I am hesitant to even write this review as it is still a lesser known "gem". Hidden gem in plain sight? It's got parking. It's in Doylestown. It's got a hard working Greek family (Eleni et. al.) running to show. And best of all - it's got GREAT Yia-Yia approved real-deal greek food. Fluffy, warm, fresh pita. Delicious Gyro Meat (This ain't Kronos!! - Or if it is you have me fooled.) Some of the best Dolamades (stuff grape leaves) in the Delaware valley. I wanted to go right back to Mykonos after eating here. WOW! Oh - please don't raise the prices. SO reasonable. BYOB. What a find! I will be back - and maybe in a few days! This is a great little BYOB on the way to the center of Doylestown. The food was delicious. We visited Greece lat September and this took us right back. My wife had the lamb slouvaki and I went with the lamb chops. Both were outstanding. We shared a piece of the Greek orange cake for dessert. It was better than the orange cake we had in Greece. We came in a couple days after they just opened and luckily found a seat (they were very busy). First impression: very clean. Attentive employees. Sam was a hit! He is adorable and in my opinion had the best customer service. He was cleaning tables as people were getting up. He was checking in with everyone making sure they were OK and if they needed anything else. Great kid! His grandfather is the owner of this establishment and owned the former Hot Spot that was located in the Ferry Market. This place is definitely a better space, obviously bigger restaurant solely for them. I did notice it was a BYOB. The couples next to us had a few bottles. You come in, place your order at the register if you are staying you get a number and put it on your table. I will say it was very busy thus delaying things a bit and as I mentioned very new so obviously I am taking that into account. As far as the food, delicious. I do wish however my steak kebab was a little more medium well, it was a bit too medium rare for me. It wasn't asked either how we preferred to be cooked. Next time I will make sure to mention this. The tzatziki was good. Rice pudding was good I do wish it was a bit thicker but still good. OPA is a welcomed addition to the beautiful Doylestown and we will come back very soon to try more. read more

Nice addition to Doylestown. Authentic Greek food. Started with the mixed dip platter - dips were very good. Disappointed to only get 1 grape leaf when it's clearly a sharing platter. And if you want more pita bread you will have to pay for it. Gyro was good but lacking a fresh aspect without lettuce but they didn't skimp on the meat. OPA Grille is a new place in South Doylestown that specializes in Greek food. I have ordered from them twice and enjoyed both meals. My go to is the chicken souvlaki platter. The chicken is prepared really well and it comes with a delightful tzatziki sauce. I went with the French fries that were also prepared well. The one reason I didn't give them a 5 rating is on my last order they left out the side Greek salad. I enjoy their Greek salad so I hope this was a one off mistake. I've also tried their spanakopita, hummus, pita, and Greek salad with chicken. All were very good. Looking forward to returning. read more

Went here on a Saturday for lunch with my boyfriend and boy was it busy! We were greeted immediately as we walked in the door and were handed menus and told to choose any table and to come up to the counter to when we were ready to place our order. We ended up ordering stuffed grape leaves, hummus with pita (the pita is an extra charge), traditional gyro and chicken souvlaki. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious! My chicken souvlaki was covered in the most delicious tzatziki sauce and rolled in a fresh warm pita. My boyfriend also enjoyed his gyro. The hummus was very good and the grape leaves were equally as delicious. The staff was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Would definitely like to come by again for some more tasty Greek cuisine! read more

Some of the best Greek food we have had here in Pennsylvania (anywhere else, for that matter). Fresh is the order of the day - the tzatziki sauce is obviously homemade and that is just where the goodness gets started! I had the Greek Combo that had both gyro and pork souvlaki - the best I have ever had. My dining partner had the moussaka which she also professed to be outstanding. The restaurant was squeaky clean (rest rooms too!) and the service both friendly and efficient. If you don't give this place a try you're really missing out! read more

