Cute local restaurant in Ambler. I got the spaghetti and clams in white sauce. The noodles were perfectly al dente and the clams were nice and chewy. Personally, I thought the sauce was way too salty and more of the consistency of soup. It does come with a choice of salad (caesar salad or house) or soup (chicken noodle, French onion, and I think there's one more option). I got the Caesar and thought it was pretty good, I really enjoyed the dressing! The French onion soup also exceeded expectations. It was well seasoned and very cheesy. Overall, the food is decent/standard but a good deal! The restaurant has plenty of outdoor seating with string lights to enjoy the warm weather. The inside is a little more dim and has a classy tavern vibe. Relatively large restaurant that can probably seat large parties. Service was good and everyone was nice. read more

Worst main course I ever had. Ever. Anywhere. Chicken piccata was so bad. Full of salt and the meat was so tough. When you hear someone e say it's like leather, this is what they're talking about--although I don't think I ever thought about it regarding chicken. I had about 3 bites and could not eat any more of it. Incredibly disappointing. My dining companions' meals were fine, just fine--nothing that stands out, though. We had a good server. Disappointing dinner for 4. Our waitress Michelle was friendly at first and got our food orders right. But when food came out, the cheesesteak without roll that I ordered was very little meat, like only half a cheesesteak. The gnocchi was under done and doughy like they didn't wait for it to float. Flavor was flat. Then when Bill came we were charged $91 for the 2 gnocchi dinners. The waitress's response was Well gnocchi costs more. The menu said $19 each for gnocchi with gorganzola sauce and we asked for it with marinara sauce. We were given a second bill that showed two pasta dishes at $15 each and 2 "open food" at $6 each. I ordered out a tuna platter, eggplant parm sandwich and fries. I'm sorry to say that none were tasty! Fries were dry, eggplant parm sandwich had no taste, the tuna had too much mayo, while nothing stood out in the salad, which was mostly iceberg lettuce. So decided to stop in on our Friday night for what usually is a great dinner but tonight was far from it! Was very disappointed in all aspects of our dinner. I know it's not a 4 Star restaurant and a pizza joint but I'm not sure they wouldn't say it's much more? It wasn't tonight! It was terrible! I'll write this one off but really? 3 people without drinks was $75 and the chicken marsala was a joke! It was cold and my daughter wouldn't send it back! Our stromboli was skimpy for over $20 dollars! There was nothing in it? It was flat and undercooked? Usually it is golden brown and bubbly and great! It sucked! And they forgot our bread? The salad was lame! It looked like they found the vegetables in the trash? Honestly! They should be ashamed...If I haven't been here numerous times lately and it's been good, I wouldn't come back! That's how lousy it was and what gets me the most is they come over and ask after..."How was everything?" What are you going to say? I ordered chicken piccata. The chicken was white, stringy and look like two large pieces of chicken roll from jelly. It was chased us. The texture was very weird. The pastor was cooked perfectly. The piccata sauce was watery and only tasted of lemon. My husband's pizza was excellent. Our friends chicken. Parm was good, but my meal was horrible. Service was good. read more

Came in to sit at the bar for lunch on a beautiful breezy day. The bartender and waitress working (managing the whole restaurant like a pro) was an absolute delight. She made me a delicious Arnold Palmer and got us chatting with her a bit. Just made you feel welcome! Had mussels and fries with it and they were so fresh. Made a quick stop this weekend in lovely old Ambler, PA, and since it was about lunch time my older daughter and I looked at Yelp for a lunch suggestion. We laughed as it directed us to Guiseppe's Pizza, where we have eaten in the past. In fact, it's right across the street from another of our favorites (when we're in the area!), the Fireside Grille. So we came into Guiseppe's and were greeted by a lovely young lady named Sophia. She took our orders with a smile and was quite pleasant to us throughout our meal. :) I ordered a cheesesteak with grilled onions and mushrooms, along with a side of crunchy delicious onion rings. My daughter ordered a personal pepperoni pizza that looked delicious when it arrived. My steak sandwich was quite good! Just enough "burn" on it to make it extra tasty, and loaded up with cheese, 'shrooms and grilled onions. I really liked the roll too. Sometimes you get a steak sandwich when you go out, that arrives on a very crunchy roll that starts to fall apart as you eat it. Not this one! The roll was warm and soft...yum! I wish I had taken photos at this place but we were in a rush. Sorry! Next time for sure... as surely there WILL be a "next time" when I stop again at the church nearby where I was wed, to place flowers at the headstones of my grandparents, parents and my beloved late husband. Not sure what is happening with this place. The quality of food is subpar. The pizza is soggy and full of droopy cheese. The pasta sauce was watery and flavorless. Our chicken parm entree came out with cold noodles and tasteless chicken. Last time we dine here. The waitresses have no expression on their face. All look like they are annoyed to be there and don't want to be bothered. You're better off to eat across the street at The Fireside Grille. read more

It's been a while since I've eaten here and tried their take out. Ordered a couple pizzas, salads and fries to go. Not terribly impressed and it's not cheap. The pizzas were pretty bland for a pepperoni and a Buffalo chicken pie. And the fries are awful. Little greasy nuggets... crunchy and not good. Salad was ok and their balsamic dressing was quite tasty. Overall though, very disappointing and wont be going back anytime soon. Too many other pizza shops to try! read more

