The pizza slices that were sitting on the counter looked delicious but may have been there for a while. We tried the buffalo, chicken with pink sauce and the Grandma slice. A classic! Every time we are in Dreshertown, we drive to Glenside to Pizza Box just to get the old-fashioned tomato pie! Why, you ask.. dependably fresh, always made when you order it (not just sitting under a lamp), and the basil is plentiful & unwilted! Great pizza! My favorites are the Stallone (cheesesteak-stuff pizza) and of course the classic plain slice. The cheesesteaks and prime rib sandwiches are top-notch as well. They've got fountain soda. Easy parking. There's indoor seating and they have a nice outdoor deck in the back, too. Just remember, cash only, but it's worth the trip to the ATM. read more

Went to Pizza Box for dinner with a friend before night class. We both ordered cheesesteaks and a fountain soda. The girl behind the counter took our order and we paid in advance. We sat there for about 25 minutes and no one at the grill had even started cooking them. We needed to leave so my friend asked for a refund and the manager claimed the girl never gave him a slip to cook them. After some discussion he got a definite I did not because I walked out. This was the second time in a couple weeks she did this to me. The old group who ran the place is no longer there. This staff needs a complete overhaul. Before I start I feel it's important to note they only take cash! They have a ATM inside for your convenience. We were greeted and waited on as soon as we walked in the door even though the place was pretty busy. The food on display looked great as we decided what to get. We decided on a 18 inch Sicilian pizza. Half pepperoni and half Italian sausage with onions on both sides. It looked delicious! If you like a thick crust, this pizza is for you. I love bread, so yes please!! The crust was nice and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside like I like. Plenty of meat, but could use a little more sauce. They do give you a dipping sauce to go with it so that makes up for it. It was delicious!! My husband also ordered a meatball hoagie that was very good and flavorful (I must order that next time). I also ordered a Honey Buffalo Veggie Stromboli for my daughter. She said it was delicious. You can eat in or take out your food. Also you can BYOB! I debated between 2 and 3 stars. Settled on 2 due to my first issue below. My family ordered 3 pies, 2 white and 1 regular (toppings on both) 1st huge issue was I found a small piece of chicken on my pizza. I don't eat meat. Also onions on my pie when they were not ordered on mine. It's fine, I'll eat them, but not my order. Sausage chunks were so big on one of the pies they had to cut them up. I never thought I'd say this, but there were too many toppings that the pizza was sagging. It didn't have enough firmness to uphold the actual pizza and toppings would just fall off. It is cash only, which for the price felt like a slap in the face. Super expensive. Taste was fine, but there are better locations in the area. read more

My friends and I were starving after a meeting and wanted to get something quick but delicious! We found this place on yelp (thanks fellow Yelpers) and we new it was worth trying! We found the owners and helpers to be friendly and helpful. The interior is nicely set up to accommodate pairs and also a larger group if you want to put a few tables together. I would definitely suggest ordering a whole pie... there is nothing like a melting slice of cheese that meets your hunger. I would also get a steak hoagie with cheese and hot peppers. Such a great spot! The pizza is great (and I live in NYC and am saying that!) and the owner is super nice. They were accommodating for our large lunch group which included kids, and everything was tasty and fresh. They even gave us complimentary espresso which was so kind. Went there tonight with my family and we ordered 4 things . Pizza , fries , salad , chicken wings . We ordered and ate in person it took about 30 minutes to come out first the pizza came out than salad about 5 minutes later than another 5 minutes rolled around and they said they forgot to make the rest of the food and it would be another 15-20 minutes . They refunded us but didn't offer us anything else in return for their mess up . Pizza was ok it was very thin and a bit greasy and overall hard to eat . This place is the move!! My parents and I always pass it on our way to work in the mornings and one night we finally decided to try it. We got a pretty big order of their lemon garlic wings, fries, the Jackie Chan sandwich, spaghetti and meatball dinner, and the pizza box special neopolitan size pizza. Everything is so fresh and absolutely delicious. The lemon garlic wings are more tangy and have herbs in the sauce for a refreshing, different, but delicious flavor. Their fries are pre-seasoned and crispy, the Jackie Chan was HUGE, and the pizza was just perfect. You can tell they use very fresh and high quality ingredients and I believe they make their own dough. Pasta dinners come with a side salad (choice of dressing) and garlic bread; the meatballs are homemade and on a larger size. If you want a large portion of food, good flavors, and fresh ingredients, this is the place to order. Pizza Box would be five stars, except #1: the customer service has never been great... to be honest, they sort of always serve your Italian food with a side of genuine attitude, apathy, and sometimes angst... and #2: They don't take credit/debit cards, further adding to the old school mafia managed feel. You can however go to their in-store ATM behind an honestly shady corner and be shook down for an ATM fee. With that out of the way, this is possibly the best pizza in the area and there is *excellent* competition in/around Glenside. It's consistently delicious. Sauce is beautifully made, crust has a great chew & crisp, and the cheese is like a good handshake that makes you feel happy as you close a deal or say goodbye to a new friend. YUMMY! I drove by this place for 10+ years and never tried it! So my husband and I decided to get take out from this place! My husband hates HAWAIIAN PIZZA. Doesn't see the point of having pineapple on his pizza but since I loveeeeeeeee Hawaiian pizza, we decided to get half Hawaiian and half cheese pizza and fries! As we were driving back home, we ate ALL THE FRIES in the car because it was so good! (or maybe we were supper hungry....but we're fries lovers!) I'm don't know what all the hype is about this place. I stopped by for lunch today. This is some of the worst pizza and service I've ever had. I walked in and it was pretty dead. I ordered a plain slice, margarita slice and a coke. I was given the cup and was told a minute or two. Literally 10 minutes later I had to ask for my slices. I don't know if they keep the ovens low or what but 10 minutes to heat a slice is ridiculous. The pizza was bad! The margarita slice was terrible. The sauce had a bitter/sour taste and the cheese was burnt. The plain slice was just covered in grease. The crust also has a strange flavor. My guess is they need to scrape the ovens. Both slices were entirely too greasy, even the bottom and crust was greasy. Another issue I have is the cash only thing. It's 2017, get with the times. Yes they offer an ATM with a surcharge. A lady was in there ordering a salad, she was .75 cents short, she had to use he ATM.. I offered to pay but she declined..Never again, 1 star because I have too. read more
