The variety of ethnic grocery products is acceptable but the ambience is kind of not comfortable for at least some people

They no longer serve this food. I was a little disappointed, but they should update this. The food looks good on here, but they do not sell this food any more. It is only a grocery store, which is cool I guess. read more

It seems that the owner has changed and the actual store does not look like the pictures on Google maps. Also, most of the positive reviews are from the past (~4 yrs ago). Currently, it is much smaller with fewer selections of items, and there is no restaurant inside as can be seen from some of the pictures. When you buy from here check your receipt carefully as they sometimes increase the quantity of some of your items. This happened with me and the owner didn't handle it very well. read more

I had the grape leaves platter - baba ganoush, hummus, a salad and grape leaves? Yes please. Everything was good, but not mind-blowing (which isn't a fair bar for anyone). The fresh mango juice hit the spot! I love that there's a shop attached to the restaurant. Many of the patrons seemed to know the server and be regulars, and the shop is handy for picking up staples like cous cous (SO many options) and some necessary but hard-to-get (in my neck of the woods) items like grape leaves for when you want to make your own read more

This place is by far the best middle eastern restaurant on the East coast. Just the right amount of spicy, great flavors, and overall very delicious. The prices are not bad at all, and portions are fair. We order kibbeh, arayes, and samosa (mixed) all melt in mouth, you can taste the flavors of the spices with a hint of hot. The eggplant stew is to die for. Their dessert (basbousa) is the best I've ever had, tbh I've never tasted anything with just the right amount of everything. It wasn't saggy, it wasn't too sweet. Try their Moroccan tea it's a different kind of green tea. Over all I'm glad we stopped here, and definitely will come back on our way to Philly / DC. read more

Food is great but the service needs major improvement. The old man at the front desk doesn't know what he's doing. The kids from the kitchen had to come and help to get me some food! I didn't even get what I ordered but I need food for lunch quickly. In less than 5 minutes my plate came. Altogether, the food is great but the service is not good. read more

We went back for lunch after going to UD. I ordered a salad, veggie and chicken samosas, and hummus with lamb. Veg samosas were great but chicken were a little odd. The crunch was there for both which is what we like. Salad had bottled dressing which was disappointing and the hummus and lamb wasn't particularly good. The atmosphere however is lovely and the owner is friendly and offers good conversation. read more

I stopped in this restaurant/grocery store a little too early for the lunch buffet, so i opted for the falafel appetizer and a gyro sandwich. The falafel was crisp on the outside and very tasty.. The gyro was pretty good also. Although the pita that it was served on tasted like it was either frozen or premade, it wasn't a bad meal. Inside the store there was all types of candy, spices, gifts, clothing, drinks, and frozen products. I wish i had more time to just hang out. But i will stop in again the next time that I'm in the area. read more

My husband and I have driven here twice now as we make a stop at the Biden Welcome Center to charge our electric car as we drive from DC to NY. It's about 5 min away and well worth the slight detour. The food is fantastic and a freshly prepared in the kitchen and yes some other things best middle eastern food I've had. We've had the lamb gyro, chicken schwarma sandwich a d last time we stopped there we each got kebab platters which were huge. Greatest value for the money too! read more

Came for lunch. After sitting for maybe 5 minutes I wasn't sure if there was wait service, so I went up to the counter and ordered there. Come to find out as others trickled in that they did have a waiter, he just didn't wait on me. I tried the turkish coffee, falafel appetizer and beef shawarma. 4 tiny falafel discs came out with cold, store bought wheat pita triangles, 4 tomato slices and a thimble of tahini; tasty, but pretty small. The beef shawarma was tough, overcooked steak strips with onion and gherkins, wrapped in what seemed like a low carb wheat tortilla. The Turkish coffee was actually really good. If you get it, just be sure to fold up a napkin to grab the pot handle, or you will burn your hand. It didn't need any sugar since it was already kind of sweet. The music over the PA system sounded like it was from the same computer someone was using to IM, because I kept hearing the same BLOOP new message notifications the whole visit. read more

Asked Yelp for help to find a middle eastern eatery while driving on I 95. Despite being off the highway with a strong desire of a fellow passenger we decided to go here. In a shopping center. Looks eh from outside. Freind insisted. So went in. I ordered chicken shawarma. Maybe I was to hungry but it was delicious. They had this tangerine drink - was amazing. Had 4 of them. Liked it and was worth getting if I 95 - good substitute for a lousy burger at the rest stop. read more

