Wheelchair accessible seating on main level

The cozy space and authentic Italian comfort food made Paganini the perfect spot for a late lunch on a crisp winter's day. Everything is scratch-made with attention to detail, so settle in and allow time for a leisurely meal. My vegetarian lasagna was well worth the wait (30 minutes, which our server explained in advance) and my husband got two meals out of his bountiful bowl of pasta with mussels and shrimp. Next time we want to save room for the cannoli, which looked delicious. Our only hiccup was an accessibility issue, which probably has more to do with the city than the restaurant. There is a wheelchair ramp at the back, however, the sidewalk leading to the ramp doesn't have a cutout (meaning a wheelchair user would have to be able to stand with assistance, get out of their chair, and step down off the curb before returning to the chair). Fortunately my husband could do this, but just a heads up to other potential diners who may have mobility issues. There is a small outdoor patio that looks to be fully accessible for dining in warmer weather.

I love Italian food but this was a horrible experience. The food was like a 5/10 and the service was a 1/10. Nobody checked on us, ever. A different person took our drinks order, food order, and brought the food. It took about 45 minutes for 2 pizzas and 2 pastas to come out. One pasta was inedible (the zucchini flower pasta without zucchini flowers); the other was bolognese (meat sauce) without meat. The pizzas were super thin and cracker-consistency. The caprese appetizer was 4 quarter-sized slices of tomatoes with mozzarella for $12. For the price I would have expected much more, although it was good. I was also served broken cookware. We sent back an inedible pasta and nobody ever came to check on us about it.

The only caveat is that the dining area is small and can get loud. The meal came quick. We ordered a Caprese Salad which was great. The mozzerella tasted good and the tomatoes were red and fresh. The balsamic they used was also top rate. They split the order in 2 and served on separate plates which wa since so we wife and I did not argue about who got more. For the main cause, I had Poppy's Chicken which is always good. I like food a little spicy and this meets that bill. The sausage on top of the chicken is actually a little hot (spicy). Sometimes dishes like this do not have as much topping as I like. in this case it was perfect. Finally for dessert, we had the Barry callout chocolate cake. People in the US do not realize how good of chocolate Callout makes but you can taste it in the cake. The final good word is that this is a BYOB establishment, and we like that too because wine is always so overpriced. The bottom line is that we will continue coming here for special occasions. The food and atmosphere is great.

You have a choice of wood fired or regular so I tried the wood fired. They were meaty and the sauce was great. The habenera was hot enough as you would expect. The garlic parm had real garlic in the sauce which is great. The atmosphere was a typical American pub. When we first got there it was very busy and there was a group of people celebrating a birthday that took over the whole place. Be aware that it can be very loud and very cramped if there is a big party. Additionally the seating is a little limited. We were at a high table and the chairs had no backs. It was not a comfortable seat for sure. The server was friendly and attentive. She had no issue bringing us anything that we requested. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it was pricey for what it is. The wine was $11 a glass for a house Pinot Noir with a rather stingy pour. I would like to see some more affordable wine offerings. The bottom line is Villa Capri is an acceptable place to eat a dinner on a weekend night. However, be prepared for some noise and to pay a little bit higher than you would somewhere else.

After waiting, I called to speak with the manager to explain what happened. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was simply told that the order had been delivered and that it wasn't their problem. Customer service is just as important as the food, and in this case, there was no effort to investigate what happened or make things right. Mistakes can happen, but the way they're handled says a lot about a business. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling like they didn't value their customers, and I won't be returning.

Outstanding pizza with a touch of crispiness in the crust. The antipasto was so friggin' huge that the two of us could barely eat it.
