After supporting this restaurant for so long, it was disappointing and hurtful to have my family treated this way. I expected a family-friendly environment where customers are respected, but instead we were made to feel uncomfortable and wrongly judged. Went hoping for a pleasurable dining experience. However, I was greeted at the door by a heavy set, sweaty middle aged man who seemed quite irritated by my presence. After a solid 5 or 6 minutes of unbroken eye contact, I chose to seat myself. I probably waited a half hour before I was angrily presented with a menu, which had dark red stains on each page, and many pages were stuck together, limiting my options. I chose to order a personal pan pizza and a baked ravioli meal. I had to wait an additional half hour before my order was taken, and the ruckus in the kitchen afterwards led me to believe they were unprepared to prepare my meal. After nearly forty five minutes of waiting, through horrid stomach pains and hungry throws, I was given 2 plates covered by material that cannot be reasonably described as food. The waiter chose to toss these plates at me, from nearly a yard away from the table. What food I was able to salvage had the taste of metal, dandruff, and some substances on the "pizza" resembled cooked bodily fluid. Before being presented with the check, all the workers in the store put on their coats and left. I chose to follow and enjoy a free meal. My car was keyed. Ultimately, I would dine here again. The emasculating atmosphere and threatening wait staff are a welcome break from the typical coddling I find at most other establishments. read more

My family & I used to live in Huntingdon Valley back in the late 80's & early 90's, Roman Delight was the Go-To place. Now in 2014, it's nice to know - that it still is! My daughter & I were in the area & planned on stopping in for an early dinner. Their waitstaff are still friendly and professional. The food is still out of this world. I had the wings as a starter - probably the only place in the area that has a six (6) piece order (very smart), the wings are good size & the hot sauce definitely brings the heat without knocking your socks off. Excellent! We shared a medium plain pie and still had some leftover to bring home. Their pizza is exactly how I remembered it - simply delicious. They still use those "raised pizza serving trays" so the table doesn't get cluttered (very smart). Almost forgot, They have pretty much whatever beer you desire...Huge selection and ice cold! Hit the spot on a warm day and the perfect addition to my food selection. We saw some other reviews that mentioned price, remember this "You get what you pay for". You want cheap...be prepared for the service and food quality & waitstaff to reflect cheap! One last thing...Thank you Roman Delight, Abington...still caring after all these years! read more

Well, buckle up, 'cause at Roman Delight, the pizza ain't the only thing servin' up some heat. Walked in expectin' Southern comfort, got a surprise with the pizza twist, but let me tell ya, the real surprise was the waitresses - hotter than a summer day in Talladega. I'm talkin' Southern charm with a side of sizzle. Tried to focus on my pizza, but them waitresses had me doin' more laps than a racetrack. It's like they brought the Southern heat right into the joint. Now, I reckon if they added a "Hottest Waitress Grand Prix" to the menu, Roman Delight would be the front-runner. Nothing special, I thought it was sliced too thin, but with the penne, it was hot, and quite an improvement over the appetizer. We also thought the bread was delicious - light and fluffy to soak up the olive oil. Maybe it's why the pizza there seems so popular. I think we'll go back to try the pizza, but will pass on the meatballs!

There isn't a dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to find street parking, which is limited. Many of the nearby spaces seem to be occupied by neighboring businesses. One thing I did observe that concerned me was food handling. I saw a few employees using their cell phones in the kitchen area. After using their phones, they appeared to go back to handling food without first washing their hands or putting on fresh gloves. The employee who prepared my pizza was not one of the people I observed doing this, so I felt okay about my order. However, cell phones can carry a lot of germs, and proper handwashing before handling food is an important food safety practice. I hope management reminds employees to wash their hands and change gloves after using their phones. Overall, the service was fine, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the pizza for the price. I'm not sure if I'll return, but I appreciate the convenient location and hope they'll continue to focus on food safety and consistency.
