Food tastes is good. Service very good they changed too fried salmon fish grill. Good environment and nice behaviour

Greta staff. Excellent food. We've come here every week for over a month just to really taste the menu. I would suggest the lamb skewers. If that's not your thing, the Cornish hen with orange sauce is also pretty good.

Good, but not amazing Persian food. As Dave L noted, it is a little unassuming spot which would be perfect for a causal meal. The lamb was a solid choice if you are seeking a recommendation. While I believe all dishes come with rice, only a few come with anything else. However, the portions are fair and will fill you up. Of course, if you aren't quite full there is always Baklava.

Absolutely delicious! Wonderful and uplifting setting with very friendly staff. We had a very big party and they were so nice and accommodating to everyone who came. I got the chicken tender kabab and it was delicious!

As an Iranian, I was excited to find a Persian spot near Philly. The kashke bademjan and salad shiraz were really good! However, the chicken and rice were quite dry, and the baklava was okay but not my favorite. The service was also just okay--our server seemed to be in a bad mood, but the manager did apologize for her attitude. It was nicely decorated with Persian paintings.

Was recommended by an Iranian man so wanted to check it out. Quiet, small, family owned place with pretty flowers and a pond in front. Inside pleasant and quiet. Delicious hummus, pita, and house salad appetizers. I had eggplant/tomato mush served with basmati rice and a skewer of nicely grilled veggies. Husband had very savory, rich lamb shank in gravy with rice imbedded with sweet raisins, nuts, and dates. Service excellent and staff very cordial. I would recommend the owner lower the lights and get rid of the paper place mats. Otherwise excellent meal.

We were glad to discover this amazing place . The food is authentic and the service was amazing . The servers were super friendly and responsive . My son has an egg and nuts allergy and they were very accommodating for that . They double checked everything before serving , which we really appreciated . The decor of the restaurant is sort of a snap shot from a Persian restaurant from the 80s but that gives it a retro authentic look . Maybe playing Persian music would add to the environment even more . We order the Jojeih and barg kebab as well Fasenjoon.. Also ordered Humus and lentil soup . The kebabs and lentil soup were amazing ! The rest was decent , the humus could have been better . It's not Persian so that is fine I suppose . But all in all a pretty epic experience!

I had a great meal at the Persian Grill a couple of nights ago. Everything was fresh and delicious! I appreciated how large their menu was and all of the different meat options that I could choose from. I got a kebab combo with lamb and saffron spiced hen which were both super flavorful.

We enjoyed a delicious early dinner at Persian Grill. I've been expanding my culinary palette and dining here was delightful. The menu has plenty of meat and vegetarian options. The hummus appetizer was smooth and flavorful. The crispy and chewy pitas were excellent! For the entree, I ordered the Khoresh Fesenjan, a stew that tastes nothing like it looks. A rich sauce of walnut and pomegranate gives it a sweetness that complements the chicken. The basmati rice is as fluffy as it gets- perfect! The baklava was interesting, more of a spice cake taste than others I've had (Turkish/Greek baklava tend to be more heavy, drenched in honey and sweet, which I love). The service was quick and pleasant and the portion size is very generous. Looking forward to coming again and trying something else.

Finally back after more than a year! This is one of those places you leave and are already thinking about when you will return. The food is so flavorful and consistently good. I love the ground lamb and ground beef. The spice mix and grilled flavor are memorable. Always friendly service. Beer and wine available. Can't wait to return...again

The Persian Grill on Germantown Pike outside Chestnut Hill

For my last review of 2020 - a year like no other - it's time to eat Persian again. This time in an old standby restaurant right outside of Chestnut Hill called the Persian Grill. Of course because of pandemic restrictions, only take out was available but it was a good decision as it made for a nice feast for a friend and I back at my place. I'm gonna say this up front - Persian Grill does not serve the most delicious Persian (Iranian) food I've ever eaten (there are a few Persian spots in Vienna I would rate higher) but it does cook up tasty food in good portions at a decent price. And so many Persian favorites are on the menu. I began my meal last week with Mirza Ghasemi - a smoky and grilled egg plant + dish with a bit of egg. We also had a Moost O-Moosir appetizer (think seasoned yogurt here). Both of these were accompanied by pita bread. An Ash Reshteh soup was next and fortunately was laden with veggies. This soup also contains kashk (whey) and caramelized garlic. Of course my favorite dish always is Khoresh Fesenjan -over basmati saffron rice. The chicken was delicately cooked in the well-known sauce consisting of pomegranate, walnuts, and molasses It's a winner. Persian Grill is good to know about when you want to change up your usual bill-of-fare and delve into one of the world's oldest cuisines.

