It's only recently that I've been introduced to Mediterranean cuisine, and Arpeggio is one of the best restaurants in the Philadelphia Metro area for excellent Mediterranean food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is charming, and in fact you might say upscale for the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Relying on my friend Chris to make our selections, we started off with appetizers. The Creamy Crab Soup could actually have been a meal. It was served with a generous side of Focaccia Bread which was the perfect complement to the dish. We also ordered a plate of Falafel, the Mediterranean Combo Platter and finished with Kataifi Shrimp. But what really impressed me was the service. It was more than a few weeks since I had dined there the first time, and not only did Amanda welcome me back, but she remembered my drink preferences and was ready to make new recommendations. It's been some time since I've been to Arpeggio, but all of my experiences have been positive (and delicious). FYI: Reservations are not available. However, they offer a "waitlist," which can be helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Or do we as we do, and just get there as early as 5pm (that's toddler living, baby). Boy did this place fill up around 6:30pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I typically lean towards the mediterranean options when I dine here, but they really have such a great variety. From pizza, to pasta, salads, or even burgers. We started with the Mediterranean combo platter which came with all the yummies- Humus, Baba Ganush, Tabbouleh, Falafel, Stuffed Grape Leaves & feta (plus, cucumbers for our gluten free diner). All to die for. As for entrees, our tiny queen got chicken fingers and fries- $17 is kinda crazy for a kids meal if I'm being honest, but it's a large portion. I went with the filet souvlaki which was so tasty- especially the tzatziki sauce. My mom went with the leg of lamb platter, and J got a greek salad- add chicken. Enjoyable, all around. For dessert, the tiny queen requested the brownie with vanilla ice cream and the birthday girl (my mom) opted for the lemon cake. Everyone's bellies were very happy by the end. My only complaint are some of the prices and upcharges. $4 add cucumber because someone is gluten free is crazy. Nonetheless, this will not stop us from returning. I dined here for lunch on the 24th. Parking: Private parking lot. Atmosphere: a little noisy, spacious and cozy Service; our server was very nice and accommodating. Food: One truffle pizza - very good cross was just right and crispy. To zaatar bread - OMG the Mediterranean seasoning on this bread gave it life and I thoroughly enjoyed this I could not stop eating it. I even took some to go. Teriyaki salmon was good. Mediterranean combo: Sampling of Humus, Baba Ganush, Tabbouleh, Falafel, Stuffed Grape Leaves & feta; served with Tahina and two fresh pitas. Enjoyed everything except the stuffed grape leaves. This is going to be an involved review. the site looks very good at first glance, but it is crowded and the noise level is very high. If my party goes back we'll take semaphore flags. The menu is very complete and gives lots of range but it also seems to say they don't know what they want to be. there are wonderful high end dishes but also just...pizza. the fact someone at one table is having fine dining and the next is sharing up a pie gives it a little bit of a confused feeling. Also when we were there I observed items packed in cardboard boxes piled up on the side, since the place does not go for a warehouse theme for decorating this looked sloppy. This was not just an 'oops lets put this here' while serving. Someone carried into the back of the dining room and put it up on a shelf. They could just as easily have carried it into the back where that belongs. The place does not take reservations for parties less than 7 which is a problem when we showed up we were told there would be a 40 minute wait. Ok, then 5 minutes later they had a table for us, leading me to wonder about their ability to judge what the heck they were doing. the food was very good but overall the feel was otherwise 'confused' and very noisy making it a feel for a place I don't think I'd rreturn to . read more

More like a 4.5. We had an excellent lunch. Good food. Great, prompt, service. My partner had the Land and Sea and I had the Australian Sea Bass, Athena style. I wanted to share some feedback regarding our last three dining experiences at Arpeggio's. Unfortunately, our experiences have not been positive. The service was extremely slow each time, and we were not attended to as frequently as expected. During our most recent visit, we waited 15 minutes before our drink / appetizer order was even taken and to the point where we were ready to walk out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a Sunday at 6:00 PM and not very crowded, which made the delay even more concerning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also brought in a cake to celebrate a family event and had to walk into the main dining room to find a server to request napkins and forks. When the cake was brought to our table, the server only brought plates, and nothing else. . We've always enjoyed Arpeggio's in the past, which makes these recent visits particularly disappointing. We continued to return, hoping these were just off nights, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. At this point, we've decided not to dine here moving forward. I haven't been here for a very long time, so long that I can't remember! I know the humus is amazing and tonight I had a Greek salad and a plain pizza. The atmosphere is very bright and upbeat, a great vibe helped by byob. The service was top notch , as soon as you are finished your plate is gone! The salad was excellent, the balsamic dressing was delicious. The pizza was also really, really great. They have a brick oven and the crust was a 10 out of ten, as good as you can get. Cheese and sauce also very good and they offer grated Parmesan cheese which really took to another level. The server recommended the peanut butter pie and we thanked her, it was amazing! They make the peanut butter pie on premise. The menu looks great, honestly next time I visit it will be difficult to choose what to order. I do want to try the seafood pizza! read more

Table for 8 on Saturday night. Seated at 6 pm, stayed for 2 hrs. Never rushed to leave. We shared the large appetizer. It was very good. I had the lamb leg , very good. Others had, lamb grill, beet salad, chicken parm, pizza, seafood grill,etc. all the food was well prepares and erred well. Kate our server did a great job. No dessert, but several had coffee, I had a cappuccino. I enjoyed my food here in the past. my parents tried to go tonight for dinner after months of me raving about the food. They were sat outside and completely ignored by waitstaff for over 30 minutes. They ended up leaving without eating. They said there were waitstaff constantly walking by them but they were completely ignored. My parents both used to work in restaurants, they are not demanding people. So for them to leave a restaurant is a big deal. Pretty disappointed as I highly doubt they will attempt to come here again. And if that's how my elderly parents are treated I may consider not visiting again as well. read more

Arpeggios offers a beautiful ambience and good service. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of Springhouse and the lake. Our waiter was very kind and friendly. As for the food, we ordered the mussels to start and they were fine. Not fishy but not overly flavorful either. The bread was nice and soft. The pasta dish had chicken, vegetables and a light white wine sauce. It was unfortunately flavorless and needed to be rescued by mountains of Parmesan cheese. The quality felt OK but the food was average and expensive for what it is. Would recommend if you are looking for a safe BYOB with a good atmosphere but not if you are looking for the best Italian food in the Philly suburbs. read more
