We ordered the eggplant stack and a carbonara "sorta" pizza. The eggplant stack was like a deconstructed eggplant parmesan . The eggplant was perfectly fried and the ricotta mix in between the fried eggplant was flavorful. I would return for this alone! And yet when they brought out the pizza, I was mesmerized. I've never eaten peas on a pizza before and this was just divine! Cheesy pizza with slices of ham, dollops of more of the delicious flavored ricotta on top. WOW. Vibe was cool. Red checked table cloth and those big ol' plastic cups à la my favorite pizza joint from when I was a kid in NJ. Lots of Dalmatian art inside.

I honestly enjoyed the caesar salad and Pepperoni pizza a lot. Service wasn't super speedy, but it was acceptable, the drink menu is long and the wines by the glass are good, and nice and cold for this spot, and the pizza is tasty. No it's not your NY amazing pizza, it is floppy, and it lacks the char that I would really really want, but it's the best pizza I've had in Delaware. Ask any local over 40 or so and they'll tell you stories. Miguel handled our questions with professionalism despite the obvious gaps in corporate training. By the end of the night, we had no choice but to thank him properly. Bring back the PP and put Miguel in charge

Grottos pizza is delicious. I know that not everyone agrees but I love the sauce and for me that makes a delish pie. So why not 5 stars? Because their pizzas are getting smaller and smaller. The large pie did not even approach the end of the tray which is kind of bs when you are paying $26 for your pizza w one topping. Also, we ordered anchovies (bc that is our thing) and I think they cut 2 or 3 little anchovy strips into tiny pieces and disbursed it around the whole pie. It just seemed so cheap on their end. We used to come every week but we really don't come much anymore since they cheaped out. This visit was a good reminder why.

The portions were enough to make two meals out of one entree. The Pappardelle was cooked perfectly. The meatballs and sausage had great flavor. I am giving a 4 not 5 since the pasta sauce was nothing spectacular and was basic sauce to me. Also, it might have been me showing up a little early before the order was ready, but it would have been nice to have some red pepper and some Parmesan cheese. Maybe the ordering app could have had a place to ask for this. The Tiramisu had great flavor.
