We ended up here unexpectedly when another restaurant we planned to visit was closed on a Tuesday, and we thought we'd give it a try. The service was excellent--our waitress was friendly and attentive. They even brought out complimentary bruschetta, which was delicious and got us excited for the meal. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to that first impression. The linguine with clams I ordered tasted off to the point that I genuinely questioned whether it was spoiled--I couldn't eat it. The chicken parmesan my daughters ordered was just okay, but for the price, we expected much better. The penne was decent, but the sauce on the spaghetti was extremely sour, almost as if it had gone bad. Overall, a very disappointing dining experience food-wise, especially given the prices. The food is always fresh and delicious. They include fresh vegetables with most entrees which is something you don't find everywhere. Service was extremely slow, took at least 18 minutes before anyone took a drink order. Food was not appropriate, portions were small. Order the shrimp cocktail , the menu stated large size, understand not jumbo, I received 3, three small shrimp for $19 !!! Order the filet supposed to be 10 ounce, was served a 5oz, if that. We were seated immediately but it took 15 mins or more for someone to come and take our orders. After about half an hour of waiting we were provided bruschetta on the house, two small bites. We had a great time with friends at Marina's Cafe. The food was actually delicious! It is a BYOB so ithe If there are some in your company that drink and some that don't, it's helpful when spiriting the bill. I had the stuff flounder. It was delicious with well seasoned with tomatoes and capers.. We were all happy with our meals. The atmosphere is kind of so-so, but don't be discouraged. 15 women went into Mirna's for lunch and we were treated like queens. We only had one waitress (May have been the owner but not sure). She was right on top of everything. She asked us if we wanted various items throughout our meal and made suggestions along the way. The food was delicious and we were not hurried in any way. The restaurant itself was very nice. Wow, how the mighty have fallen. I can't say enough how it pains me to give a bad review for a place that I visited countless times; even recommending to my church members, and family, but yesterday was the abyss of customer service. I brought a guest with me to have a dinner meeting, and before could even be seated by the hostess, a young woman with black hair, yells from the counter to the front door, "what do you want, I will be with you shortly". It's not what she said that annoyed me, but how she said it, in a condescending and aggravated manner. I made her aware that I had been there previously and had the waiter Travis extend gracious and courteous service, to which she said, she didn't know any Travis. My guest and I looked at one another and we both agreed we weren't welcomed that day. I am only assuming she was family to the owner, because I can't believe an employee would be that inhospitable. Enjoyed a leisurely lunch at Mirna's Cafe recently. Despite the lunch crowd, we were seated immediately. Took a gander at their menu, and couldn't resist the large pasta section. Ordered the Penne Rustica ($9; they accept credit cards), a tasty bed of penne with artichokes (quite a few), garlic, bits of anchovy, tomatoes, black olives, and spices. The sauce they used was sweet, and the olives too. Took no prisoners. Finished the whole thing. Service was good: waiters kept our waters full, took our orders right away, cleared the table without issue, and brought out the check when needed. Glad Mirna's is around. Check them out! read more

I went with a coworker for lunch and we had a chance to sample a few apps, dive into some great specials, and still had time to relax over an espresso once we were done. It is a BYOB which no doubt plays in its favor for dinner. Regarding the comments on the parking lot, 1) I didn't have an issue (and we walked over to PJs when we were done) and 2) how is that Mirna's fault if you did have issues? read more

Just left Mirna's Restaurant. On a Monday at 6:00 pm we were only ones there. The staff basically wanted us to hurry with our meal so they could close and go home. In fact they wanted to give us the check, pay immediately so that they could leave. (we just got our meal and we were far from finished). Basically, I stated a few times that we were not leaving until we finished our meal. We will never go there again. This pressure to leave was relentless!!! I have been to Mirna's Cafe a few times and although it is not my favorite I have no problem going again since it is a great location for coworkers to get together. Big Pros for Mirna's" -Large portions reflective of the higher prices -food has always tasted great -service is friendly and responsive to requests in a reasonable time frame -great location and decent amount of parking -Plenty of food options from both the basic menu and the chef's specials -BYOB - save big bucks! Cons: -They have no wait staff; I've only dined there on weekdays not weekends so you would think it would not be as packed. This place seems to be fairly popular but they do not have enough wait staff to accommodate the size of the restaurant. Although the staff is very friendly it is way too much work on them and you can feel like you are waiting too long for a response. -Food is not exactly how it is described. I've had a few dishes at Mirna's and overall have been happy with my choices. However, the last dish I got was the chef's special Ahi Tuna with risotto. It was definitely NOT risotto. It was basic white rice with some seasoning. Overall the rice still tasted great and if the description said rice instead of risotto there would be no disappointment. But when you expect one thing and get another it is a little awkward. -No all the desserts are made on site so make sure to find out what is fresh/homemade before ordering if you are particular. Overall I will most likely dine at Mirna's again and have no objections. I can see why my coworkers think this is a great after work option with the BYOB and large menu. read more