This is a good place if you like middle eastern foods. The restaurant isn't fancy, trendy or upscale but you will get authentic quality food. I have dined in as well as carry out a couple times. Service is friendly and food has good flavors. The market next store is a good addition for specialty items for recipes and if you enjoy these types of foods and delicacies. read more

Thanks yelp for this restaurant. One among the best middle eastern food in the erea. I love the flafel platter, crunchy and tender inside, I recommend for the vegetarian, my husband took the chicken biryani platter and my son the chicken tender, the basboussa was so good with Turkish caffe and the chocolate. Special thanks for the waiter. I'll be back read more

The place is a hole in the wall. Not much of a restaurant vibe, as the grocery store shares the same space. The TV was playing soccer game from some Arabian league quite loudly. Hummus was very good. The best I've eaten in the Delaware valley so far. The Babaganoush was A++. Among the best I've eaten, including in the actual middle east. The pitas are not fresh, and too thin. The falafel is under spiced but crispy and fresh. The stuffed grape leaves are vegetarian and pretty good. The hummus with meat was good. I will definitely Be back. read more

The food is fantastic, everything starting from the appetizers to the shawrma, shishtawook, and mixed grills. I wanted to give five stars, but the place needs to be cleaner a little bit. I don't mean it's dirty, no its clean but not very clean may be the day I visited them was different I am not sure. However, it's a great place and I advice you to visit Oasis. read more

Wish we had this place near our home in Vermont! Friendly people greeted us and the menu offered so many delightful meals it was hard to choose. We ordered fresh fruit juices: strawberry and mango and they were from heaven! Amazing fresh fruit for only $2.99! Then we ordered an oasis platter (3 skewers, lamb kebab, chicken kebab and beef kufta, charbroiled, marinated and seasoned served on a bed of rice) - an excellent large meal- a similar Lamb platter, and a Stuffed Grape Leaves platter with hummus, baba ghanooj, a little lettuce, and warm bread. The "salad: on the platters was not much, but it was delicious, "real" food! Plus we found their grocery which had items we had been seeking at a very reasonable price! read more

Came here with friends and sampled a number of dishes for dinner. The falafel was, hands down, the best I'd ever had -- crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and nicely spiced. The other side dishes were all above-average -- very good hummus, as well as baba ganoush, stuffed grape leaves, and pita bread. Kebab entrees were nicely cooked, the basmati rice first-rate. The mint tea came pre-sweetened -- very sweet, in fact -- but strong, hot and delicious. We didn't really leave room for dessert, but the adjoining shop had plenty of individually-sized treats, and a very good selection of spices, too, by the way. Food service in the restaurant was a tad slow, but the staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely worth checking out if you're passing through town or need a nice stop off the Interstate... Recommended. read more

Unfortunately pretty mediocre. Went there for dinner earlier tonight. Service was pretty slow even though our table of six were the only ones there. Food was pretty average: Combo kabob platter - chicken was undercooked and beef was really overcooked Chicken kabob sandwich - this was pretty on point Philly Cheese Steak - wife didn't like it all Samosas - decent appetizers Prices were fair but the food just wasn't very good. Don't think we would return back here. read more

In a cold evening, we were served with a bowl of some kind of bean soup before our food came. This free soup was really tasty and warm our hearts. Service was good and the cook was very friendly. We were the only guest that night. We ordered the OASIS PLATTER $12.99 (1 Lamb, 1 Chicken and 1 Kufta skewer) and the LAMB SHISH KABAB PLATTER $13.99 (Marinated Cubes of veal). Both served with Green Salad and Rice or French Fries. Well, it seems like the lamb was not freshly made, a little bit too chewy. Salad was not really fresh. Rice was luke warm. Even though the food was not excellent, but that was an enjoyable experience. read more

First time here for lunch. Food was really good and service was great. We order the humus with meat which was delicious. The chicken samosa was so so. The Oasis platter with chicken shawarma was really good too but we were full by then so we couldn't finish. Its a lot of food for two people. Portions are generous. We finished off with baklava and Turkish coffee, which was great. Its attached to a grocery store so you can do your shopping all in one stop. Looks like a family run place, woman in the back cooking reminds of he eating a one of my friend's house. A meal can run from $10-20z. read more

