I flew from Bonita Springs, Fl. To Doylestown to attend my sons and and his wife's baby shower ! My first grandchild ! My son loves the restaurant owned by the same owners in Newtown. My son and I had the linguini and clam sauce only replaced capellini for fettuccine. It was fantastic. They used whole little neck clams instead of chopped clams and the sauce was delicious. My Daughter had Pappardella Vienna. I was able to get a picture of her meal but forgot to take a pic my sons and my dinner. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Very comfortable which you would expect in an Italian restaurant. The service was excellent! Our server Mia was so sweet, her focus was for us to have a pleasant experience. She came back at the right times to see if we needed anything. Tbh she was one of the highlights of the meal. Service was excellent. The staff worked hard. The ambiance is meh. It's very loud in there and our table was quite close to our neighbor with very little room to maneuver. The martini was good; however for the $17 price tag, it was extremely small (think half the size of a normal martini) with the smallest olives I've ever seen. Food likewise was also just meh. Always good service . I have to say noticing difference in food . Salad was 1/2 the size as prior visits. Mussels appetizer were mushy. Veal parmigiana was so thick it made it tough. We are regulars here. The food is good but the bar staff is not great about checking back with customers. We have been there many times when it seems there are 3 bartenders and no one seems to care if a customer needs a refill. We have had to call out to people to get their attention. Normally we are very very good tippers but we hold to a strict 20% here because we feel ignored. I don't get it. Did we hurt someone's feelings, do we wear the wrong clothes, speak the wrong language? We have spoken to management about this but it seems like the situation is addressed once and then we are back to being ignored. Frustrating. read more

We enjoyed our cocktails very much - an Aperol Spritz (with Pear Nectar in it) for me and a classic Grey Goose Martini for my friend. The chicken picatta and caprese salad (with a salmon filet added) were both delicious. Only 1 small issue - the zuchini blossoms (app) were deep fried and very greasy. Wife and I had dinner pat Friday. Ordered a bottle of Malbec from wine list. They open a bottle and poured two glasses but it was not what was ordered. When questioned waitress said it was the replacement as they were all out of the one we ordered. They did this without asking. Book arrives and it had the other Malbec from the wine list. The wine served was not that good, and was not listed on their wine menu. My guess is it was their house malbec. read more

My husband and I went here recently. It was pretty early for lunch but our wonderful server, Luke, informed us that they had brunch. Wow! What a great brunch menu!! We have been eating at Piccolo Trattoria off and on for several years. The pizza has always been good, but lately this place has been amazing. The manager has really done a fantastic job with the staff. They all have a positive attitude and they hustle. And tonight the pizza was the best ever. We came during Happy Hour and sat in the front. There was a good vibe all around, and an attractive bar. The house red was very good, better than most wines for a happy hour. Our meal was very good, as was the service. It's wasn't rushed, but we didn't have to wait too long, either. The timing of service is important. Most of all, the menu is SO much more interesting than it was a few years ago, and the food is much better, too. It's a good value, as well: $66 for two salads, two entrees, two glasses of wine and a shared dessert. Cesar at the front desk is pleasant, too, a very nice gentleman. We'll be back!! Our first visit, not our last! We dined with a group after an event. They were accommodating about separate checks. Ordered Dewars on the rocks. It was very obviously a measured shot. Skimpy for $13.50. Bread was nice and warm. Nice fresh salad with house balsamic. Entrees were delish. Linguini with clams. Linguini with scallops and shrimp in sherry cream sauce, which was the winner. Wait staff was very nice. They accommodated a change in the order very kindly. The food was decent. Love the balsamic glazed veg app. Portions are appropriate for the price. My daughter had the ribeye and loved it. Great veg sides, mashed potatoes, plus a Caesar salad. It was really good. I ordered the frangelica, pasta, which was spaghetti, porcini mushrooms, chicken, cream sauce, and hazelnuts. It was just really disappointing bc it was bland. There was no chicken flavor or mushroom flavor. There wasn't even a cream sauce flavor. It was just half and half added to pasta. And this isn't even that important taste wise- but the dish did not contain hazelnuts. They were slivered almonds. Almonds and hazelnuts are different in taste, texture, and how they look when they are shelled. So not a great meal and also not what was on the menu. Just don't get the frangelica. The tables all have these little table lamps that give a cozy and inviting ambiance but that atmosphere sort of ended there bc our server gave the impression that they wanted us to leave. Context: two top on a Friday night. Mother and daughter. We aren't staying late but we did order apps, a $40 entree, a glass of wine, and my $27 sloppasta dish (again- not the servers fault). But while the server talked for a long time to other tables and rushed off, we were trying to get a desert menu. Then at 9:20, we were able to get the attention of a bus person for a desert menu while the other workers started dragging chairs and prepping to close up for the night. The dining room was still half full of booths and tables. It was so uncomfortable. After ten minutes, our server saw that we had desert menus they came over to see if we wanted our check and we said yes even though we wanted to get desert. We were just so uncomfortable. And the server made a "joke" saying "how was everything besides the service?" We had not complained or murmured any displeasure so I was taken aback by this comment. At that point I hadn't processed how inhospitable the whole experience was and it was really uncomfortable and awkward. They gave me the check which was $125 which I could pay with a card and the tip suggestion prompt came up starting at 23% while the server stood there watching me choose. So food was okay but not for the price. The place is loud and the service made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then on top of it, it wasn't easy to choose to tip anything other than 23, 27, or 30% tip while the server tapped their foot waiting after referencing that they gave bad service bc they didn't want to still be working at 9:30. We got there at 8:30 and left by 9:30. I've dined in twice before and felt myeh. I ate at the bar twice and was also like myeh. I ordered take out, and felt that the food wasn't worth the price. This time- the whole experience confirmed that for the price, the quality of food, and service- I just won't go back there. Oh well. Everyone has bad days and maybe our server really wanted to go home for whatever reason but it's no okay to actively make comments that will make diners feel like a burden and then suggest a 23- 30% tip. I hope the restaurant changes that suggestion as a starting point. I tip 20% for crap service and up to 40% for exceptional. This left a bland taste in my mouth- much like the pasta. read more

