Slice & Drink Review Louie's is definitely a blast from the past. The dining room is straight out of 1970, and the walk up takeout right next door, at least a few decades older. The black and whites on the walls feel right out of a 50's newsreel. I love all that historic stuff from my own childhood, so it pleased me to go back in time for a little bit. I needed a slice and diet to carry me through the late afternoon and Louie's was right in front of me when we parked near the boards at the top of Rehoboth Ave. I knew nothing about pizza at this shore, but my Jersey roots made me comfortable it would be decent. The reheat on the mushroom slice was strong enough to crisp the firm scorched crust back to life, and allowed the mozzarella to sweat and melt, while the sliced dark schrooms remained embedded in the surrounding cheese. It was a smaller than expected triangle, but the taste and texture were fine. The crust was somewhat airy with a nice crunch; the red sauce wasn't memorable. Five bites and it was gone. Four Stars for the rekindled sandy memories. read more

This review is for take out slices only! It was the end of the night and we wanted a quick bite before heading back to the hotel. At almost 10pm they weren't cooking pizzas anymore so we got 3 pepperoni slices to go. They warmed it up in the oven and gave it to us in boxes. The pizza is a nice thin crust with tons of crispy pepperoni. I thought it was a pretty solid pizza slice and it hit the spot! Good to know that we can always grab a slice to go :) read more

Being right by the boardwalk, this is a very busy spot with limited inside seating. Service was so/so and unfortunately the pizza wasn't the best we've ever had. Best grinders/subs at the beach. Lots of topping options and a variety of peppers. My family loves the cheesesteaks, and Italian grinders. They take cash or charge - which is so convenient- and recently started a rewards program - for those who are into that. Have been enjoying Louie's at least once every summer for over 20 years. This was such a good pizza place right by the beach, the food took awhile but was super good when we got it.

It was time to update my review ... as this family favorite has only improved with time. In fact, I recently learned that they source many of their ingredients from local produce providers. This explains the quality you taste in every bite! And ... a new item on the menu ... Gluten Free pizza! And my wife says it's one of the best out there. Pizza is actually good, with even cheese and sauce distribution. Because they are so under rated, hardly any waiting. 12/12/2025 6:30pm Girlfriend and I were walking around and Crave something to eat so we decided to try Louie's since I saw a banner of 50th anniversary. We ordered take out but at time of picking up the food I decided to ask if we could dine in since it was very cold outside and young fella said it was ok. We were thinking on getting rest of food or drinks in dining area. As we sat down and got ready to eat another young guy came to us and told us that's not how it works, "you dine in you, order from the server and we bring the food, that we cannot do that" buy from carry out. I asked him if it was about spending money or what was the issue, that is the same owner and money goes to same business. Also told him that it was about eating comfortable at the end my girlfriend got up, as he mention "I guess is ok" but the bad experience infront of other customers had already happened. I ate at Louie's for the first time in all my years going to Rehobeth Beach. Man did I miss out. This blows the other local pizza places out of the ground. The crust is crunchie and the sauce and cheese is delicious. It was a great stop before the boardwalk. read more

Been coming here for a quick slice during the years but after renting a place for the week we ordered in twice. Chicken cheesesteak was delicious and everyone ordered gyros which was surprising because who gets gyros from a pizza joint? But everyone loved them that they ordered them the second time. The pizza was really good and cooked well considering we walked a few blocks to bring it home. Even on a busy Friday night our order was ready in like 45 minutes. I didn't have to deal directly with the staff so I can't comment to that but they did have a dedicated take out/away window which streamlined the process, as did the online ordering option. read more

Excellent authentic mom and pop pizzeria. My cheesesteak was out of this world as was the service. I highly recommend them.

This place was great. Stopped in for lunch, was a bit hesitant bc of reviews. Service (Sarah) was AWESOME, she managed the whole dining area flawlessly. Our two little kids loved her. Pizza was surprisingly delicious. Definitely will try the sandwiches next time, we had food envy watching all the other tables get served ridiculously good-looking sandos. There was a hair baked into the crust of my pizza. Since the manager claims he reviewed the camera on the previous review... I know that's bs because if you really review your cameras, you will see that once the soda was delivered, I CLEARLY SAID.. THERE IS A hair stuck to the styrofoam cup... there should be a clip of me pulling the hair off and my husband asking if I should get another soda but since it was on the outside of the cup so it was forgivable and not a big deal. However after taking the order of every table that came after us first and receiving our food last... which manager claims takes longer to cook, ok fine but does not seem to understand the concept of FIRST come first serve which was the argument; we ordered a pizza with 6 toppings or whatever (the Louie special w/hair) I ripped the crust to cool it down and feed my baby and there was a hair baked right into it. Husband was super annoyed at this point and I was turned off by it and completely lost my appetite. Manager comped it as if I would actually consume it if they comp it..?? Comping seems standard since we were didn't even bite into it and the hair... can't get past the hair in the crust. Whatever, it's a small pizzeria in a beach town; if I wanted michelin rated this wouldn't be it but the manager missed the mark here. We came in for a local pizza joint instead of grotto's across the street. We came in for a good Delaware pie and was served an unsanitary pizza and a questionable response on my husband's hat and profile pic which is completely irrelevant to the food. Weird take. We have been going for years but tonight on 8/29/24 we were assured by one of the cooks that our cheese fries would be his magnum opus. Did not disappoint. Love this place. read more

We stopped by Louie's recently for the first time in over 35+ years, because I remember my parents taking us as kids to get grinders and pizza. We placed our order at the take-out window and waited. On this visit we ordered the turnkey grinder and a slice of cheese pizza. Pizza is my thing so I'm always checking out a slice from various places and only had a vague recollection from the last visit. As we waited for our order, I saw the person behind the counter set a slice of pizza on a paper plate on the counter and just said, "Slice of Cheese", not an order number. When our order number was finally called, I was told that the slice that had been sitting on the counter for 5 minutes, with half a dozen people placing their orders breathing over it, was part of my order. I informed them that I was not taking that piece of pizza and requested a new one. The girl behind the counter looked at me like I was crazy and said she would reheat it....NO! Luckily the guy behind the counter told her to get a new slice, which she did begrudgingly. Overall the food was OK. The large grinder was dry, but it did have a good amount of turkey in it. The pizza had a doughy/soft crust and was ok, nothing special, but a consistent slice over the years. Louie's is a RB institution and has a faithful following, it just didn't hit the spot for me on this visit. read more

There's are Grotto's everywhere, so it's a surprise that a pizza shop not named Grotto's (or Nicola) has survived this long in Rehoboth Beach. I'm over the Grotto's mystique, so we dropped in to Louie's for a quick air conditioned bite. The pizza is good. It's not the best I've tasted, but it's solid. For pepperoni lovers, order a slice here ($3). Literally every inch (minus the crust) of the slice was layered with pepperoni. It gives new meaning to the term 'extra pepperoni'. My 4-yo son did drop his slice of pizza after taking only about 4 bites, and the server was nice enough to replace the slice without charging us extra. We also ordered 6" Italian subs ($6.95).
