We came on Mom's Day weekend eve so ordered a couple items on Special. The crab bruschetta was very good. Mom got the Short Rib over veggie risotto- which was hit out of the park! I got the Tilefish which was tender but the wine sauce, bellas and artichoke hearts overpowered the dish. Our usual mussels in marinara app did not disappoint. It got progressively busy as it does - our server did a good job. The Cafe L. is (still) our go-to Italian.

I see why a fellow Yelper said it could get 'migraine loud' in Lombardi's. The dining room is small and packed with tables, many crammed pretty close. I'd hate to eat there when it's busy! At 2:30, past the lunch rush, we were the only patrons. Our server, a lovely woman who's worked there 21 years (wow!) was attentive and friendly, making for a fun lunch. The food .... well, 3.5 stars. I'm on a Caesar-salad-with-anchovy kick. Lombardi's Caesar is nothing special. They need to experiment with dressings and come up with something better. Eggplant parm was good -- I like when it's thin and a little crisp -- and T enjoyed Chicken Siciliana prepared with peppers, mushrooms and capers. (I'm surprised they don't serve spaghetti with every entree. Really, how much would a commercial supply of pasta cost the restaurant?! Their $4 upcharge is excessive.) We shared dessert, chocolate peanut butter cake -- sort of like a large cupcake --that was mediocre, also excessively priced at $9. What I DID like is that Lombardi's is byob, without a corkage fee. And as I said, lunch was 3.5 stars good, which sometimes is good enough.

So happy I tried this place! My husband and I have been dying to try this place! But we never had the opportunity until recently. The parking lot is little small but they do offer overflow parking in the back which is nice. We made reservation for dinner and when we got there, we got sat right away. We were supper hungry so we ordered 1 appetizers and 3 entree but everything sounded super good! Their portion sizes are huge and they're a BYOB which is a plus! The only thing negative experience about this place was that the utensils was dirty so we had to get new ones. But overall we had a great time!

Another double date with our foodie friend's pick…read more And wow what a pick! A beautifully decorated (both outside and inside) quaint restaurant, with a visible pizza oven. We shared a literally beautiful antipasto for an appetizer. It boasted fresh mozzarella balls, eggplant, artichokes, sweet red peppers, prosciutto, and olives. We had a good and soft loaf of bread with a yummy olive oil and balsamic dip too. Our meals were ALL tremendous! We had pasta dishes - gnocchi marsala and fettuccine with clams - EXCELLENT! I had plenty of sauce left to dip the soft bread into :) The other couple had octopus (appetizer) and seafood atop squid ink pappardelle pasta. They loved their dishes as well. Of course we didn't have room for dessert, but our chocolate wine and other wines were definitely sufficient. BYOB's are great and money saving. This place is a bit of a haul but I hope to get back in the future !

They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!

I like restaurants that allow you to see the food being prepped. No hanky panky! This is a BYOB and we actually came prepared this time with a really nice red. The menu has many interesting items and the shared appetizers were a good start. The Arancini was very good as was the Special Grilled Octopus in a Hummus Salad. There were 4 of us and we all felt that the entrees were good but didn't rise to what our expectations were, based on other reviews. The Lobster Gnocchi was good but seemed to be missing the lobster. The best part of the Scallop Risotto was the perfectly seared Scallops but the risotto itself was just ok. The Fiochi di Pere was good but overall didn't have all that much flavor. The Chicken Parmigiana was a very generous portion of chicken and pasta but the Italian seasoning was almost overpowering. I don't like writing reviews like this but like I said, we're in the minority review-wise on this one. Give it a try. Our experience just wasn't as good as what we expected.

The food is consistently outstanding, the portions are incredibly generous, and everything tastes truly homemade and made with care. A huge shoutout to Sergio, the owner and chef, for always creating such an amazing experience. You can tell he takes real pride in every plate that comes out, and his table-side conversations and funny stories make the atmosphere even better. Mirna, Sergio's wife and also an incredible chef, deserves major recognition as well the passion and quality they bring to this restaurant shows in every detail. The service is always top-tier. Savannah is absolutely amazing she always takes such great care of us and makes every visit smooth, welcoming, and enjoyable. Don is also wonderful and professional, and the whole team makes you feel like a valued guest from the moment you arrive. We've come here for everything birthdays, date nights, and even after-work dinners and it never disappoints. And the homemade ice cream is the perfect finish every time.