I was a little concerned that we had to bring our own alcoholic beverages, but there was a store two doors away. The service and food was fantastic. We were able to split one meal between the two of us and there was plenty of salad and Roberts for the two of us. The desert was great also. One of the best features about this restaurant is the consistency of the food. Now that we have been here multiple visits and found our new favorite server (Kurt, I'm looking at you), I'm updating this review. When we had out of town family staying with us, Piccolo was one of the core places that we knew we had to introduce them to. The Carbonara, the Pesto, the Vodka sauces, made fresh and delicious, EVERY SINGLE TIME, are staples for us. They are consistently made and deliver the huge flavor punch I'm looking for. What blew my mind this time were the specials. The Chilean Sea Bass and the Barramundi were cooked to perfection. They don't always seem to be on the menu, and because they were part of the specials, they were in the $30-$50 range. The piece of Sea Bass was very generous (I hate ordering a special only to get a sliver of the protein) and cooked to perfection! The pasta that came with was shaped like a purse, stuffed with delicious cheese. I don't mind paying more for good food, but my personal pet peeve is when I pay, and the food is barely mediocre. The highlight of the meal was the service (and if you can imagine just how good this meal is, that is saying A LOT). Our server Kurt was phenomenal. He was funny, friendly, and super helpful. We had a large party, but because we wanted our family to try a bunch of different dishes, we only ordered 8 main dishes to be shared among 12 people. We still walked away with some leftovers (great portion sizes), but the most amazing thing was that Kurt just made us feel so comfortable when we asked for it to be served family style. Extra plates and utensils, not even batting an eye that we weren't getting meals for each individual. Seriously, how have we never gotten him before? If you want the FULL Piccolo experience, definitely ask for Kurt to be your server. Going back tonight to celebrate a birthday. Requested Kurt. It's going to be awesome! read more

