I was really hoping to find our go-to pizza shop here because it got fairly high ratings. It was not to be. My husband got a small plain pizza and I got a chicken gyro & Italian wedding soup. My husband said the pizza was okay but that's all I could get out of him. I asked how the crust was and he said okay. I asked about the sauce and he said it was okay. I asked him if it lacked salt and he said no. The only thing he would say beyond that was that the pizza we make is much better. We perfected our recipe during the pandemic and it is pretty killer. He saved his leftover slices so I tasted the one that was left in the box and I thought the sauce was too sweet. I personally did not care for the overall flavor of the crust or the sauce. The garlic knots that came with the soup were dry and tough. The soup itself was very bland, lacked salt, and had a layer of grease on top. There were exactly TWO tiny meatballs in the soup and they tasted like unseasoned ground beef. The wedding soup I make (I use Rao's recipe) is far superior, but I don't always feel like making my own. It would be nice to be able to buy a good soup, but this was not it. I took two bites and threw the rest away. The fries with the chicken gyro also lacked salt! The bread for the gyro was very good and the chicken strips were good and PLENTY but they also lacked salt. lol I hate overly salted food but I have to assume that whoever cooks here doesn't understand the nuances of using salt. The sandwich had very little tzatziki sauce so it tasted dry. It seems ridiculous to complain about too much chicken, but the abundance of chicken didn't help the quality of the sandwich; it made it harder to eat because the chicken kept falling out of the sandwich. I finally deconstructed the sandwich but it needed less chicken, more sauce, and some salt. I'm glad we tried Luigi's. It had been on my radar for some time. Unfortunately, it is not what we were hoping for. It's sad that we have so many pizza shops around us but not even a handful that we would recommend. We will try Renato's in Glenside next. read more

I've been ordering from this pizza place for years. It has changed owners. Their delivery times are fast. My three star review is because the pizza I've have received the last few times I have ordered has been undercooked. The cheese is just barely melted and the pizza is very messy when it is delivered. I have had to put it in my home oven to cook it completely. In addition, every time I have ordered toppings on half of the pizza, it comes with full toppings. Luigi's was once a really nice place to order from. Our family has been ordering from them since 2007 but the establishment may have changed hands because we rarely eat there anymore. They have a nice website with stock photos that DOES NOT represent their food at all. Think of how the chains deceive customers with a promise of something good, but the product is trash. We only order Luigi's anymore when it's the absolute last resort, however, tonight was our last order. I'd rather eat Chef Boyardee! \ Delivery dude came with a crushed box of pizza that smash the top of the pizza, the nachos look like cheese soup with soggy burned nachos and the mozzarella sticks were like rubber- fed those to my dogs. Very disappointing, especially considering the cost. $47 for two medium pizzas and an order of fries is outrageous. Won't be back. NOTE: experience was delivery only I ordered delivery from here because I was craving pasta. I got the pasta (spaghetti) with meatballs that came with a side of bread and salad. The amount I got was a lot - a huge bowl of spaghetti with 4 small breadsticks and a container of salad. It was definitely worth the price! The delivery came promptly within the time I indicated and they delivered inside a box rather than a plastic bag, which I thought was different. Pasta with meatballs and breadsticks were pretty good. They were not soggy and there were enough meatballs and definitely enough pasta. The salad sauce though was amazing - it was honey mustard. Definitely get the sauce! Next time, I will try the pizza! So I ordered a cheesesteak and a couple pizzas 2 days early, to be delivered to my mom and the nurses and some other residents at her assisted living place. We still can't visit due to Covid, so I hoped this would bring some cheer. Unfortunately, it was delivered later than requested, so lunch was served and nobody was hungry for the pizza. I ordered and paid 2 days early, but when I called to complain, one of the owners told me they had a big order for $500 come in, so they were too busy. I stay in the area regularly due to business travel and order delivery from here probably weekly. My regular go to order is their spinach salad, which is crisp, fresh and always delicious with freshly cooked bacon . Their mozzarella stick always come piping hot, yes, even as a delivery item they're hot! Tonight I had the Capri salad, which was also delicious and fresh. The pizza is pretty decent. There probably are better places in the area to get a slice. But the other food is much more noteworthy. Cheesesteaks (with the works) are awesome, the MEGA FRIES are fantastic and will leave your heart equally filled with plaque and love. AND the wings are great. We live locally and order from here about once every 1-2 weeks. Even though there is plenty of competition in the area, I think Luigi's has been consistently the best of the bunch.
