on Mama Celestes, but (sorry Mama), Franco is, and always will be, my late night pizza go to. Food (7/10): When it comes to a delicious late night slice, Franco's is ALWAYS the way to go. They always have a huge variety of fresh pies ready for order. I love their buffalo chicken pizza and their spinach, mozzarella, and tomato pizza the best. You can't go wrong with any, though. A classic slice of pepperoni from Franco's always goes a long way as well. Franco's GARLIC NUTS are also fire. Atmosphere (5/10): 5/10 here is not meant to be a bad score. I have been to fine dining that I have only given a 6 or 7 and so the fact that Franco's goes home with a 5 in atmosphere is actually a home run. While it doesn't seem all that clean and the late night Spanish pop music on BLAST is sometimes too much, I can't help but appreciate the sense of community felt when in Franco's. After a great night out on the Dewey town, people of all ages congregate in the Franco's/Wings-to-Go parking lot for some post-bar conversation and company. Yes, there are often dozens of "cops" standing there waiting to catch the first overly drunk person they see. Yes, the line is sometimes long and people are bumping into you left and right. But, ALSO YES, you can sit and relax on the curb while eating your Franco's slice. And, ALSO YES, the Ubers come right into the parking lot to fetch you (and often don't mind if you enjoy the last few bites of your Franco's slice in their car). Service (4/10): Franco's service is average at best. They are always out of garlic nuts if I go too late, which really upsets me every time. I've never had a cold slice (but I'm also always in a sate that wouldn't care if it wasn't hot enough). All I can say, is that if I ever meet Franco, I'd love to share a slice with him.

At least they are consistent. It's not the best but also far from the worst. Still a solid pie for $20 at the beach.

Great tasty pizza, love the homemade sauce and cheese. Perfect location from the beach and really great pricing for a beach town.

I know that not everyone agrees but I love the sauce and for me that makes a delish pie. So why not 5 stars? Because their pizzas are getting smaller and smaller. The large pie did not even approach the end of the tray which is kind of bs when you are paying $26 for your pizza w one topping. Also, we ordered anchovies (bc that is our thing) and I think they cut 2 or 3 little anchovy strips into tiny pieces and disbursed it around the whole pie. It just seemed so cheap on their end. We used to come every week but we really don't come much anymore since they cheaped out. This visit was a good reminder why.

Cute decor and it was even decorated for the holiday (Memorial Day). Our server (Addie) was terrific! She was super friendly and very accommodating. Our food was out quickly. Ordered a pizza (a must), wings, and a salad. All were fabulous. The salad was delicious!! Shocked that a pizza place had such a lovely salad. Very fresh. And the pizza - a must. Even if can't get here for dining in, grab one to go or take to the beach!

The portions were enough to make two meals out of one entree. The Pappardelle was cooked perfectly. The meatballs and sausage had great flavor. I am giving a 4 not 5 since the pasta sauce was nothing spectacular and was basic sauce to me. Also, it might have been me showing up a little early before the order was ready, but it would have been nice to have some red pepper and some Parmesan cheese. Maybe the ordering app could have had a place to ask for this. The Tiramisu had great flavor.

That way, it gives me a chance to try more of the local flavors. Every year before this one I was usually just leaving right after my work was done, but I needed a little me time. Well, as much me time as possible when some of your friends are still in the area. This spot is within walking distance of several hotels in the area, making it an easy destination for people and one of the busiest places to be for meals. Even in the offseason. When we arrived we were greeted promptly at the door and lead to a booth. With menus in hand we were on our way to deciding out meals. I teetered between two, Lasagna and Bolognese. A few of my friends that I came here with had been before and they couldn't shed much light on the matter. When our server came to the table to take our drink orders he was insightful on my options. He basically convinced me in going with the Lasagna with the soul reasoning being that they use the Bolognese sauce in the Lasagna. Sold, Lasagna it was. A bit about the place. Offseason hours a a bit peculiar, short hours during most weekdays and longer ones toward the weekends. It was warm and welcoming and lively. Our server was a delight, I believe one of the owners, or at least that was what the pictures on the wall portrayed. He made sure we were taken care of and that our needs were met. He even apologized for the timeliness of our food coming out. Then the food did arrive. What took me by surprise at first was the portion. It was more than satisfactory, it was quite the piece of Lasagna. Then the first bite, the server didn't lie, it was quite tasty and I was happen that I didn't have to go with just the Bolognese. The sauce held so much flavor and it was quite the item to pull everything together. It was layered perfectly and a fitting meal. My friends were surprised I finished the whole thing. This will definitely be a place I will stop back at if I return. It filled my need for Italian food, and in my mind, far superior with what else is offered within walking distance of the hotels of Dewey Beach.

Introduction on Dewey Beach trip:…read more Representing 2023, W is for Woody's. In September 2023, I was on a group beach trip at a house in Dewey Beach a close walk to Woody's. I stayed for 3 nights. The timing of this trip ended up being good for three reasons: 1. Three weeks earlier I had surgery for cancer on Tuesday, 8/15/23. I was not aloud to go in pool, beach, or bathtub for exactly 3 weeks. My community pool's last day for the season was Labor Day Monday, 9/4/23 (2 weeks 6 days after my surgery), which kind of sucked because that kissed going to my community pool the rest of the season or any other pool parties. About a week earlier, my friend convinced me to go on the trip saying there was availability in the house during the Monday to Friday part. Ultimately, I decided to take off work on that Tuesday and worked from the house on Wednesday, but I had a great time on the trip that I decided to extend to Thursday doing the same working at the house. And I was able to fully enjoy the beach on Tuesday, 9/5 exactly 3 weeks later with no issues. As well as the other 2 days to lesser extent as I had work too. 2. DC/Maryland was experiencing an intense September heat wave with temperatures in the upper 90's; so it was great timing to escape to the beach where temps there were still pretty hot as high as low 90's. 3. Most importantly, I met my girlfriend of now 2 years on this trip! We were friends for several months, but then dating started in February 2024. Experience with Woody's: If I hadn't extended my trip into Thursday, I wouldn't have tried Woody's. I was tired of leftovers after Tuesday & Wednesday night; I decided to go to Woody's for dinner. I called in the order, walked over didn't have to wait long, and took back. Friends looked a little jealous. I got the crab cake sandwich with fries. It was an amazing crab cake with great fries. It certainly wasn't a cheap dinner, but it was worth it for a good amount of crab cake with a high quality.
