Came in on a rainy Saturday evening. The place, which is nicely set up with some Turkish touches (and some tv's) was not crowded. To get to the seating area, you walk by a large bar at the front. It was a bit off-putting, as it wasn't clear to me whether the place was a bar with food or a restaurant. Once you settle in at your table, it's clear it's a restaurant. My partner and I shared the Appetizer platter, which includes Hummus, Dolma, Baba Ganoush, Cous Cous, Eggplant Salad, Potato & Bean Salad, & yogurt. It also comes with pita bread, cut into small slices/triangles. You can also order falafel as an add-on, at $2 per falafel ball. The appetizer platter items were all good. The pita was a bit hard and didn't have much flavor. it was also a small portion of pita - we ran out fairly quickly. The falafel balls were also very good. Crunchy on the outside, but moist and flavorful inside. Really good falafel. The service was fine. We did have to call the staff over to fill water glasses. Service could have been better, considering the restaurant wasn't crowded. My beef with the place is the price. The platter is $27.99, and $2 each for falafels. I think that's a high price point for the platter. At a minimum, it could include 2 falafel balls to help better justify the high price. read more

We were here on an off season Friday night. I feel that Semra's is very under-appreciated. The decor is nice with lots of Turkish items. Polite and fast service, and we have been here a few times and the food is always delicious! Tonight I had the shawarma platter and my spouse had a shrimp kabob. Everything was perfectly prepared. We ate here on Monday and very much enjoyed it! The hummus and pita was good, as was the lamb and beef shawarma. My fiancé liked her entree was well. Convenient location right off the boardwalk too. Only downside was it was a tad pricey (although very little by the boardwalk is cheap) and I would've liked more meat in my entree. However, quality was definitely solid. And nice to have a Mediterranean spot near the beach too. We would eat here again. read more

We were warmly welcomed by owner and seated in the empty Dining room. This is off season and it was off dinner hours. Ordered the feta cheese and pita appy. It was good although the cheese was just a bit on the dry side. I opted for my go-to Gyro platter that came with grilled vegetables namely 1/2 pieces of red and green peppers and onions, couple pieces of pita and seasoned rice. My gyro meat was on the dry side and a bit tough from being overdone. Flavors were ok. I would have liked the vegetables to be cut a bit smaller as they were not as done as I like. After the fact we were told we could have opted for a salad or fries as our side. They also had issues with the fountain drinks, no flavor in the coke products. read more

My husband and I are Greek. We were born in Greece. Point being that we know Mediterranean food . We were on the beach and wanted a nice lunch . A gyro and fries sounded perfect. We went and ordered from the take out window. The guy at counter was nice and friendly. He took our order and we got it about 10-15 mins later. The lamb and beef gyro sadly was the worst we ever had. The pita bread was good but it was too hot and soft like they had microwaved it. The gyro meat just didn't taste right. I really wanted to like it but it was pretty bad. The tzatziki wasn't really flavorful either. The fries were all soft and just Meh. I ate half my gyro and tossed the rest. So disappointing. read more

I temper my expectations at the beach. Most restaurants are not that good, and the good ones are too expensive. Semra's is an exception. Good food at a fair price. We began with two appetizers. Hummus, and baba ganoush. Both were great starts to the meal. They came with fresh pita, and brought us more pita when we asked for it. One of our entrees was the lamb and beef gyro. It came with grilled veggies and rice. We also got the chicken kabob dinner. And lastly, moussaka. The moussaka wasn't this heavy casserole you sometimes see. It had all the elements, but looked more like a stew. The taste was spot on, and they didn't have to roll us out in a wheel barrel after the meal. What a wonderful surprise on the boardwalk! This take away or table service food is super tasty! We chose to sit inside and the ambiance is like being transported to a far off land. The service was great and they offered to answer any questions we might have about the food. If you don't want to wait in line next door at Thrasher's fries I dare say these are just as good if not better! The menu offered lots of great choices. Wow. I think they keep getting better. Over several visits I've had increasingly nice meals. The fish dishes are very tasty and nicely done. Excellent wine list. On a recent visit, we were stopping for a lighter meal with appetizers hummus and tabouli, sharing a lamb shawarma. And that magic puffy bread and flowered oils. Hummus is super smooth and flavorful. We got a Greek gyro here for lunch at Rehoboth Beach. The sandwich was very tasty and the the staff very friendly. We loved the Rehoboth area with all the shops and restaurants. I go to Rehoboth Beach pretty often and have never really noticed Semra's even though it's on the boardwalk. The front is a take-out and the dining area is in the back. I only came here recently for a bachelorette party dinner. It's a super casual place. My friend and I shared the hummus and pita and shrimp skewer appetizer. The hummus was freshly made. I also tried a friend's lamb kabob entree and wish I had ordered that instead. Very tasty dish. If you've never had Mediterranean food before, they have an appetizer sampler that's pretty good. read more

Hell yeah! My parents and I ate here our first meal while visiting the Delaware beaches while on a trip looking for places to move. I love Mediterranean food, always find great option as a vegan. However usually I am not able to eat at these types of restaurants with my family because my brother and sister are quite picky. But it was just my parents and I so we were able to eat here !! I was stunned at all the vegan options within the appetizer section alone, I couldn't pick and wanted to try them all. Luckily there was an option to get a sample mezze platter with a few of the appetizers. The server was extremely kind and told me if I wanted it vegan he would replace the yogurt with their tahini. So I ordered that with 3 falafel balls. The platter came with slices of fresh, fluffy, warm and soft pita bread. Everything was very good! It was nice to not have to choose just one thing. My favourite of course was the falafel and hummus, the eggplant roast and the bean salad! Everything else was also amazing but I ate mostly my favourite things as a majority of my meal. My dad enjoyed his gyro, they authenticity cook their meat on a rotisserie! My mom got the kids grilled cheese - lol, this is cheese served on pita bread. This was my go-to restaurant during our week in Rehoboth Beach. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The gentleman who took our order and served it was very patient and took time to listen carefully, as well as explaining what certain spices or dishes were. One year ago we were looking to move to Delaware. It was late and we were hungry and Semra's was open. It was so good that we ate there for 2 nights in a row. We did move south of here a year later and now come here once a week. The owner is very very nice and the food is excellent!!! We get the lentil soup which is out of this world! The hummus, baba ganoush, and dolma ... EXCELLENT!!! My husband and I are vegan and vegetarian so this is perfect for us. We come here at least 3 times a month. We order, wait by the beach, walk back after about 10 mins, and then sit on the beach and eat. What a treat! We highly recommend. read more