    Yes!

Yes! It's all halal, I've been eating there for years.

Ray, if you are talking about the Persian Grill in Hatboro, it used to be a small restaurant called Nirvana. Persian Grill in Hatboro is excellent. And it's BYOB!

Best Thing I Ever Ate: Hummus, Lamb Shoulder…read more This was my second visit to Zahav while visiting Philadelphia. I'm glad I had visited before because I knew the importance of pacing myself. I knew I could only enjoy a little knibble of each of the delicious salads that were initial placed on the table. I think I ate all the twice-cooked eggplant. It was so good! The hummus is honestly the best I've ever had, and the laffa bread is such a yummy accompaniment. I had to stop myself from eating too much! I tried the Phyllo-wrapped Haloumi. It was ok, but I liked my dad's Freekeh Arancini better. The Pomegranate Lamb Shoulder is the reason I had to pace myself. This is also one of my favorite lamb dishes that I've ever had. The greens are a nice accomaniment. I didn't care for the crispy rice, and it was the only thing I didn't like. I got the Pecan Konafe for dessert and it was like an exotic pecan pie. Love this! The honey ice cream was so refreshing after a big meal. I left very happy.

I cannot think of a single way Zahav could have been a better culinary experience. I came to know…read moreabout this restaurant through Eater's "Mise En Place" video series on YouTube and was struck by the care and contemplation put into each dish. The second I knew I was visiting Philly, I set a reminder on my phone to vie for a reservation. We got a 9:30pm reservation, which was late for my usual dining habits but absolutely no question worth the extra few hours to build up and appetite and anticipate going to such a renowned restaurant. We were met with a beautiful dining room and kind, passionate people at Zahav, especially our bartenders, who made our experience a true EVENT, describing each dish to us even as we were making decisions on the tasting menu, and vouching for the fact that we MUST try the halloumi, which ended up being my favorite dish! Wow, the care that is put into the craft of this food is unreal. Zahav is a true celebration of cuisine. We started with the laffa bread being served straight out of the fire with accompaniments which were absolute flavor bombs, especially the eggplant and pickled cabbage. The bread was warm, soft, and so flavorful in itself but made even better by the hummus-tehina, which was perhaps the smoothest I've ever had. The Pomegranate Lamb Shoulder fell right off the bone, and the Amba-braised Greens and Crispy Persian Rice were side dishes that felt like main events in themselves -- the crispiness of the rice perfectly complemented the pomegranate sauce of the lamb. This was the perfect celebration dinner, and Zahav quickly made it to the top of my list of places that live up to their hype and go above and beyond in the kindness realm.

The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take real pride in their work, and that energy radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, the premium quality of the ingredients, and the top-tier service. It's rare to find a place that nails all three -- food, ambiance, and hospitality -- but Ravagh absolutely does. My friends and I left feeling completely satisfied, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting with a team that truly cares, Ravagh is the place. A huge thank you to Musa and the entire staff for making our evening so memorable. We'll definitely be back -- and we'll be bringing more friends with us!

Delicious from start to finish!…read more A colleague recommended Ravagh for a team dinner in the Chelsea location and I am so grateful we came here. To drink, I ordered the Tehrani Mule; a take on the moscow with a house made ginger lime juice. 8/10; a tad watery. We decided to go family style with ordering and chose the mediterranean salad, kotlet, and falafel to start. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish. Although the rice was great, it was a really large portion even for the group of 5. It would've been nice to have the option to split to a half portion of vegetables or different grain to balance quantity. Overall 8.9/10 - Definitely worth a visit with a group for business dinner or catching up on a friend's night out. The service is great, everyone is super attentive and you can really feel that the food with made with love. So glad I tried this place and I'll be back to give their dolmeh and dessert a taste!
