I tried this place for the first time this week, but I was underwhelmed. This place is like Chipotle, but for Halal food. I got the bowl with Gyro meat and a few toppings. The place was clean for sure, but here's what fell short: The food was SO BLAND. The meat, rice, and sauce had little to no flavor. I was expecting a lot more! There were so few toppings to choose from. I had to add feta cheese and Kalamata olives at home. The rice was an alarming bright orange color. I'm sure that's normal for this type of place, but it was unexpected. The price was a bit high, but the portion was decent. I loved the fluffy pita bread, but was offered no hummus, so I had to add that on at home. Will I come again? Probably not. So sad that this wasn't better! read more

I was excited to know this place opened up, i normally go to KOP one but willow grove is close to me, i missed grand opening but today i could go since it was on the way to my place from work I had such a high hopes since this place is new I ordered regular platter with chicken Chicken was disappointingly dry and hard Looked like almost running out of it They should have kept it more moist, fresh and warm. Happy to see a new place open up, there was a lot of hype around this place so I wanted to try it out. Food was good but service is lacking - I asked for light on the white sauce and my sandwich was drowning in it. My husband enjoyed his platter, but both of us agree that a competitor close by has better food and variety. read more

Do we love Mediterranean food? Yes we do! Were we happy to get a chance to try The Halal Guys? Yes we were! Are we ever going back? No we're not! We each had the chicken platter. Very plentiful. Rice was ok, salad stuff was fine, sauces were adequate once I had to get up to request them (service was a bit dim, the server seemed unaware of what came with the meal and how to prepare it). Oddly, our meals were served with a side order of small, brown, doorstops. This was terribly confusing until we realized they were the side order of falafel. The tahini might have given us a clue but it was served without that sauce as well. I hope they felt no pain while they were cooked into oblivion. So, all was unimpressive but ok. But the chicken? I'd have been happier eating my own toes. Slimy, undercooked dark meat, chopped by a madman who keeps skin, bones, and whatever else got hit by the cleaver in there. Authentic, perhaps, for a street vendor in the Middle East but not acceptable here. If this is what you like and prefer, and it may well be, then you have a source of quick eats that is not burgers and fries. Good for you. We'll stay away, thank you. I've been going to the Halal Guys since they just had the food cart in NYC and I'm all too happy to see they've become a chain and are now more easily accessible! Unfortunately, our first experience at The Halal Guys was incredibly disappointing and will be our very last. We had high expectations, but the food fell far short. The chicken platter and sandwich we ordered lacked freshness, and the hummus had a rancid, vinegary taste. We eat a lot of hummus and have never tasted anything like this. Something was definitely wrong with it. My husband felt ill after just a few bites of his meal due to a strange, off-putting flavor and odor. We ended up discarding everything and were extremely disappointed (and hungry). If it wasn't such a hassle to drive back and return it all, we would have. It was a waste of money and a truly unpleasant experience. The only good part was the gentleman who helped us with our order--he was very cheerful and helpful. read more

Ten out of ten highly recommend. The food is delicious on a whole other level. I'm low key obsessed now with this place. I literally took my first bite and paused. Finally got to try this location of Halal Guys. I thought the food was tasty and the staff was nice. I ordered takeout and everything was ready on time and packed up very nicely. I was impressed with their baba ghanoush and falafel and loved the rice. I'll def keep it on rotation for my takeout options. read more

First time trying this place. Dont eat here. Was assaulted by the blaring music walking in. Ordered a gyro and the person making it, round glasses dark-haired, had to repeat everything as I couldn't hear her. Had to shout my answers back. Noticed she was also wearing earbuds. Shouted to tell her not to put too much white sauce on the sandwich and had to shout again for her to stop as she drowned the sandwich with it. Got to the checker and couldn't hear her either so asked her to turn down the music. She did. Only reason I give them any stars is to post the review. Not recommended and will never return. read more
