I'm all for supporting local businesses but when you don't receive an order from a restaurant that's not great business. We ordered on DoorDash for pickup around 3 p.m. on a Thursday. Says the place was opened online and on DoorDash. We were busy running errands so we assumed the order was already made by the time we arrived. The order was still being "prepared" per DoorDash, not a good sign. We tried to enter and the door was locked but the open sign was on. Called to see if our order was ready, no answer. I was hoping to find a go-to Greek spot in the area, but this was a catastrophic disappointment. I expect some grease when ordering a gyro, but these we're excessively greasy almost to the point of being unappetizing. There was a layer of oil/butter on top of the hummus appetizer which was just weird. Very expensive for the area and quality of the food. Service was less than expected - employee acted like it was inconvenient for him to ring out my order. Although my food was ready, I was told to wait for 8 minutes while he spoke to another employee and took a phone order. The restaurant itself is depressing. Zorbas is located in Hatfield near Unionville Pike on 309. I have eaten here many times and was there on Tuesday 03.05.19. There are lots of great options on the menu, but because it is so good I always get the gyro sandwich with fries. One thing I noticed this visit is they have outside dining which I will keep in mind for when the weather turns warmer. read more

Excellent Greek food! I know 50 excellent Italian restaurants, 50 great steak houses and only 2 great great Greek restaurants. They are a tie. I have a friend who works near Zorbas and we eat there every time I'm in town. We love the Humas and pita bread, I get the Eggplant vegetable pita wrap with the French fries which is delicious. He varies what he gets abs they are all fantastic and fresh. If Zorbas was near where I live I'd eat there 2 - 3 times a week! read more

Probably some of the worst Greek food we've ever had. The falafel was flat, DRY and had no flavor. My husband got the Moussaka, which had no cinnamon and the potatoes were on the side. I got a side of hummus to try it and it was DRENCHED in oil... and, of course, lacked flavor. Where are the spices? You all need a trip to Flavor Town. I got a salad with chicken and guess what? The chicken was dry and the salad was mostly a head of lettuce. Oh, the poor tzatziki... lacked flavor, looked like it was full of fat and just not good. We have been wanting to try this place for so long and I'm kind of glad we wasted it on lunch. Huge waste of money but we got it out of our system. A little off putting from the outside... But an adorable small cafe style dining room on the inside. This place should be on the Main Street in Skippack or Lansdale and it would be much more approachable. It's a BYOB worthy of a casual weeknight out. We were brought a yummy plate of pita bread and an olive tapenade alongside our Pinot Grigio. Then for our appetizer... The saganaki flambé. Delicious pan fried cheese with a cognac flambé. I recommend squeezing a fresh lemon wedge over the cheese for that extra oomph. Lastly our entrees... Falafel with tsaziki and lemon potatoes were yummy... While my boyfriend had the mosxari stamrias. A slow roasted type beef over orzo and tomato sauce. We were thoroughly impressed by this unassuming place off of busy 309. Many Greeks own diners, and I've often found that the best food on the menu at a Greek owned diner is...the Greek food! I learned to love gyros and slouvaki and moussaka at diners, so I'm always excited to find a stand-alone Greek restaurant that extends/expounds upon that food base. Zorba's is just such a place. The atmosphere is pleasant. It's typical Greek, lots of blue and white, and comfortable and bright. It's only a few weeks before Christmas, and even though we made a reservation my wife and I didn't need it. Plenty of available tables. Not a big crowd...they were probably at Chili's or Applebee's. Too bad for them. We started with some falafel and house-made tzaziki, crispy, hot and delicious. Not fat balls but flattened, which means more crispy surface to enjoy. I had the mixed meat entree, which had chicken, lamb, pork, and beef. I was feeling carnivorous and this pile of meat, pita, and a nice side salad with plenty of feta was a winner. Lemon potatoes on the side were awesome, and while there were only 3 wedges it was plenty given the mountain of meat I got, all cooked perfectly. I especially liked the crispy slices of lamb gyro. My wife had a classic chicken gyro, which was really tasty. It came with a side of Greek-seasoned French fries. We finished with a healthy wedge of the house-made baklava and I had a Greek coffee...so strong and sweet it was a dessert all on its own. I love Turkish and Cuban coffee, and now I'm adding a hot shot of the Greeks stuff to my home brewing lineup. Just remember not to suck down the thick grounds at the bottom of the cup...I spotted them just in time. I would definitely come back for more. I'm sure it won't be long until I need another fix of the feta....still need to try the dolmadas, and about 20 other things on the menu I didn't have room for. read more

