What a surprise from what appears to be a tiny pizza shop hidden away in what appears to be just a Weiss supermarket. Tucked in at the end of the strip is Amalio's - not just a pizza shop but Italian food that rivals any Italian restaurant I've been to. Rich, thick tomato sauce with just the right amount tang, crispy juicy cutlet topped with creamy melted mozzarella. The generous portion of parm is accompanied by homemade pasta of your choice. Probably one of the best chicken parm's I have had. Unfortunately as outstanding as the food was the service was drastically subpar. We sat invisible as we waited to put in our drink order, than more as we waited over 10 minutes to get our order taken. Sophie our server was very rushed and possibly overwhelmed but not so much that she didn't have time to sit and chat with another table. It was abundantly clear that regulars were the priority here as Sophie wasn't the only one passing us by time after time as plate after plate was served to others as we sat invisible. Finally our food arrived delivered by kitchen staff. If my rating were for the food alone no doubt Amalio's would receive a 5* review, but unfortunately the service left us feeling like an imposition rather than a welcomed guest. We are hoping this was just an unlucky fluke and will give it another try someday because food of this level deserves matching quality in service.

    Chicken Marasala

A taste of south Philly in Warminster. Food and service were excellent. Chicken Marsala was tender and the sauce was right on the mark. The shrimp, crabmeat, mozzarella with rigatoni in a blush sauce was outstanding. Both meals came with salads and garlic knots. Ambiance is pleasant and family-oriented. Looking forward to returning!

Drunken chicken parmigiana with linguine (homemade pasta)

We started our meal with the Hot Honey Pizza, which comes topped with pepperoni, hot honey, and grated reggiano. We added ricotta cheese to ours, and wow, what an incredible choice! The pizza was absolutely delicious. The crust had that perfect balance of crisp and chew, and the hot honey gave each bite the right amount of sweet heat. It's a must-try pizza pie! While waiting for our entrees, we were given complimentary bread knots, a nice touch, but we decided to save room for the main courses. For my entrée, I ordered the Drunken Chicken Parmigiana. When I asked about which pasta was freshest, our server went to check with the kitchen and came back to let me know it was linguine that day, an impressive level of service. The chicken cutlets were huge, and the vodka sauce was outstanding: creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The fresh linguine had that tender-yet-firm texture that makes homemade pasta so special. My son ordered the Chicken Marsala with spaghetti and really enjoyed it. He said the Marsala wine sauce had great flavor, and again, the portion size was generous enough that he couldn't quite finish it. The new dining area is spacious, beautifully designed, and creates a comfortable atmosphere whether you're there for a family dinner or a casual night out. The service was excellent! Attentive without being overbearing, and our drinks were always refilled quickly. A quick tip: they do charge a small additional fee if you pay with a credit card (I believe around 3%), so I recommend bringing cash to avoid that extra charge. There's also plenty of parking, making it convenient and stress-free to visit. Overall, Amalio's Pizza & Pasta is a gem. From the warm service to the homemade pasta and innovative pizza combinations, everything feels crafted with care. If you're looking for authentic Italian comfort food in a welcoming space, this is definitely a place you'll want to visit again and again.

    Drunken Chix Parm

First visit and won't be the last. Great service and casual decor. We got the hot honey pizza and drunken chicken parm platters which comes with choice of soup or salad and garlic knots and breadsticks. All our food was incredible

    Meatball sub
    Eugene K.

I stopped here for lunch after seeing a review on Instagram. It's an unassuming place in a strip mall. But the food is awesome. I got the meatball sub. The meatballs were delicious, the sauce is light but flavorful and the roll was perfect. My daughter got the cheesesteak, which was equally as good. We got a pizza to go -- the Drunken Grandma. It's a square pizza with vodka sauce and mozzarella. (Insert chef's kiss here.) The service was great -- responsive and respectful. It is also makes its own pasta, so I want to come back for dinner.

    Drunken grandma pie

I went to Amalios the first week they opened. It was the best pizza I had in the area since Dino's closed. Went back a couple weeks later and had a convo with the owner telling her I was torn between wanting to tell people and keeping it a hidden secret so that they weren't overwhelmed and the quality would suffer. After that visit, I have yet to have a descent pizza from them. Tonight I decided to try again. I ordered a drunken grandma pie. What I got was an over done, with hard dark brown crust and a sloppy mess. I know someone there knows how to make an amazing pizza. I wish I knew who that was and when they work.

    Sad looking side salad
    Kurt V.

Quite good for shopping center Italian. Always like a nice byob italian spot. No complaints other than the side salad which was small and pretty generic as you can tell in picture. The drunken chicken parm was very good and very large (drunken = vodka sauce). Service was good. The included breadsticks and garlic knots were also satisfying. Overall, I will definitely be back to try the pizza.

We shared a literally beautiful antipasto for an appetizer. It boasted fresh mozzarella balls, eggplant, artichokes, sweet red peppers, prosciutto, and olives. We had a good and soft loaf of bread with a yummy olive oil and balsamic dip too. Our meals were ALL tremendous! We had pasta dishes - gnocchi marsala and fettuccine with clams - EXCELLENT! I had plenty of sauce left to dip the soft bread into :) The other couple had octopus (appetizer) and seafood atop squid ink pappardelle pasta. They loved their dishes as well. Of course we didn't have room for dessert, but our chocolate wine and other wines were definitely sufficient. BYOB's are great and money saving. This place is a bit of a haul but I hope to get back in the future !

We had heard about La Voglia and decided to try it out! We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't…read moretoo crowded. The restaurant has a warm feel to it and is decorated nicely. They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!

Quite empty on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. I assume they get a younger crowd that works and comes later (we are retired). The happy hour menu impressed us. Speciality cocktails normally $15-ish were only $9. That got our attention. Plus $5 appetizers. Never see lemon drop martini, manhattan and expresso martinis on happy hour afterall. And those were our picks (3 of us). We were celebrating Mom's 93 birthday. For the $5. appetizers we picked pork spring rolls, potato chip nachos, and mozzarella sticks. The chips were the winner. BUT "never" get the spring rolls. Two very disappointing , tiny spring rolls that had a microscopic amount of pork. It was pathetic. Not even worth it for $5. I would stay away from those. Silly only two on the plate and there were 3 of us. Too small to share. Our server was efficent and sweet. She added to a nice happy hour. We enjoyed playing a few rounds of table shuffle board. Nice addition. The best part of our happy hour was a friendly couple (we just met them) at the bar surprised us and paid for a round of drinks since they heard it was my Mom's 93 birthday!! That surely made her day extra special and memorable.

Sometimes dishes like this do not have as much topping as I like. in this case it was perfect. Finally for dessert, we had the Barry callout chocolate cake. People in the US do not realize how good of chocolate Callout makes but you can taste it in the cake. The final good word is that this is a BYOB establishment, and we like that too because wine is always so overpriced. The bottom line is that we will continue coming here for special occasions.