I was at Mirna's for my brothers birthday. We got there around 7pm and there were only a few tables full. When I looked at the menu and saw advertisements for local business I figured this place wasn't going to be good. This is a Italian restaurant not a diner. The menu was small and the specials paper was huge. I'm not sure what the reason for this was. I ordered the Tuna steak rare with a corn and pepper salsa. My entree came with a salad and we split the Calamari for an appetizer. My salad was average at best. The calamari was the only thing that I thought was worth eating. It was cooked to a nice golden brown. When my meal came out just by the way it was plated I had an idea that it wasn't going to be enjoyable. The Tuna steak was a decent size and it was covered in corn, peppers & onions. The peppers would have been good on an Italian hoagie because they had been soaking in red wine vinegar. It was cooked rare but was so chewy i can only guess it was frozen. I had asked the waiter and he recommended it. I usually will give a restaurant a 2nd chance. This place is the exception. I will not go here again. With the amount of great places in the area i'm surprised this place is still open. read more

I haven't been to this place since they first opened. I don't remember much about that experience. I had been running all day and hadn't eaten a decent breakfast and no lunch. I was headed to Anthony's in Blue Bell, where I frequently enjoy salads for lunch. I don't know what possessed me, but I decided to check out Mirna's. I was in the mood for more than salad but not pizza. The atmosphere and the people there were not welcoming at all. Unfortunately, the food wasn't much better. The bread was good. I ordered the crab bisque and it was very salty with no chunks of crab at all for $8.50. For my meal I decided on the shrimp and cappellini with white sauce. It was a choice of white or red. The description said it was a garlic wine sauce with parsley. The positive is that the shrimp was cooked properly. Unfortunately the dish was flavorless. The "sauce" was a liquid resembling dirty dishwater (see photo) with no discernible wine or garlic flavor and, importantly, it did not coat the pasta so the pasta was bland. This server showed no interest at all in knowing why I didn't eat or why I didn't take home the leftovers. $35 for Half a bowl of bisque, a few pieces of bread and 4 shrimp. Live and learn. Should have gone to Anthony's, where they are always welcoming and the food is consistently good. read more

This is my absolute favorite restaurant! The menu is extensive and appeals to all tastes. For starters the Caesar salad is out of this world. Another great starter is the Mediterranean Combo of hummus, grilled vegetables, feta cheese and eggplant paste otherwise known as baba ghanoush. For entrees I especially like to order salmon. Tonight I ordered it and it was served over creamy risotto. It was pure heaven, best thing I ever ate! I also enjoy the Chicken Zingara which is boneless chicken served with black olives in fresh plum tomato sauce. I have always had a great meal here, lunch or dinner. Portions are large and it's a BYOB. Service is outstanding with an attentive staff. This restaurant was named in top 10 Best in Montgomery County for a reason because it is the BEST!! read more