Well..... he we are 6 years later: Walked in to the "manager" berating the young hostess at the hostess stand for asking a question..... let's move on: waitress comes to the table, coughing, and no clue what the beers are they serve, along with not really knowing how to work her handheld computer to place orders. Ok, appetizer shows up, after two Bites I go for the third and fill My mouth with hair! Sent that back asap! So we wait, 10-15 minutes go by and the dinners come out. So much for the salads and the "up charge" for asking for Caesar . So I tell the waitress that we didn't get the salads and she asks if we want to take them home? Seriously? Manager comes over and states he will take the app off the bill and offers dessert. Dinners were fair, not the best not the worst. Pasta with my meal was way over cooked but hey what can you expect if they can't even keep hair out of the food. So the check shows up, appetizer was removed, but the "up charge " salad which we never received was still there! Waitress was missing, so I went to the manager, he removed the charges and gave us 5 dollar coupons to come back. Ugh- ah NO! By the way , try the water! One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. You will not be disappointed. While waiting they give you this amazing bread and dipping sauce. Appetizers are large and delicious. I went here a few weeks ago and had an overall great time. I got chicken Marsala which was absolutely delicious. The only thing I wish I was asked was what kind of pasta I wanted with it because I was hoping for penne and got spaghetti, but it's no big deal. The bread they give you is to die for. It is so delicious and the oil that comes with it pairs amazing. Overall, it was a great experience besides being sat right in front of live music and having a hard time hearing the people I was eating with. Just had a fantastic dinner at Piccolo Trattoria in Doylestown. From start to finish it was a perfect evening. Our server, STEF, was excellent!! She was extremely pleasant and professional as well as knowledgeable about the food and drink choices. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and the lobster ravioli was so delicious. The sauce was creamy but not too heavy. The entire staff was extremely attentive. We also enjoyed the live music in the bar area for Friday evening Happy Hour. Thia was the 2nd time visiting the restuarant and the food was good again. Unfortunately the service was subpar this evening which included our server not clearing our salad plates, bringing our drinks from the bar when our entrees were almost on the table, not clearing unused wine glasses or checking on us till our entrees were finished. He did have time to chat with the two tables on the side of us though. I also didn't appreciate him standing over top of me when it came time to pay with the POS credit card machine. I know this is the restaurant's setup and he is following their process, but it makes it uncomfortable if you want to tip less than 20% which was the lowest option on the screen. read more

If you dine here, please check your online credit card statement. Last week we went to Piccola Trattoria, at the Doylestown location. We went at lunchtime, around 2 pm and there were not a lot of people. We ordered three dishes, it took a while for the food to arrive, but we really enjoyed their food. When we got the bill there was an extra $2 up-charge, that the waitress failed to inform us. The change was different type of noodle will be extra, unless we stay with spaghetti, that comes with the it. This is a new rule she said when we got the bill. We were okay with the extra charge and went up to pay at the bar, because she was multitasking and working in that area as well. I thought server preferred cash, so we paid with credit card and handed her directly $15 cash as the tip for the $69 bill. I wrote "cash" on the tip line. The next day, I went to check my bank statement online, there was an extra $8 tip on my bill. I immediately called and spoke to the manager Caesar. He was very nice, and I explained what happened. He refunded me $8 right away. I was very upset how can anyone add your own tips without my permission, even though I have already handed her the tip in cash. Isn't that stealing? Just be aware and check your credit card statement next time you dine out. read more

This review is for a delivery..This is the third weekend in a row U have ordered from this restaurant. Last weekend I received an offer from a delivery service I had used before to order from this service. I selected items, and when checking out, it told me the delivery service did not deliver to my address, even though they had the previous weekend. This weekend I received the same offer, I ordered and this time they accepted. The sidesalad and appetizer we're spot on. Pasta was acceptable but the dinner salad could have been better. Beets, citrus and cheese is a classic combination. These beets were fine, the orange segments had not been seeded and the feta was left in large chunks. I personally make a better version with salt roasted beets, tangerine (seeded) and there. Big fail. Cutting corners is fine but seed your oranges and break up your cheese! read more

Went to the Doylestown location for dinner with my wife. First, the place had about 10 people in it and we were seated by the kitchen/bus station in a half booth half table. These tables should be used when the other are taken. After waiting a few minutes our waitress asked if we'd like to see the drink/wine menu. We said yes, so she dropped it and left. We waited about another 10 minutes for her toe return (there was no employee in sight, and then they appeared. It seems as if there was a staff meeting in the back). We ordered our drinks and then food. I had the Chicken Parm and my wife had the Gnocchi Florentino. The food was very good! However, when I asked for a second beer, they delivered me a lager that was not what I ordered. Once dinner finished, we got up to leave and had to walk around the manager (who was standing at the hostess desk talking) and she never even said goodbye, how was everything, have a nice evening, nothing. Sorry, Customer Service is very important to me, so I will not be dining at this establishment again. read more
