Since we were on time for the beginning of the World Cup Match the host asked us if we wanted to watch the match that was on the TV and seated us where we could see it. Ambience is traditional Italian Restaurant, though our server was French. The food was decent, though not inspired. I came here for Mother's Day. The place is nice and service was very friendly. The food was good. The price was definitely jacked up a bit. I was felt that there were way too many seafood options. It seemed like they purposely added seafood to every dish to hike up the price. It's a limited menu and both veal options had seafood. The chicken dish also had seafood. There were only two non-seafood options unless you want just salad or stuffed mushrooms from the appetizer section. We had desserts, which were good but a bit on the sweet side. My friend and I had a wonderful dinner at Buona Sera last night. Our server, Guido, was very friendly, attentive and went above and beyond. We both had the Shrimp and pasta special as well as the fresh beet, arugula and goat cheese salad. Dessert was mini cannolis and a light strawberry topped cake. We ate outside as there was a nice breeze around 6 pm and pretty lights and plants outside. This seems to be a new restaurant that a lot of people haven't found yet. Highly recommend! read more

The chef/owner's NY roots and positive reviews propelled us to Buona Sera. Last minute reservations and BYOB -- a must when we go Italian outside of Philadelphia -- made this a lovely evening. We shared a Caesar salad -- the dressing light and full of flavor -- coupled with calamari. Their calamari is delicious, fried just right, both tentacles and rings, with a tasty homemade tomato sauce. I vacillated between two entrees. When our gracious server (whose family owns the restaurant) said he'd ask the chef to pound the breast thin, I went with chicken parm. Other than a bit of a char on the cheese, the chicken was very good. (Leftovers for me tonight!) I was pleased that they obliged me with angel hair sauteed in garlic and olive oil .... but the amount of garlic was negligible. Needed more oomph! On the plus side, the pasta was al dente, as it should be. T ordered halibut, a special of the night. He loooooved it! I thought it a bit dry, but indeed flavorful and a good choice (albeit somewhat expensive.) Per usual -- calories be damned! -- we split dessert, pistachio cheesecake. Our assessments differ. My husband thought it delicious. I'd say "okay." The cheese layer was silky and undistinguishable. But if aesthetics count, the two-toned slice was pretty! Buona Sera is light and bright, with tables covered in cloths. (I like that!) Service was excellent and we enjoyed our meals. 4.4 stars! Tasty food, but very overpriced. We waited 45 minutes for our salads, because the server forgot to place our order. When they brought our entrees, mine wasn't delivered for another 15 minutes after everyone else's. Perhaps they were overwhelmed by the volume of patrons on Mother's Day. We had my son's birthday party here. The staff was amazing and the owner did an excellent job on setting everything up. . The food was absolutely amazing. Delicious the chicken marsala was so tender, and had a plentiful amount of mushrooms with a deli Marsala sauce. The salmon was so flavorful and fork, tender, and I'm one of the pickiest Italian pleasers. The vegetable were amazing perfectly cook, and the bread was good and the salad and the dressing, along with the cannolis. Everything was excellent. Have never walked out of a restaurant mid-meal - it was warranted, and having 1/5 courses after an hour and a half, we opted for McDonald's and to be home for midnight as planned. I had a wonderful lamb shank that was fork tender in a delicious brown gravy. The pasta bolognese was also a standout. I started with grilled octopus and highly recommend that. Their walnut cake was killer too. They also serve an herbed olive oil with the bread that would make a hotdog roll taste good. They batted 1000 the night we were there. I have had his Sacchetti Formaggi twice now and it is the best meal I have ever had at the new place. This is the fourth time I've pleasantly enjoyed the wonderful creations I've found on my plate when I've ordered here at Bouna Sera.. It truly has become a higher level grestaurant. When you sit down, the lighting is just right. The plants make you feel like you're in the semi tropical restaurant. The addition of foliage, the change of lighting, and the delightful edition of music literally throughout the restaurant just really makes everything flow. Again, the the proprietor of the restaurant is always there to make sure with great attention that everything's going well for us. He smiles,he's friendly and I could really care he truly cares about his customers and how their experience is making them feel while they are there eating. It's that personal touch and caring that really maked our experience unique , considering most proprietors don't have the time nor truly the inclination to personally interact his customers. I feel like we truly are given a family experience in this restaurant. They have added a few things and i honestly believe improvements will continue to come as they continue to grow to provide us with the whole package (so to speak).The food is really great. And i'm not just saying that , because I prefer to go to my hometown independently owNed establishments. This restaurant has been open about 1 month, and I'm giving them a high rating while taking that into account. We were there New Year's Eve 2024. My lamb shank was excellent. My Caesar salad was good, and my son liked his lobster raviolis. What impressed me was the male owner of this place. The place got busy all of a sudden, and it was too much for the 2 waitresses to handle. Then the OWNER comes out of the kitchen and starts serving tables, busing tables and serving drinks. The service was worse than bad: it was non-existent. It took two hours -- you read that correctly -- to be served my veal parmigiana together with the meals of two others in our party of nine. The other six were served their dinners earlier, so they were done eating before we even began. At no point did anyone from the restaurant come to our table to ask how was everything. Had a fantastic experience at Buona Sera on Saturday 4/12/25. I made a reservation for 4 at 5:30. Upon arrival I was promptly greeted by the owner, who showed us to our seats. Our server arrived shortly thereafter to greet us, open our bottle of wine we brought (it's BYOB) and read us the specials. They all sounded fantastic! We started with two appetizers, the Arancini and a Onion stuffed with Crab Meat. Everyone at the table agreed that both appetizers were delicious. For our entrees, we went with the Pappardelle Bolognese, Chicken Marsala, Veal Parm, and a Seafood special. All four entrees were FANTASTIC. Generous portions, well-executed, and reasonably priced. Service was on point all night as well. The dining room was packed by 6:30-7. Everyone seemed to be having a good time as you could feel a good vibe across the room. Of course we requested seconds! Mussels in red sauce was terrific! The Caesar salad is like none I've ever seen. The salad was inside a toasted crostini cylinder. Amazing. The stuffed mushrooms were spectacular. The lobster bisque was served in an unusual manner. In a bowl was prepped shrimp along with some spices and the soup was poured over the shrimp at the table.
