This was my friend and i's first authentic Mediterranean restaurant experience and we absolutely loved it! My friend's vegetarian so we were pleased to see the menu clearly marked which dishes were vegetarian or gluten free. We ordered the moujadara and the makali sandwich which were both delicious. The moujadara had the best carmalized onions ive had in years which paired nicely with the rice and lentils. The cucumber and tomato salad it came with also had a nice tangy, sour taste that we both couldnt get enough of. I would definitely order this again the next time i visit. The makali sandwich was also very good! It is more akin to a wrao but the cauliflower and eggplant was delicious with the yogurt based sauce inside. Everything was seasoned beautifully and we left feeling refreshed and satisfied. The interior was very nice and spacious. The staff was very helpful too and I appreciated how they had a dedicated parking space for customers. I cant wait to come back here next time and try the other menu options! First time in after the current owners have taken over. Here many times before and really like the new decor over the old. Seems to have more seating as well. The food before was good, new owners have improved the dishes even more. Menu is smaller, but all the important dishes are here. Had the app combo with a pick three, baba ghanoush, cheese rolls and a pepper walnut dip I won't attempt to spell, lol. All were solid, baba was great. They use the same style pita as before in a plastic bag. Wife ordered the kebab sampler, I did the lamb kebab. Kebabs done perfectly, lamb one was really tender and her chicken one was especially flavorful. Served with a decent amount of pilaf and sides to pick from. Don't forget to order the garlic sauce for the Kebabs, killer. Quite a few new desserts to pick from. I had the one with fried bread in a syrup covered with a type of thick cream and pistachios, wife had another that was kind of a custard with some type of shredded wheat on top. Both awesome, big difference.vover the baklava we usually get. Finished off with Turkish coffee (not on menu). The whole experience was great, an owner waited the table, great guy. Oh. My. Goodness!!! Hands down, the best Mediterranean restaurant I've ever eaten at! The rack of lamb knocked me out! Soooo tender and well-seasoned. The owner is such a gem, as well. Answered all of our questions enthusiastically, and we left with even more appreciation of their authentic cuisine. Very clean and attractive yet casual decor, too. My husband and I ate at Aladdin Restaurant this past weekend. It was our first time there. The owner greeted us and asked if we knew what we wanted, we were having a hard time deciding on sides to pick. The owner offered to give us a small sample of each so we co pick out two of our favorite. After trying all of the sides it was so hard to choose just 2! All of it was delicious. The hummus was one of the best I had. They wrapped each pita, to keep them fresh and soft. Our main course was fantastic, the portions allowed for us to take leftovers home. We had a wonderful experience , I felt like I was part of their family, they treated us with wonderful service. I'm planning my next visit back as we live an hour away. Service was terrible. Young waitress kept using the excuse she was new, but no one was assisting her. We ran out of beverages 3 times and the last time we had to ask for it we never saw her again. When the food was brought out, no words were spoken, just showing us the food and we were to know who got what. We got the vegetarian platter so we could try a little bit of a lot of things. It was wonderful. The cold items came out right away, with the tabouleh a particular favorite. The new owner came out to introduce himself, and we had a nice chat. How often does that happen? The food has improved along with everything else. Dined there with to friends on 07/30/2025. Top of the line restaurant. It is Syrian food. If you are mostly familiar with Lebanese cuisine, this will seem very familiar, but has it's own character. The dining area is open, clean, and comfortable. You won't feel crowded even if the diing area is fully occupied. The atmosphere is casual. We loved that they play Arabic love songs, not so loud as to be intrusive, but just enough to bring upbeat melody to the meal. Also, the restaurant is very easy to get to, being on a main street and the parking lot is directly out front. The food is worth taking a long drive. I came from 80 miles away and my friends traveled 50 miles. The portions are generous, but not wasteful. You will not leave hungry. Everything tasted extraordinarily fresh. The veggie stuffed grape leaves are home made by them. They were warm, with fluffy rice, and properly spiced. The cheese rolls, deep fried, were light, delicate, and creamy. The ful moudoumas was 100% authentic. The tabouleh was the best I've ever eaten by far. I had the lamb saute entry. The vegetables were cooked to crisp tender, bright and colorful while the the lamb was tender and flavorful. Nothing burnt. The rice pilaf is fluffy, not sticky, and delicately flavored. No artificial chicken broth coloring or flavoring. My friends had the chicken and beef shwarma sandwiches. I loved my meal, but I'm ordering the beef shwarma next time (they gave me a bite). They were awesome. Beverages for us were iced rose water (correctly proportioned flavor), and Arabic coffee and tea, served as you would be in a restaurant in Syria. The desserts were incredible. We ordered the Aish Al Saraya and the ice cream with Ghazel Banat. It was just the sweetest ending to a great meal. The staff is very warm and friendly. It makes you happy to be there. Aladdin is a solid spot for Mediterranean food in the heart of Reading. It doesn't appear to be too inviting from the outside, but don't be fooled! I visited yesterday with a group and we all genuinely enjoyed our meals! Outdoor seating was pleasant on a sunny day, and the patio was spacious. My tabouleh was very fresh, not overly saturated in oil and had high notes of lemon juice and garlic which came through nicely. Probably one of the best I've ever had. I ordered the chicken kebab dinner; the chicken itself was just about average. The meat was cooked through just fine, although I did feel the need to add a bit of salt. The rice pilaf which it sat atop was perfect! Super soft with just the right of mild spice coming through, this I devoured. The pita for the table was bland. It was lacking flavor and didn't have the thickness/puffiness that I was looking for; not bad by any means, just underwhelming. My husband enjoyed his shrimp dinner and said it was very flavorful. My baklava was flaky and sweet, exactly the way it should be! I enjoyed the crumbled pistachio ontop. The only thing I will say was that our server was forgetful (she first forgot to bring tahini sauce to the table, she had to come back outside to ask again what my husband ordered and then at the end completely forgot to bring out my dessert.) She was sweet, but mentioned to us that she was overwhelmed and the establishment was understaffed. To be honest, there was only one other couple outside on the patio besides us, so I'm not too sure about that. We had an amazing dinner at Aladdin this evening. Everything was incredible! For appetizers we had falafel, stuffed grape leaves and bruschetta. Aladdin's bruschetta is very flavorful and a must try! If you haven't tried it you are missing out! For entrees we ordered the Chicken Shawarma, Lamb Sauté and Chicken Sauté. They were all equally delicious. It is apparent that everything they make is from the best and freshest ingredients. And, to make a delicious meal even better, our server was super friendly and accommodating. The first thing that threw me off was that they did not provide free water. Instead, you have to buy bottled water. Next, all of the main dinner entrees were priced up around the 25-28 dollar mark. We tried both the beef and chicken shwarma. Unfortunately, both were extremely bland and dry. Neither meat seemed marinated or seasoned well at all. The rice provided was bad also. It seemed as if it was undercooked, dehydrated, or just poor quality rice. The serving size itself was below average given the price and quality of the food. Service was very kind and promptly.