This is a small Greek place that I stumbled upon via yelp.. I live in the montgomeryville area so food options are either crappy chain joints or crappy fast food so once we found out about this we went immediately. This place is a breath of fresh air to be honest . The food was great, awesome and fresh. Nothing frozen or canned. All Made basically in front of you , cooked to order. The calamari were awesome. Crispy yet tender .The mix grill platter can feed an army and was delicious . Overall the food was 5 star worthy, only knocking a point off for OK service .. Wasn't bad ,just not as friendly as one would expect from a mom and pop joint that makes it's living on repeat business . My husband and I arrived at Zorba's around 9:30pm on a Wednesday, they still had the "open" sign flashing outside as well as 1 large party inside the restaurant. When we walked in, we made eye contact with the hostess/waitress and she kind of just stared at us and didn't greet us nor welcome us in so my husband decided to ask her if they were still open and she nodded and finally told us we could sit where ever. It also took quite a bit of time for the waitress to come around and take our drink order as well as our food order. I ended up getting the pork souvlaki pita sandwich which comes with greek fries and my husband ordered the lamb gyro platter and that came with a greek salad and lemon potatoes. The food arrived pretty quickly and everything was alright. The lemon potatoes definitely left something to be desired. Overall, I wasn't exactly pleased with the customer service and the food wasn't as fresh or as comparable as to some of the Greek/Mediterranean around Lansdale/Hatfield. Maybe we came here on an off night, who knows...but so far I think there's definitely better options for Greek than Opa in the immediate area. read more

I liked this restaurant a lot! They had our table reserved for us even though we were 15 minutes late. The service was perfect, we never felt abandoned or intruded upon. The olives, olive paste, and gigante beans were all delicious to start. The mousaka was awesome! It really hit the spot. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well (fish, lamb chops.) I'm not a Greek food expert. I've probably only been to two Greek restaurants and maybe several street food stalls. I do love all of the Mediterranean foods. I drive by this place every day and have never been. I had a hankering for lamb so I stopped by for dinner last night. It was late, so they ran out of lamb. I started with the grilled halloumi cheese which was great. Instead of lamb, I had the pork souvlaki platter. The pork was tender. The pita fresh and warm. But this was one of my favorite tzatziki sauces ever! Next time, I will call ahead and order the lamb. The place is casual and my server was very friendly and attentive. I'll be back. read more

The flavors were very good but we were super disappointed in how incredibly soggy the spanikopita was and how tough the phyllo was making it truly impossible to cut. The dolmas were mush. The rice was so overcooked we could barely tell they were once grains instead of the paste we were eating. We think it was just a matter of everything being overcooked or reheated too often. Let me say this: I love Greek food. Greektown in Detroit and Baltimore are my favorite and Black Olive in SJ plus the festivals. So when I saw this near work travel I had to try it. I had chicken soup, taramsalada, and moussaka with lemon potatoes. The soup was delicious! The pita and dip was great. My moussaka was not hot enough throughout, microwaved maybe? My lemon potatoes were just ok. The service from my waitress was superb! A lady who I assume was with the chef, owner or manager came out to ask every table how everything was, except she avoided my table on two occasions and it wasn't busy in there. Checked this place out on the high recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint !! Went with 2 of my oldest friends who are foodies like me. We ordered "tapas style" because there were way too many interesting items on the menu. Loved the sampler plate that had eggplant spread and a variety of other greek cheeses. The keftedes were fantastic. The avgolemeno soup was just the right combo of lemon and chicken and creamy goodness. Pita bread came with many dishes and was warm and fluffy. Portions were HUGE ! what a great find! not going to lie, i was a bit skeptical about this place (despite all of the rave reviews) since it was tucked into a strip mall on 309. everything - from the service to the food - was excellent. our server was incredibly nice and thoughtful, although she didn't speak english that well. I'm avoiding gluten and when I asked her about whether there was any gluten in the dishes, she didn't understand what I meant. but after some discussion, we were able to translate and she understood. the food was all extremely fresh and delicious. as soon as we sat down, we were delivered a beautiful platter that contained cucumbers, tomatoes, pita bread, and an olive tampanade dip. we ordered the Greek sausage to start - it was good, but not sure if I would order it again. it was a bit $$ for the amount of food that you got. for our entrees, we had the lamb souvlaki platter, the beef & lamb gyro platter, and a greek pasta dish. we requested the lamb kabob to be cooked med rare, and it came out perfectly cooked. the gyro platter was excellent as well. i got a TON of gyro meat! oh the tzatziki was the BEST i have ever had. i dont know what it was, but you could tell it was freshly made and homemade! i could just eat that stuff by the spoonful. they ended up bringing out three complementary desserts as well. since I can't have gluten, they brought me out greek yogurt, topped with honey and chopped nuts. it was homemade and really, really good! way better than anything i've had in the store. i would definitely come back to this restaurant - you get great quality food & service for a very reasonable price. oh yeah - its a BYO as well, so bring along your own beer, wine, etc.! read more

Vegetarian Review I wanted to like this place, but it fell way short. I ordered a bunch of different vegetarian items from the menu for take out. Nothing seemed really fresh.
