    Thai style summer rolls
    Bill W.

Just of learned of Sticky Rice a few days ago and so happy I did. This is legit, traditional Thai food (unlike some other places in the area). Not fusion. Not mass produced. Not a funky menu. It's, literally, a little, Thai lady cooking food from her homeland. The summer rolls are Thai, not Vietnamese. No noodles. No carrot. No pork. Thai style! Thai basil, shrimp and cilantro. Very fresh. The sweet, vinegar sauce was on point. The Lab Gai was tasty and tangy and spicy. It was served with shredded cabbage instead of lettuce cups but it worked! Served room temp/cold; I prefer it warmer. It had excellent, but not overpowering, heat. The Green Curry was off the charts! Creamy, sweet, spicy and delicious! Great amount of chicken and eggplant. Plating was odd; like a cereal bowl but again it worked! Rice was extra. Nigel the server was welcoming and attentive. The chef came out to the table as well (always a good thing). I did notice another employee eating in the customer area (another review mentioned this as well) and it was a little ...uncomfortable....but hey! It's a family style, Thai place and I was sort of off-hours for lunch, anyway. So...ok! Don't miss this place! Oh..and if it's not to your liking, Capriotti's is next door for an Italian sub. $51 (incl 1 beer) + tip

We ordered takeout Tom Yum soup. It was our 1st time ordering at this restaurant; we're trying new cuisines. I don't like to give bad reviews. The flavor deserves a 5, but the woody, inedibles and the unexpected sediment at the bottom of bowl I won't excuse.

Toddler size portion of mussaman curry with rice. Pay full price for half the portion.

The atmosphere here is quiant and nicely decorated, albeit small with tables being close together. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The food was really good, with authentic Thai flavors. The issue: the portions. The resturant has attached the name tapas to thier title. This implies small plates, which is exactly what you get, despite ordering a full meal entree. My companion ordered the summer rolls. These were completely filled with lettuce (no noodles) and looked unappetizing. She did not enjoy. We both ordered the drunken noodles. She ordered extra veggies, and I ordered chicken. Mine had very little chicken, and the portion size was small. I also ordered the mussaman curry chicken. This was the smallest curry portion size I've ever received from the dozens of Thai restaurants I've been too. The portion of rice, was actually equal to the portion of curry. It was kind of insulting based on the prices of the entrees. Seems like they're cashing in on the tourism in the area. We traveled from Ocean City Maryland to try this place out, but will not do so again.

    Tiny container

Even if the food was fantastic - it was average - I would never order from sticky rice again because of the teeny tiny portions. I have had side dishes in larger containers and I had to pay $3 for that mini container of rice. See my pictures.

    Chicken Pad Thai

Perfect service! Very nice and welcoming. The Massaman Curry was amazing and had lots of carrots. Pad Thai was also delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more items.

    Sticky rice with grilled pork

I like the sticky rice with grilled pork. The price of the food is reasonable, but I feel guilty as if I disturbed the staff while they were eating. I would like to suggest that the restaurant provide seats for the staff so that they do not have to face the customers who come to eat in the restaurant. I don't hate them but I feel sorry for them.

Good. Seems a little expensive for smaller sizes, but not too bad. I got Pad See Ew (veg) and thought it was okay. Veggies mostly broccoli and mushroom with a little carrot, and noodles seemed overcooked/mushy. I also got Red Curry with Chicken. Pretty spicy (2 peppers), fairly tasty, chicken a little overcooked/dry but overall, good. One I get back in Lancaster is a little less sharp in flavor, and I prefer that. The mango sticky rice was delicious. Taking another dessert home for my hubby, along with leftovers. Got takeout, but young man was pleasant greeting me, got food in about 15 minutes. Decorated cute inside- may eat there next time.

    drunken noodles

we got the drunken noodles and pad see ew and they were both delicious! we asked for it spicy and it was definitely very spicy and flavorful. will definitely be back. the ambiance was also very cute and the service was fast.

Thereafter, the food on the "Asian Fusion" menu sounds great, but leaves much to be desired. More confusion, than fusion. Dumpling Special is a cool notion (why not save a few bucks?). But, when it arrives without ginseng slivers, nor a spoon for dripping the dark vinegar into the removed top knot to mix with the beef soup within the Xiao Long Bau, it becomes apparent skill is lacking in the kitchen. It doesn't help that these dough pouches are commercially bought and not made by knowing hands. The Singapore Black Pepper Crab bowl was sure Szechuan spicy enough, but had so little crab that my crustacean loving wife turned on her phone flashlight to find some. They were ground so small that they were nearly invisible, but could be slightly tasted by their mild sweetness. Just not enough substance to balance the other ingredients. My Cumin Lamb Ho Fun was likewise deep into the heat and looked good with the fat noodles mixed throughout. However, once again the kitchen's lack of deftness appeared with too many tough, stringy and fatty pieces of lamb that were unpleasant and overbore the generally decent quality of the rest of the dish. From my experience, that only happens when attention isn't paid to the texture of the meat when slicing. Cutting lamb against the grain is a no-no. So, even though I enjoyed the Moon Door entrance, the Bodhi (Enlightenment) name and all the on point Asian decor, it was disappointing that all that spirituality stopped at the kitchen door. 2.5 Shakyamuni-less Stars.

Bodhisattva, Bodhisattva" (Steely Dan) Bodhi Kitchen is an absolutely beautiful Asian restaurant in downtown Rehoboth Beach where you'll find their menu dotted with delicacies from Thailand, Korea, China, Vietnam and Japan. When you walk in, the bar is right in front of you, and the two-level dining room is to your right. We sat in the upper level and the thing that struck me immediately was how pretty the room was. There were two kinds of hanging lantern-style lights, and some of them had flickering gold bulbs that resembled candlelight. It was a beautiful effect. The menu is a real tour-de-force with dishes like Peking Duck Tacos, Shaoxing Braised Duck Laab, Pork Belly Steam Bun, Braised Cumin Lamb Ho Fun, and Singapore Black Pepper Crab. In addition to all that, they have nightly specials like a "Curry Night", "Asian Street Food Night", or "Dim Sum Night" among others. We happened to visit on Dim Sum Night, so that's where we went on the menu. We ordered two of their Dim Sum specials - six Pork Soup Dumplings ($13) with ground pork, ginger, scallion, rice wine and pork broth, and a Dumpling Sampler ($17) with two each of Pork Belly and Kim Chi dumplings, Shiitake and Chinese Sausage Dumplings, and Szechuan Chicken Dumplings. I had the sampler and thought it was very good. The three varieties all delivered plenty of flavor, and the pork belly and Szechuan chicken dumplings also came through with their advertised heat from peppercorns, five spice and chili oil. Our server Paula was friendly and professional. All in all, Bodhi scored high in ambience, food, and service.

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. Succulent shrimp, cheesy grits, and a nice porky meat to give it extra character. Here they use chorizo. But ham or bacon are good options as well. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. They work better when it comes to a bisque or a chowder. Besides that, I have little to complain about.