Went during Covid and it was excellent all around. Had the mediterranean platter, calamari, pasta asparigi and pasta siciliano and it was all delicious. Plenty of veg/can be made vegan options too. Complimentary bruschetta was very good and a nice extra touch. They also added a candle to the dessert for my friend's birthday. Can't beat the BYOB aspect either. Quick efficient service. My mom has been enjoying lunch time salads from Mirna's and was eager to try their dinner menu. We showed up at 530 on a Sunday evening. Service 1) Like other reviewers have mentioned Mirna's was completely empty. They didn't have any music playing. 2) Their waitstaff doesn't introduce themselves or talk about the menu. They will chill your wine but they don't offer to pour it. 3) when the waitress asked if I needed a box or if I was still working on my meal, I simply said I was done. I'm not one to complain in restaurants. I usually just make a mental note not to come back. The waitress wanted an answer as to why I didn't finish my meal. She then fought with the manager about why I hadn't eaten my dinner. I was incredibly uncomfortable. They were both shouting loud enough for the entire dining room to hear. Then she came to my table again to ask why. Again I wanted to be very clear I just wanted to pay and leave. They then went in the back to audibly fight again. They ended up taking my meal off the bill. I was relieved to leave. They didn't even ask my Mom if she liked her meal that she hardly touched. Food 1) I ordered the Capellini with shrimp in a white sauce. 20$My mom chose the Chilean Sea Bass.29$ 2) My Capellini showed up floating in water. It looked like soup. At first I thought they brought out the wrong dish. It tasted like unseasoned dish water. When I think of a white sauce I think of a roux , white wine, Parmesan,olive oil based or cream based. I found out later it was clam juice. This was not mentioned on the menu. It was odd. It was very clear it wasn't seasoned at all... not even the pasta water it was cooked in. I tasted 1 shrimp it was unseasoned and tough. I'm not a picky eater. However, I couldn't finish the meal. 3) My moms Chilean sea bass was unseasoned as well and required a knife to cut it. I'm writing this review as I eat my leftovers, and there are always leftovers! Mirna's is absolutely one of my favorite local restaurants! I would describe the atmosphere as comfortable Mediterranean romantic. I always feel like we are their most important customer ( no, they don't know me), the staff are amazing friendly and attentive. But the best part? The food is always phenomenal! It's cozy with unique flavors, everything is very fresh and cooked to perfection. We have been there about 5 or 6 times in the last 10 months and my fiance always knows if we need a place to go for dinner Mirna's is my favorite! I highly recommend all Mirna's specials, like Mirnas Shrimp. Mirnas pasta, Mirna's special dishes (so many I cannot even remember)etc etc on the menu. read more

This place is an excellent backup backup BYOB spot. Neither trendy nor authentic, it's more like trying to be designed but not quite making it. Food is similar: very tasty, HUGE portions, lacks both soul and cutting-edge flavor. I thought the service was acceptable and fairly quick. Had our rehearsal dinner there last week. We were told they would do a gluten free meal for us (my nephew and sister have Celiacs). We got there and the nasty waitress just shrugged her shoulders and said "we don't do that." At least be polite and apologize. She was literally so rude the entire night. The rest of the wait staff were ok. It was suppose to be a happy event and we had 40 people there so they were making good money. The food was ehh. Risotto is just rice, not risotto. I am rating this place highly because of a special event that I held there. I was recently married at Normandy Farm, so we held our rehearsal dinner at Mirna's (which is conveniently located just down the road). The cost was completely reasonable and the food was great. We had about 35 people and they set the semi-private seating area to accommodate our group. We had a selection of three apps, salad, a choice of five entrees (that we chose during our meeting with the manager prior to our event), and carrot cake for dessert (I have no idea where they got it or if they made it themselves, but honestly, the best carrot cake ever). We brought our own wine (which the servers kept flowing) and everyone had a great time! Also want to say that the service there is always great and that we enjoy going there from time to time for a night out. Definitely worth checking out. The outdoor seating in the summer is nice, too (while it's just on the sidewalk next to the restaurant and parking lot, al fresco dining is hard to come by in the area). read more

I've been eating here for the past 10 years, about once a month. My parents were regulars when we lived in the area and the manager and staff definitely showed their appreciation. The ambiance is great. We reserved the one part of the restaurant for my sister's rehearsal dinner last year. Food was spectacular. I've never had a bad meal from here; it's always hot, and cooked to the exact specification you order. They are heavy handed on the garlic and seasonings (you will find slices of cloves in a pasta dish), but that's one of the things I love about it. The service is fast and simple. They don't engage in a lot of chit chat and are pretty straight forward in running the operation of the FOH. My favorites are any pasta dish, the salmon, the grilled calamari is amazing, Mirna's soup, and the seafood caesar salad. Make sure you call ahead on a weekend night. We've walked in many times in the past, but this past weekend we called ahead and still had to wait 15min. Very good place- I've brought many friends here over the years. read more
