The location is pretty prime; it's at a busy intersection where they can get a lot of business. Parking looks small but there are spots in the back. The interior is new; i did take out but it looks super nice and spacious. The food is ok point... Got a chicken, lamb and, kofta. Surprisingly... Kofta was the most delicious. I thought I would love the classic chicken but the kofta has such great blend of herbs and spices that it's incredibly flavorful. I would love to get their falafel next. DELICIOUS! Everything was fresh and the service was friendly. The staff explained all of the offerings to us as first time customers. The cilantro sauce and hot sauce were both delicious and fresh. We ordered two lamb and beef gyro pitas. We'll be back for sure. Next time I plan on getting the platter so I can pile more veggie toppings onto my plate. The French fries were dropped when ordered and piping hot! It's a Chipotle ordering style. You pick your meal/meat and continue down the line picking what topping you want. Absolutely horrendous. I ordered 2 "spicy" chicken sandwiches, today March 14,2026. I am fasting for Ramadan so was looking forward to some good halal food. However when i got home, my family and i realized that both of the chicken patties were regular chicken sandwich, not "spicy " how i ordered; although i confirmed with the cashier and he insisted it was spicy chicken. To make matters worse, the chicken patty is raw. Inedible. Took a bite and the middle of the patty is raw, gummy, chewie. I stopped in during a late lunch before getting my nails done. I miss halal carts from living in Philly, and this really hit the mark! Even at 2pm on a Thursday, there was a line. While it wasn't as fast as I'd hoped, I got my pakora chips fried fresh. They were delicious! I also got the chicken/rice platter. I'm from California and there is a Shah's Halal Food when I am from. When I saw that there was one in Lancaster, I HAD to try it and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The food is just as if not more delicious than what I have had before. I got the combo platter with chicken and lamb and my oh my the portions were hearty and everything tasted very fresh and delicious. The meat was super tender and juicy, the vegetables were very fresh, and ultimately the value was what really got me. Shah's Halal Food is a welcome addition to the Lancaster, PA food scene occupying the space of a former pizzeria along a busy street right outside of the city. Signage has been up for a few months and I have been anticipating their opening. I finally discovered this week they are open so I had to get there. I stopped in today with some coworkers for lunch. This is a fast casual establishment serving build your own platters, gyros, salads and also features some sandwiches and side orders on the menu. Service was quick and friendly and the interior was clean. I ordered the Kofta Kebab Platter. Platters include choice of protein served over basmati rice and salad. The Kofta Kebab Platter comprises of two chicken skewers that were sliced. I chose to add cucumbers, tomatoes, hummus, onion, white sauce, hot sauce and BBQ sauce was accidentally added but did not interfere with the flavors. Every bite was an explosion of flavors that I thoroughly enjoyed and everything was delicious. Be aware that their hot sauce has good kick to it! My coworkers all enjoyed their food as well. The falafel, Kofta and fries are all cooked to order so there is a small wait if you order those items. I definitely plan on returning to try other items on the menu. read more

WOW! So this place was on my list to try. My husband and I stopped here for an impromptu lunch. There's plenty of parking. The staff is SO friendly. The place was clean. My wife and I were so excited to see they opened up in Lancaster. We're originally from NY and would frequent Shah's before we moved. There aren't many halal places where we currently live, and the few around don't hit like Shah's do. It was about a 50 min drive for us, totally worth it. We both agreed the food tasted even better than our hometown Shah's. My lamb wasn't too greasy, her chicken wasn't too spicy, it was all perfect. if you are ordering something Middle Eastern, the food is fine. But be sure you emphasize exactly what you want or you will get things that you don't want on there. But don't bother ordering a sandwich from them. This is the second time I have ordered a cheeseburger that came without cheese on a stale bun with a thin circle of ketchup on it. As a South Asian this was such horrible food omg. I got the combo platter and the pakora chips. Chicken was so bland, no flavor. I think it's the food color that they use to make it look flavorful but it's not. The gyro was so nasty, spam consistency and again no flavor. Sauces literally made me feel so sick. I don't understand what the hype is about but I don't think it's suitable for South Asian palettes. Too many things on the menu, maybe they need to make the flavor and quality better for the items they are most known for then add all these other things.