This was a very tasty cheese steak. On the menu it is the Italian chicken cheesesteak. The bartender, without hesitation, said they would make it as a beef cheesesteak. The rest of my visit to Giuseppe's was so bad I will never go back. They were closing at 8 p.m. for a holiday party (I assume their holiday party) so I don't know if people were just excited for the party, didn't care or no managers were there but the service was horrible. I've been going here for years (mostly takeout) and love their chicken caesar wrap and buffalo chicken cheesesteak. Probably the best I've come across in the Ambler area. The food is always hot and the prices are reasonable. We order the plain pizza with thin crust and well done- you can't go wrong with that! read more

Been going there for decades and it's still the best. Yes, I'm in a pleasure-rut: pizza, soup, ravioli. Either takeout or dine-in is great. And it actually has a pretty good bar scene! Also has take-out beer for those of you interested in that. I'd like abundant paper towels in the bathroom but not the end of the world. So let me repeat from my 2108 review: get the pizza. Order too much so you have leftovers. Legendary sauce, cheese, dough. The soup is reasonably-priced and also delicious. So very nice to have "real" soup for a change. Restaurant soup is usually not much better than canned. And the ravioli: perfect little pillows of joy. I weep for the poor fools who order from the chain pizza place right across the street. Why does this only have three stars? Have you tried their cheese pizza? So freaking good. To be fair, I only order a few things but nothing beats their cheese pizza. Their cheese pizza with fries are a good combo: I got their veggie pizza, but it wasn't that worth it. We have loved their pepperoni pizza for YEARS. Our absolutely favorite in Ambler. They also have great chicken entrees and sandwiches. Service in restaurant is fantastic if you go in. Just generally a great neighborhood pizza shop that Ambler folks love. (Better pricing and product than the place across the street!) Definitely recommend. read more

Tried this place instead of Fireside Grille across the street - always crowded there. I ordered a veggie pizza, hubby ordered cheesesteak. Simple, right? Uh, no. My husband asked why I was putting every condiment on the table on my pizza (olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, chili flakes) - answer: No Flavor! Pizza was crust, ricotta cheese topped with broccoli bits, tomatoes & goopy mozzarella. No seasonings. At all. Hubby's cheesesteak was forgotten - order not put In. Disappointing. As we have been traveling and trying to find new places in other states, we came across the most wonderful Italian restaurant. The calamari was fresh and very tender. We had a garden salad with blue cheese dressing and I was given plenty. The main course was fettuccine pescador. On every dish that we were brought had plenty to eat and had beautiful presentation with great flavors. We had so many clams and mussels that it was hard to eat them all. Only kidding, everything was delicious. The wait staff seemed to be there at everyones beck and call. Hopefully when people are in the Philadelphia area take a close look at this restaurant. read more

Unwashed lettuce that was slightly rotten in a salad that took 45 minutes to come out because they forgot to put in the order. Waitress realized that the didn't put the salad in after my wife got her meal, had it for 5 minutes, came to check on us and didn't see a plate in front of me. 3 minutes later I had my salad which is nice...but she lied to me about the reason for teh delay and in their rush, they didn't WASH THE LETTUCE. When the salad came out, I started eating it and something hard was in the salad that I swallowed. It happened again (I was prepared this time) so I fished the hard thing out of my mouth and there was SAND in my salad. Stopped eating and turned over a few pieces of lettuce and found HAIR in my salad also. Waitress lied and said that due to a produce shortage they are getting in an inferior product and that's what caused it when it was clear that they forgot to put the order in, lied about it, and in their rush didn't wash the lettuce before putting it in the salad... By this time, my wife was 3/4 of the way done her meal so I just asked to send it back and take it off of our bill. My dinner was ruined and I was thoroughly grossed out by eating hair, sand and unwashed produce and they didn't offer to comp us any of our drinks and they actually charged us for a refill of club soda. The manager didn't come out to say anything to us or to apologize. Not sure the waitress even told the manager what happened. Sand, Hair and Lies (catchy new name for this place). I don't care how rotten your lettuce is, if you actually wash it, the dirt should wash away. Avoid this place. read more

I've been to Giuseppe's many times; never ordered the Bolognese; I make Bolognese. Giuseppe's is nothing short of homemade delicious; full of meat and vegetables and slow cooked. My wife got the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer (again) which is a full meal. She loves it. The restaurant was remodeled recently and looks great. I've never had anything less than a good meal here. Yeah, it's not going to hold a candle to the Italian joints in South Philly (few places will), but this place is pretty good for the price! I got a beer (happy hour Sunday to Friday from 4-6!) and the house red wine, which was very good. The balsamic they made for the house salad was a showstopper, and the tomatoes were really tasty! I got the chicken tonino - a dish I have never heard of before - which had bacon, provolone, tomatoes, and chicken. It wasn't bad, but also not amazing. I'll probably go with a veal parm next time, which I know is really good! The place seemed kinda understaffed, and several times we waited for a while for more water. Been coming here for years and their pizza used to be the best. For the past year their pizza has not been the same. When you order a pizza you don't know what you are getting. It's very inconsistent. Ordered a large pizza and when we brought it home it looked like a medium pizza. Slices were so small. Not the first time this has happened. Ordered pizzas for a party, and when we opened it up we we were embarrassed of what we received. Called them back and they did give us credit for the pizzas. read more

During Covid-19/Coronavirus Pandemic. Staff NOT wearing masks. Not social distancing. And the counterman actually asking my wife to *remove her mask* in the store. Trying to support local business, but this was not a good situation. Plus, your food was awful. Maybe they can make pizza (that seems to be where the good reviews are), but the pasta was like glue, and the chicken "piccata" was an anemic chicken breast with butter poured over it. no flour, no pan frying, gross. all the food went into the bin.
