    Super Cheesesteak
    Sherie K.

I came to Philly and wanted to try a cheesesteak so I was told I should come to Ambler Pizza! I got the Super Cheesesteak without mushrooms and it was good! As a non-Philly native, I was told (by my friend) that I was ordering wrong and cheesesteaks don't need marinara, but I didn't listen and got one with it anyway. I think my friend was right, although it was good, I like the parts of the sandwich that didn't have the marinara and I dipped it in the whiz instead and it was bomb! Coming from out of state I thought it would be smaller ordering the regular but the regular was still like a foot long and hella meaty, so that was a pleasant surprise! Plenty of food without chips (or for a second meal)! The inside that I saw was small but made it feel like a family vibe, as you can see on the wall it says Family First. All in all, the food came quick, the workers were nice and the place was clean! I'd come back!

Local pizza spot that seems to always be busy with the many delivery cars they have. We tried their cheesesteak and just a plain pizza. Both were average. We also tried 2 of their specialty pizzas (BBQ chicken and Taco pizza) and both were not good at all.

ordered caesar salad with grilled chicken from Ambler Pizza and almost half the lettuce includes was bad. How can the workers make this up seeing that their lettuce is brown and even black in some places?

Right down the street from my house, always delivers whenever I need comfort food. Literally and figuratively. They're the only place that takes cash upon delivery; which as a waiter that's dope. I've been going here for almost over a decade and when people ask me where to get pizza/grub food, first mention.

Personally, I thought the sauce was way too salty and more of the consistency of soup. It does come with a choice of salad (caesar salad or house) or soup (chicken noodle, French onion, and I think there's one more option). I got the Caesar and thought it was pretty good, I really enjoyed the dressing! The French onion soup also exceeded expectations. It was well seasoned and very cheesy. Overall, the food is decent/standard but a good deal! The restaurant has plenty of outdoor seating with string lights to enjoy the warm weather. The inside is a little more dim and has a classy tavern vibe. Relatively large restaurant that can probably seat large parties. Service was good and everyone was nice.

When you hear someone e say it's like leather, this is what they're talking about--although I don't think I ever thought about it regarding chicken. I had about 3 bites and could not eat any more of it. Incredibly disappointing. My dining companions' meals were fine, just fine--nothing that stands out, though. We had a good server. Ambiance was fine. But we came for the food, and we left disappointed. We will not be back.

We decided to see a movie in Ambler and looked for a good restaurant to eat at before the show. We…read moreselected From the Boot, as my partner had eaten there before and she said it was good. We started with bread and garlic knots. The bread was okay, but the garlic knots were great! I hadn't had them in quite awhile, and was very pleased with the taste and texture. Next up, the meatballs! I'm a meatball guy, and was quickly disappointed with the texture and flavor of the meatballs. They were small and not that tender. I tried a different meatball to see if it was similar, the texture was different and very grainy, to the point I couldn't eat it! I hadn't no idea why the texture was so 'grainy'. I would like to point out the marinara was delicious. We left the remaining meatballs, and mentioned it to our server - the Manager came over and was very understanding. We weren't charged for the meatballs. The next appetizer we ordered was the Eggplant Rollatini. It's is a simplistic creamy classic Italian-American dish. Thinly sliced eggplant rolled around ricotta cheese, then baked in a rich tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese. It was a good appetizer as I mentioned before, in a great marinara. We shared the Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti for our entree. It turned out to be the star of the meal! It was a perfectly crispy golden brown chicken cutlet, with marinara and bubbly mozzarella cheese. The cutlet was tender and juicy, covered with the same wonderful marinara. While we were a little apprehensive after the meatballs, the rest of meal was very good and From the Boot will be worth a revisit.

Extremely disappointing and concerning experience…read more We had an 8:00 p.m. reservation on August 7 for a child's birthday celebration for a party of four. We were seated at 8:02 p.m. and then completely ignored. For the next 20 minutes, no one came to our table--not even to offer water or acknowledge us. We eventually had to stop another server, who told us someone would be right with us. We waited another 10 minutes, and the server assigned to our table never came to our table during the entire 30 minutes we were there. What was particularly troubling was watching that same server immediately attend to the guests seated behind us, who had been seated approximately 15 minutes after we arrived. This was not a situation where the staff was overwhelmed or the restaurant was unusually busy. Our table was simply overlooked while guests who arrived later received attention. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to acknowledge the fact that we had been sitting there unattended. Given the stark difference in how our table was treated compared with guests who arrived after us, I left feeling that racial discrimination may have played a role in how we were treated. I cannot know the server's intentions, but the circumstances and disparity in treatment were extremely concerning. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for a child. Instead, we left after 30 minutes without receiving basic service. That is unacceptable. I am sharing this review so other customers can make an informed decision, particularly those planning a special occasion. I also hope management takes this seriously and looks into what happened that evening. Customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of who they are.

I am not disqualifying their experience but it is very odd it was so different. It was a hot, humid, rainy Saturday and the A/C was just fine when we got in. I will admit my first view through the door was a little hesitant but push on in and it was fine. The design goes for a comfy industrial setting. They have a good selection of beer and cocktails using a lot of local producers so there is a wonderful chance for you to find what you want to drink. The prices on the menu looked a little steep but the servings were generous and the food was very good. I had the best wings I've had in a long time with a nice crispness to the skin. My wife and I had a good time and found it lots of fun. If I was going to suggest a change it would be some sort of uniform for the servers. Hypsters in comfortable clothing fine but the issue is they blend in with some of the customers. I was talking to one guy thinking he was a server. We had looked online and found a restaurant that featured burgers. We were walking to it when we passed Cantina Feliz. It was busy (which I interpreted to be a good sign) and looked very inviting. We decided to change plans and try this Mexican restaurant instead! Of course I always start a meal at a Mexican restaurant with the guacamole. Our server recommended the Esquites Guacamole, which has grilled corn, lime aioli and a sprinkling of queso fresco (traditional Mexican cheese). It was one of the tastiest guacamole dishes I've ever had!! The grilled corn added such dimension and flavor - and the chips were warm - I think that was the first time I had warm chips - it made it extra special! For our entrees, we ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos and the Steak Fajita Tacos. The Grilled Shrimp tacos were excellent - large tender shrimp, with a corn salsa, avocado, peppers and a chipotle sauce on the side. I added a little of the Esquites Guacamole and enhanced the flavor even more! Next up, the Steak Fajitas. As soon as I had my first bite, I was disappointed....the steak was so tough and rubbery, there were pieces I couldn't swallow. We told the server and he said he would speak to the manager. They agreed to take the fajitas back and remove them from our bill. Our server was great. While it was unfortunate the steak fajitas were not good, it didn't diminish the fact we thoroughly enjoyed the other two dishes. We will definitely return to Cantina Feliz - however, we'll pass on the Steak Fajitas.