While this is not the best Middle Eastern fare that I have had, I have to say that it was real good. I started with the baba ghanoush. Very nice smoky flavor. Good, not the best, but damn good. Had the harira soup. Was nice, but a little mild in the spice department for my tastes. I then had the Oasis Platter, with lamb. chicken and kafta kebabs. This was very good! I asked for the lamb medium. It came a perfect medium. The chicken was very moist. the Kafta was tasty. Rice was refreshingly not mushy. I do have to agree with one thing that a previous poster said... One of the condiments was mayonnaise based instead of yogurt and mint. I ate there on a Tue evening. They were getting pretty busy with take out as well as the adjacent grocery store, so the service was a little slow. I mean really... understandable. They were very friendly. I am traveling on business, but would love to come here again. I also picked up some very cool specialty items and spices read more

This restaurant is a little different. After you sit down you're told to grab your own drink out of the cooler. You're also supposed to grab your own dessert from the dessert case. The place looks like a restaurant, but operates like a takeout joint. I think it's a little confusing. There is nice decor all over the walls that fit the theme of the restaurant. I had the falafel platter and it was good. I like that there is a middle eastern store attached. read more

We ordered beef shawarma and waited for 1 hour. We had to ask them about the status multiple time and each time they replied that the food was ready. Could not walk out as we had already paid. i got a delivery from this place last week. To begin with, they got my order wrong. i ordered for chicken with hummus with meat and I got lamb. But i must point out, the lamb was very well cooked and a little delicious! their shawarma wasn't good at all. The lamb and beef kebabs were overcooked. only the chicken kebab was correctly cooked and was eatable. the rice also felt undercooked. The baba ghanouj tasted so sour i was afraid its gone bad. the best item of the order was the simplest of them all - plain old hummus with pita. i should have ordered 2 of those instead of ordering everything else. read more

I typically don't stray to far from the gyros here. It's for a good reason. They are really good. I come here around every other week for one. Like we go to the greek festival for gyros, but this is the best around maybe ever had. They do have a pretty extensive menu featuring a lot of different options though. Prices are very reasonable and with the attached grocery you can find stuff you couldn't normally find in a mainstream store. I definitely recommend this place. read more

This is my first time coming here and I am from out of town. I had the chicken shawarma (sp?) take out. It is chicken and yellow rice. They were very fast and the food was good. I don't eat a lot of middle eastern foods, but if I'm in town again I would eat here. read more

This was my favorite restaurant to order from for years. Today was the last time. I ordered from this restaurant for delivery and without explanation my order was cancelled and refunded. When I called, the explanation was the, "people in the kitchen had to go." This is the second time this happens recently. At the very least, would have expected a call from the manager prior to the cancellation to explain the issue. I cannot use a restaurant that I cannot count on. read more

I'm just leaving there. I walked in while two merchants were engaged in conversation. I waited politely in my effort to be polite and waited. I stood! We stumbled on this place by accident, driving from NJ to DC. It provided some of the best middle eastern food I've ever had in this country. I ordered the Gyro and Chicken Kebab. It was marvelous! Kind staff and nice decor. Reasonably priced. I recommend it.

The food here is good but not the best. I've tried a lot of things there with my favorite being the falafel sandwich and the eggplant salad. The only complaint I have is that most of the meat dishes I get are pretty dry. They say they marinade their meats and what not but it doesn't taste like it to me. Either that or they cook it for way too long. Either way, it isn't bad at all. I order from here occasionally as I live right down the street. read more

My girlfriend and I found this place on yelp during a trip from New Jersey to DC while avoiding the Delaware I-95 toll shakedown. This grocery store slash restaurant is located an bland suburban strip mall but the food is excellent and reasonably priced. The owner was really nice and made us feel at home. The restaurant was empty though on a Friday night at 730, which initially was cause for alarm. We were proven wrong though. The dishes we both has we're really tasty and it felt like the food was home cooked. In fact, it was, because the kitchen was open and you could watch it being prepared. Implicit in this that the food took very long to come out. So don't expect fast food! We also thought the place could have used a quick cleaning as some of the tables still hadn't been cleared from prior unseen guests. Overall a great experience brought to you by yelp. read more