It was my first visit to OPA Grille and I did takeout. I called my order in over the phone and the girl who took my order was very pleasant. Said it would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and my dinner was ready for pickup. I ordered the beef kabob dinner with just onions as I'm not crazy about green peppers or tomatoes. I wasn't sure what to expect thinking maybe I would get one of those kebob sticks with little chunks of beef. Instead it was a takeout box with large chunks of perfectly cooked chunks of beef with absolutely delicious rice and a good portion of cooked onions. This dish was outstanding. On top there was a large round piece of homemade pita bread the size of a large pancake. I reheated it in my microwave and put butter on top. Also, in my takeout bag was an extra box which was a nice sized Greek salad. I didn't even realize that diners include a full salad. It was not skimpy. This Beef Kabob dinner was a very reasonable $18.50. So I'm happy to report that OPA Grille hit all the right buttons. We started with the tzatziki, which was really good, flavorful, with perfect amount of garlic and sour cream cucumber ratio. The pita that came with was dense, chewy and warm. My salad with gyro meat was good, but it seemed like there was no salad dressing on the lettuce. Maybe they don't serve it with dressing or it was an oversight? Not what I'm used to. My dining partner had a pork souvlaki sandwich which was very good. The beverage selection was not great. I asked for an unsweetened ice tea and was offered bottled tea. When I declined the waitress offered mint tea, which I wrongly assumed to be fresh and sugar free. The bottled tea was not good and I wished I'd asked for water only. Service was nice, but minimal really. Otherwise, all in all, pretty good. I would go back. read more

The nice woman happily called my name and I picked up my food to head out. Thoughts of light flakey pastry and rich feta spinach Spanakopita spinning in my brain. However........ Greasy (dripping with grease, not butter) Spanakopita. Then, disgusting gristly steamed darkmeat chicken on a stale pita soaked in a sauce that had maybe a hint of tzatziki, but sloppy and more mayonnaisey taste, not the Souvlaki I knew.' Went to this place because we are greek, and love good greek food. The place just opened a week ago and we have been eager to try - knowing it was coming to the area. It is a small byob place. No fountain soda only bottles. No water for the table. I thought it was odd you ordered at the counter and they bring it to you. Friendly service is spot on, and food is good but very very small portions for the money. I can not say enough how nice the people are but... that will not hold an establishment. Went at 6:30 and they brought my meal out about 10 minutes faster then my husbands. First dislike - When they brought him his food they brought him french fries which he didn't order, he asked for rice. They ran out. He asked for lemon potatoes instead of the fries. They ran out of them as well. He was rather annoyed because they just brought fries out. Not everyone wants fries! Ok moving on... Food was good but very basic presentation. They give you plastic cups to drink from. It's very clean but a young woman who works there is carrying an infant around serving food. Not very hygienic! It is good, but I don't think we will be back any time soon. They have a lot of kinks to work out, especially making sure they do not substitute food without asking. OPA Grille is a no frills restaurant. Basic tables and chairs. You order at the counter and once you pay, they hand you a number which you place on your table. They don't offer free water which I found strange. We ordered basic items - shrimp kabob and a Greek salad w grilled chicken as they had run out of chicken kabob. The taste/flavor wasn't bad but the size of the shrimp and the amount of vegetables (2 pieces of onion, peppers, and tomatoes that were so small, we couldn't find them) was disappointing considering the price. I would imagine if you have chicken for grilled chicken, you could use the same chicken for chicken kabob? Apparently not. My simple Greek salad was good. Not what I'm used to and the fact that my grilled chicken arrived when I was halfway through the salad was another disappointment. What they got right - smiles, politeness, everybody in the family pitching in, and for the most part, the menu. While I'm not likely to go back, if they were to make some basic upgrades, it may increase client base. It's worth a try! read more

Take out service was timely and our food was very good. We ordered gyro sandwiches, a gyro platter and Greek salad. In my experience, take out fries usually arrive home soggy and this side was no exception. Online ordering on the Opa website is through Grubhub and incurred a 24% up charge. I'm very happy to have a Greek restaurant near home. More happy that the food was good. Only got a basic gyro platter, I'd recommend getting some raw onions and tomatoes to accompany.
